Their shit and average players like Can, Henderson, and Lovren will suddenly come good again when they play us so I'm not really confident at all. Gladly take a point.

Liverpool does really good when they're underdogs. I think it would be a boring draw

Fecking Murder these scoucers (on the pitch I mean). I hope you win 6-0, resulting in them having such low confidence that they lose the next 5, and we sneak into top 4 at their expense.

Wouldn't mind Costa dodging a red and snatching a goal to win it.
Costa dodging a red, for simulation in the box, when he was offside in the first place, gets awarded a penalty, which he misses but scores the rebound whilst fouling their keeper. He then throws himself to the ground, theatrically after being pushed by a Liverpool player, for celebrating in front of them and said player gets sent off. All this happens in the 89th min after Liverpool have been denied a perfectly legitimate goal, moments before.

A title decider in January? No chance. There is still more than enough time for the current table to be shaken up. The best result for UTD is a draw, this way both teams drop points. I can't understand those wanting a Chelsea win. We should be hoping for every team above us to drop points to bring us closer to first place.

That's what I felt two rounds ago when we were 10 points off. Now that it's 14, I'm increasingly pessimistic. If not a Chelsea win, then a 4-4 draw with 3 red cards and injuries each. Klopp and Conte to end the game in a fist fight with Clattenburg as collateral damage.

Yeah I never understood this approach when we were mere 10 points behind with half a season to go but currently I am not hopeful about the title race at all. 14 points is a mountain to climb, even if they lose to Liverpool and we close it to 11 and then beat them at Old Trafford to make it 8, it's still a large gap.

I hope Liverpool get thrashed by Chelsea, lose all confidence and struggle to get results for the rest of the season, finally finishing behind Everton. Am I asking for too much? :p

That would probably mean no Europa League. Myself I'm drooling over the prospect of Premier League gegen-pressing and thursday kick-offs with that dipper squad next season. Klopp might drain their energy come October!

EDIT: 7th might be enough for Europa League, let's hope!

For me it's because we have a much more realistic chance of catching Liverpool than we do Chelsea. Had we won our last 2 league games we could've potentially been in the title race in which case I'd actually be hoping for a draw. As it is however we are fighting for top 4 and the league is very unlikely now, so a Chelsea outright win suits us best imo.

This would still be a better finish than what they managed last year

That's just heartbreaking really. I mean I wouldn't even wish that on any other team because I'd never want anyone to have to go through that. Soul destroying stuff.

The only shaking up is from 2nd down i suspect. I fully expect them to avoid defeat in at least one of those 2 games v Pool and Arsenal and then they don't play City or Utd until April by which time they'd have it sewn up.

We'll win it and convince ourselves we've turned a corner and might be back in it. In reality, we won't be. We're playing for second at this stage.

Sorry but from a UTD perspective the best possible result is a draw as both teams will drop points. Out of loyalty to UTD, we should be rooting for a draw no matter what our views are regarding the title race.

I hope Chelsea absolutely obliterate them. They're starting to show just how average they really are.

hmmm... too many cocky Chelsea fans on here.
Before the season and certainly even just 10 matches in, all the talk (especially by match going support) would have been about consilidation, a top 4 finish, a good run in a cup and to just quietly go about business under the radar. Even now, the talk at matches is more of a game by game scenario and nailing that top 4 position.....before any talk of winning the title.
To see posters saying stuff like 'win the next match and we are 90% sure to win title' is cringworthy at best, disrespectful to other good teams, and more Scouse sounding by the day.

Not really. Its a different circumstance, compared to the start of season.
If anything, us saying we can still win the title is more scouse like then Chelsea saying theyll win the title after beating 'Pool.
Hell, us being cocky on getting 4th is more "cringeworthy" by a mile.

That could be so fecking funny, especially if we win the Europa league … you did it to Tottenham Hemil I'm sure you can appreciate the :D:D
then both Utd and Liverpool would be in CL if you take that as positions finished

Liverpool will win this but it won't stop Chelsea from strolling comfortably to the title.

Chelsea usually win these or get a draw. Expect the usual. Especially given Liverpool looking wank recently.

Anyone heard mentioning stuff like title at the matches is told to pipe down because of jinxing it

The only real threats (Liverpool, United, City) would all be 10+ points behind us if we win this game. Title would pretty much be over at that point.

Beat Arsenal the following game & we can afford to play average for the remainder of the season.

This is what I have been saying all this while. Things can change very fast and one of City, Spurs or United could go on a run like ours.

Its not like we are Chelsea from 2005 either, we look like a team that can be beaten with some planning and hard work.

Its not over till we have an unassailable lead.

and then and only about then will the match going support sing 'we're going to win the league'
Have seen arrogance, cockiness etc in the past from sets of fans...Newcastle, Utd, Liverpool etc who had their team clear at the top and were boasting about title being over only for them to fall flat on their faces and look like right mugs

here is one example 21 years ago

It is. But it is also true. Because if they say draw v Pool and beat Arsenal, hypothetically, they dont play either Manchester club until April by which time they'd most likely be home and dry. What is more mental is our lot claiming Jose could still win it even if Chelsea win Tuesday!

but we all know that the results against other teams can go awry...Who is to say whether an inconsistent side like Everton, Southampton, West ham etc wont turnover Chelsea which they are all capable of on their day
