I believe it's a 40% share for the league champions, then 30% for 2nd, then 20 then 10, which would mean it'd be 0% for United if they qualify via being EL winners .

Offhand I don't know how much extra cash that would translate into for the CL group stages.
About £16.9m for 2nd place. An extra £5m or so over 3rd place.

But there's far more for United to earn in the knockout stages after Spurs have been eliminated.

Jose will implement some bullshit lazy defensive plan. 2-0 to them. Us to miss a golden chance early on and then be completely outplayed.

    Romero
    Tuanzebe Smalling Jones Blind
    Fellaini Carrick
    Miki Mata Martial
    Rooney

Enough to avoid a thrashing but still resting key players.

Romero plays as I hope DDG is getting the final.

Smalling and Jones need game time together.

Valencia, Darmian, Herrera need a rest.

Pogba needs wrapping in cotton wool.

Mata, Miki and Martial need game time to play into form.

Rooney needs to play himself into the ground.

How on earth did we used to win leagues, cups as well as compete in European finals? We're going to throw the next 3 league games like they're inconvenient drains on our resources, imagine if we were going for the title and they actually mattered.

Lets hope that Chelsea have won the league by then.

I cant forget the last time Spurs played a game where if they didn't win the game, the title was gone. This thugs will kick us like hell.

So I would just play the kids and give Spurs their feel good farewell game at WHL.

Playing league games to win title or achieve something is different though. Neville said it was the momentum that took them over the line and they didn't feel tired as it all happened so fast in 1999. Don't think that will happen now as we have nothing to play.

You wonder how the media will react if Spurs make the same mess of europe as they did this season?

Jose has alluded to resting players v Palace. Are we playing reasonable teams in the next two games?

Last game in White Hart Lane, isn't it? They'll be so much more motivated than us, but it's a nothing game.

Jones and Smalling need game time as at least one of 'em is gonna have to play against Ajax. Would like to see a few of the youth players involved.

Wouldn't be surprised to see weak team v Spurs, decent (to near full strength) v Soton, weak team v Palace.

And hopefully we see some positive performances from the likes of Mata, Martial, Rooney - they'll be desperate to get in the XI for the final.

    Turn to do goals: Dave
Needs a game for fitness/form: Jones, Smalling, Mata, Martial.
    Missing the final: Bailly.
Too shite to start in the final: Rooney.
    Kid deserving a chance: Tuanzebe.
Players I probably hope to not see start the final: Darmian, Fellaini, Lingard
I'd go with that maybe swapping 1-2 of the last 3 for a kid(s) like Mitchell or McTominay
You can put your house on all 3 starting in the final if fit. And rightly so.

Not sure I even rate any of our U23's bar Tuanzebe. So not actually expecting many youth additions.

Would have been great if we had Pereira or if Fosu wasn't injured.

Hopefully Spurs will treat it like a testimonial, waving goodbye to their ground and all that. They pretty much can't win the league (barring a spectacular Chelsea collapse), and they only need 1 point to secure 2nd place. They don't have anything to really play for. Neither do we, but a flying Spurs would turn our knackered side over, especially if players are protecting themselves for the final.

Hoping for a drab 0-0 with players jumping out of challenges, referee blowing up for every bit of contact and loads of stoppages and timewasting

Is that Levy or the players who would gain that money?
Neither. The money comes into the club (of which Levy is the chair) ... as with ticket sales money or any other form of income generated by the club.

I'd throw a bunch of kids in for this, tell them to go out with no fear and enjoy White Hart Lane.

My own preference would be Blind, Carrick and Martial. Simply better footballers
Blind will play in deference, probably next to Smalling, Lingard would get ahead of Martial for the final and especially since Tony is highly inconsistent. Fellaini will start as jose trusts him and was vital yesterday.

    Play the weans.

Top 4 is gone, we can't be caught for 6th place so we're in Europa League group stage regardless. Can't risk an injury to the remaining squad.

Complete dead rubber of a game, really. Might not even bother watching it. Hard to predict a line-up as I'm not too clued up on our kids and we'll see a few of them...

    -----------------DDG----------------
    Tuanzebe---Bailly----Jones----???
    ---------------Carrick---------------
    ---------???------------Fellaini------
    Mata---------Rooney---------Martial

    Spurs 2 - 0 Man United

With us not having a shot on target.

Two parts to the prize money. Fixed and market Share.

Only for the market pool share is the money different and it's only for half of it.

Half of the TV pool depends on the position that a club finished in the previous season’s domestic league. For countries with four clubs, the team finishing first receives 40%, the team finishing second 30%, third 20% and fourth 10%. If only three clubs reach the group stage, the share would increase to 45%, 35% and 20% (for national associations ranked 1 to 3, i.e. Spain, England and Germany).

For countries with only two representatives through to the group stage, the share is 55% and 45% (for national associations ranked 4 to 6 and 13 to 16). If only one team gets through to the group stage, they would take 100% of that country’s TV pool.

In other words, from a purely financial perspective a club would hope that the other clubs from its country would be eliminated in the qualifying and play-off rounds, as the available money would then be divided between fewer clubs.

The other half of the TV pool depends on a club’s progress in the current season’s Champions League, which is calculated based on the number of games played (starting from the group stages).

Doesn't change the way your players behave in certain matches. Especially in the important ones.
But it does indicate that United are generally the more 'thuggish' team.

The thing with your players is that they become thugs for one game. Especially in important games. You had 5 yellows and one red against Gent, from 12 fouls. Last year against Chelsea you had 9 yellow cards from 20 fouls committed. So basically every second foul is a bookable offense.

Bailly will probably play some of the remaining League games now due to missing the Europa League Final. Not quite sure if we'll see three at the back, but this is a nothing game for us now so hopefully Jose can rest who needs to be rested (Namely Valencia, Pogba, Herrera, Mkhitaryan, and Rashford. Blind, Darmian, and Lingard to some extent, as well). Three at the back is probably the only way to leave out Lingard, Mkhitaryan and Rashford, and I'd like to see Borthwick-Jackson brought back in at Left Back, but Jose might have to pick from the reserve players carefully as they play Spurs on Monday as well.

I'd absolutely love to spoil the party and beat them in their last game at WHL, but resting the first team is more important and this is one of the few times where I'm not too bothered if we get beat. Hopefully it isn't by 3+ goals though, even when playing poorly and resting players we've only conceded more than two goals in a game twice this season (Watford 3-1, Chelsea 4-0).

    de Gea
    Bailly Smalling Jones
    Tuanzebe Carrick McTominay Borthwick-Jackson
    Mata Rooney
    Martial

Maybe we'll see some other young players like Ro-Shaun Williams, Poole, Riley, and Willock make one of the squads over the next three games. I do believe that Jose should play the team he has in mind for the Ajax game against Southampton though, just to keep them sharp - then of course, try to rest basically his entire 18 for the Palace game at the end of the domestic season. Players like Smalling and Jones need the games, and Fellaini will probably need an hour in a League game due to the suspension.

Think Spurs will take this, but not a collapse from us no matter what kind of team we see. 2-1 or 3-1 to them, it is their only saving grace this season now, beating United. They're an exciting young team doing well on a lower budget, but if they don't keep the squad together and win something soon, no one will remember the team that came close a couple of times but ultimately weren't good enough. If we win the Europa League, I'd say we've had a better season than every team in the Premier League other than Chelsea (assuming they do the double).
