Expected Sarosi to be a R1 pick.
Expectedly underrated due to a lack of footage, very sporadical draft appearances and unspecified position (I remember being in disagreement with Joga about him being a true 9/false 9 when he plays as a striker with nothing but the old google-translated hungarian match reports to base my opinion on)

Although maybe only Puskas meets his standard as Sarosi was the standout player in the world for a few years (after Meazza and before Moreno/Pedernera), at least as I see it. Maybe Kubala too, though, it's so hard to rate them, while the likes of Stoichkov or Blokhin had outstanding seasons but weren't really ahead of the leading group in the long run

In light of the relative lack of household names at the centre back position (if I'm not wrong), ....
There is though that one defender that did exceptionally well at two clubs in Eastern Europe and achieved great things. Would have been my first choice in the defense.

Absolutely. I think there's been plenty research done on him in earlier drafts so expect him to get a good outing here.

There are quite a few quality center backs in the pool but there is no chance to build a fancy and recognizable defence like Baresi-Kohler that would shut down every threat in the eyes of the voters.

Well it looks like my decision has been made for me.

Lev Yashin.

Expect the phrase "the keeper will have a worldy" to be used.

The player I was referring to earlier. Nice pick.

No doubt, there are some excellent centre backs in the pool but very few who'd match up to Kocsis's all round and aerial game.

@Joga Bonito @antohan got what you meant now. I was sleep reading. My drafting days are over but I still read the threads from time to time.

IMO Puskas is the standout of the draft as he did it both on the international stage and at club level. After him in terms of forwards for me is Kubala (although others might disagree as he lasted till me), then Hidegkuti, Kocsis, Sarosi, Nedved, Sheva etc.

Sheva IMO eclipsed what Blokhin has done previously and has a bit higher ceiling. Was genuine contender for one of the best players in the world in a very star studded era and one of the toughest defences in the game.

Albert generally is a bit underrated I think and usually divides opinions. Right up there of course.

Really wanted to pair him with Vasovic in the Monopoly draft. Didn't get to pick even one of them

Finally he'll get a recognition he deserves, he always have a Torres argument thrown against him in the ordinary drafts, while I genuinely consider him to be one of the best stoppers in history of the game
