As you'd expect.
He had his flaws and the hate he got for being black was ugly at times. But, he really was an admirable person.
He knows this defeat for Hillary means, his legacy is gone and a lot of his work will be undone by Trump and Co....yet, here he is.

You forget that people suggested he was only an actor, a front for a behind the scenes cabal that would run the country.
He had given up the movies almost 20 years before he was elected and served as Governor of California. He at least built up a resume as Gov of a rather large state. Plus his movies were mostly crap so many people had forgotten about them.

Well that's definitely true. Criticism of feminism is limited to the internet and rarely seen in Hollywood or television. On the other hand, I've never seen a poll that doesn't have feminism at anything more than a third of the public. It has a monopoly on the media and a small influence on the public.

The right has been primarying winnable candidates to pursue their long-term goals. Goldwater leading to the southern strategy leading to Reagan. William Buckley himself trying to hurt a Repubilcan mayor of NY. And of course, the Tea Party.

My roommate from college just posted a heartbreaking status on fb. After we graduated, he got into a car accident and won't ever be able to walk again. Therapy and surgery costs pushed his medical bills to above $1 million, which has all been covered by Obamacare.

True, but not many after him did either.
It's possible he may not actually do much, delegate congressional/legislative stuff to his veep, stay out of foreign affairs, and focus on his celebrity status. It's hard to predict anything about Trump in office and he might by and large just go along with what the Republican congress wants, e.g. repeal Obamacare.
One hope for impeachment is that he gets caught siphoning off cash from the White House budget into his own pockets. Selling the White House china on E-bay.
Yeah that has to be the lesson for the left... It wasn't even close. The popular vote is nice but earns you nothing, and Trump won the real election by a decent margin. Decent folks turned out for Trump, in large numbers. Democrats have to take a good long look at themselves and figure out how that could happen.

It's shitty that in most developed countries, elections are being decided by the declining part of the demographic because millennials won't turn up.
To say it wasn't close isn't really true. Margins in PA, MI and WI look like they'll be 1% or less, that's tens of thousands of votes out of 120m+.

It was surprisingly conciliatory towards Clinton. Wonder if he will carry on with the goal of locking her up. Just watched a youtube live feed of her speech with live comments and by far the most repeated comment was "lock her up" followed by "grab her by the pussy"
I can appreciate how a transcript doesn't paint the complete picture of what he's said but he's come across like this during the whole campaign; unprepared, random, scattergun...and loads of other words for a deranged loose cannon. Hopefully either his tax affairs or (alleged) misconduct with women will have him impeached sooner rather than later.
It's the hope that's killing me.
By the way, folks talking about turnout being down - there are plenty of votes left on the west coast yet to be counted, final tally might be higher than 12.

Not surprising...he won the battleground states that Obama won the past two elections. Trump resonated to them because they believe, hey, he's got business acumen...he should be able to help me make more money, get a better job and not have to suffer. It's a simple, straightforward rhetoric to people who are simple, straightforward thinking. The rural and suburban voters, many of them (majority), are white. For whatever reason, they resonated more to Trump and his proclaimed differences as a non-politician and as a money-making business man.
I really think that was a vote against the political status quo of sorts.People are simply tired of the norm. I think the signs were there in the primaries when Jeb Bush was heavily trounced there.
Obama was really the start of the movement.He offered a hope of something different. I know Trump is part of the elite but in political terms he's a relative novice. The Democrats can learn to change candidates they offer to the public.
Elizabeth Warren is a shoe-in for 2020. And it wouldn't surprise me if Trump resigns before the 4 years are up.
I've said all along, I think this will be a learning experience for Americans who believe straight-talking is the most important quality in a President. Trump's story will be the cautionary tale that pushes the US political system towards the left.
