How on earth did we used to win leagues, cups as well as compete in European finals? We're going to throw the next 3 league games like they're inconvenient drains on our resources, imagine if we were going for the title and they actually mattered.
Then we'd pick our strongest possible team in all of them. But we're not, so we won't. Simples.

No other midfielder is fit. We should either change formation or play one of the youngsters if we want to rest Herrera.
Play the youngsters, Willock or McTominay. Need to see them.

We're going to lose anyway so lets try something new and save Herrera.

Which probably wouldn't end very well. My point was that we used to win things doing this!

Jose's small squad and lack of rotation really doesn't lend itself to long seasons with lots of games.

I think his squad would ideally be a bit better and/or with fewer crocks. If he had players he really rates instead of Schneiderlin, Rooney, Depay, BFG and Shaw then we'd have coped a bit better.

It's been a season where he's been getting the measure of our squad and turns out that we don't have the depth he'd like.

If we go overboard resting players it could get ugly, especially if Spurs are up for it. I'd rather play a semi strong team Sunday and then go all out resting players for Southampton and Palace.

They would have lost the league by then, and their second place is not under a threat. The game is going to be dull.

Ironically it's one of the few occasions this season a boring Mourinho 0-0 would do me lovely.

It's a Catch 22 in a way. If we go completely overboard, then nobody who will feature in the final starts this game. So who cares if it gets ugly? Worst case scenario is lining up with a few of our best XI players, hamstrung by a bunch of kids and still end up getting humped. That's not good for confidence at all.

Blind will play in deference, probably next to Smalling, Lingard would get ahead of Martial for the final and especially since Tony is highly inconsistent. Fellaini will start as jose trusts him and was vital yesterday.
Going to be another long night if Fellaini and Lingard start in the final. Carrick is one of our most experienced and influential players and it would be crazy for Mo to play instead of him imo, whereas Lingard offered nowhere near enough last night to show that he should start. Martial or Mata will hopefully show in the next couple of games that they can offer far more

Don't have high hopes for the game, starting to feel like we are just limping to the finish line in the league. Would love a win, but mostly just hoping everyone stays healthy for the EL final.

Really want us to spoil the party here, and not have a repeat of what happened v West Ham last year where they played the game of their lives. I expect a 3-0 win for spurs but it could realistically be more with reserves playing.

I would like to see our players play with the freedom of the match not meaning anything.

Fat chance. Will be a repeat of Arsenal. A lazy, defensive gameplan of shockingly negative football. All chance of it working will go out the window when we miss a sitter early doors and then we'll get turned over with ease.

Don't even think ill bother watching this unless several youngsters are getting a run out. Watching last nights game put years on me and the Arsenal game was painful to watch

I think Mata will start, but Jose will want a player who puts a defensive shift on the other side.

Throwing a bunch of kids into the deep end away at one of the best sides in the league isn't fair on them. Managers usually look to protect them by playing a mix.

Will be similar to away at Arsenal. Guaranteed to start are:

    De Gea
    Tuanzebe Smalling Jones
    Carrick
    Mata Martial Rooney

The other 3 sports could be filled by Lingard, Herrera maybe CBJ might surprise a few

    Ah the feck.
We've got another 2 weeks til the final, no need to go overboard resting all of our players yet.

A crushing defeat could have a negative impact on the next two weeks, so we should set out to contain and smother the game at least.

We'll see how the pool arse results come in after the weekend, then from S'hampton on we should forget about the PL.

Its fortunate that our league form has been so shit all season, means that we don't have to care about our league games any more. Shrewd from the manager.

Mourinho's confirmed Bailly will start our remaining Premier League games so he can rest players

    Turn to do goals: Dave
Needs a game for fitness/form: Jones, Smalling, Mata, Martial.
    Missing the final: Bailly.
Too shite to start in the final: Rooney.
    Kid deserving a chance: Tuanzebe.
Players I probably hope to not see start the final: Darmian, Fellaini, Lingard
I'd go with that maybe swapping 1-2 of the last 3 for a kid(s) like Mitchell or McTominay
Lingard turns into a different beast in Finals. I'd defintely play him. See if he's magic in all finals, or just those at Wembley.

Call 11 United fans down from the away seats to play, for all I care.

Injury cannot be risked for anyone important.

That being said, I think Rooney should start all the remaining EPL matches. I think he is due an honorable sendoff.

Give Mata a run to get him some fitness. We'll need him in the final.
Pretty sure Fellaini still has two games suspension correct?
    Young is injured.

Borthwich-Jackson can't play for our first team this season. He was obviously on loan at Wolves(and may still be, there's been almost nothing in the media about him) so we can't just have him return at any point in the season and play him. He was as far as I know still on loan at Wolves around March time and he then played for our u23's because the rules in England allow players out on loan to return and play a game for their parent club at any time if both clubs agree provided it is not for the first team. The rules don't allow a player to return outwith a transfer window and play for the first team as far as I'm aware.

Yeah I see. I was wondering with Wolves being done if he could come back in. He did alright last year, this season hasn't been much fun for him.

Chelsea will wrap up the league on Friday, before we play Spurs. This is going to be a friendly for both teams I reckon.

It's a game against a top 6 team, it's the last game ever at White Hart Lane and also with a win they mathematically secure 2nd place. If you think Tottenham and their crowd will not be pumped up for this, I think you'll be surprised.

After this game they can go on holiday, but this is important to them.

Neither. The money comes into the club (of which Levy is the chair) ... as with ticket sales money or any other form of income generated by the club.
That's what I thought, so although I'm sure the players care about the team... it's a lot less motivating than if the money goes into their own pockets.

Also, wouldn't most Spurs fans rather see United in the top 4 than Arsenal? I'm an American so forgive the question please if it is dumb.

Spurs will be very motivated. We'll be resting the likes of Rashford, Mkhitaryan, Pogba, Herrera and Valencia.
