Positives: Martial had a great chance to score

    Negatives:

    Smalling
    Jones
    Lingard
    Rooney
    Smalling
    Jones

Are we really this crap? I think it's just dawned on me...

No 9 have been abysmal....stop talking garbage...display it how it is

Get a grip and grow up. If your opinion is that the rest of the outfield players have been as bad as Rooney, that's fine.
That's not my opinion. Nobody has been anywhere near as awful as him and that's just my take it on it.

If you don't agree, that's fine. Don't tell me that I'm "talking garbage" just because you can't handle it. If you don't like it, go throw rocks off a cliff or go cry about it for all I care.

Pathetic from sky too. If Fellaini had made that challenge which Wanyama did then they would discuss it non stop during the break.

Got a lot of time for that Bailly backheel tbh. This performance is a joke, nothing will change that. Let's at least have some fun with it.

Herrera looked pretty tired vs Celta, he'd have been absolutely knackered for this. Just not sure the injury risk would be worth it for the other 2.
They didn't. We need to be prepared for EL final. No need to risk anything in a game like this. Especially with Herrera.
Fear from injury is ever-present but ffs we gave up on this game before it even started, we're UTD not some WBA side that's always parking the bus.

Actually, we all know Rooney is done. He will go Major League or Chinese League. Lingard, I have never rated him, I don't know what he bring to the team. Mata is a good players just too light weight and zero pace. We are just like going to a bowling game with the 40 points handicap. I know Jose trying to rest players but this is embarrassing with 33% possession. I will give him one more season even without Europa Cup title. I really think he needs to ship out 5-6 players and bring in upgraded one.
That's exactly what he's gonna do. Give him a chance.

zonal has cost liverpool a chance at the title and we very few englsh teams are good enough to play it - and certrainly not bright enough. it's a recipe for disaster. what we need is top-class players playing in those positions so that they are the ones to dominate
Man marking is much more difficult then keeping your position zonally. Alli and Eriksen are running off the ball and picking up the ball in wide areas, meaning we've got a gaping hole in the middle of our midfield. It explains why Son and Wanyama have been able to just stroll through our midfield without being challenged.

What, not preparing in the most physical league in the world is knee jerk?:rolleyes:.It's been our achilles heel for more time then i can recall, SAF having to play CM in CB, LVG injury crisis and now this. Injuries are going to happen, period. He should've known as he's no stranger to the Prem, unlike VG. Should have bought accordingly at the start of the season. We needed a complete overhaul last year for almost 3 seasons running. That much was obvious to the casual football observer. What Mou bought was just a patch up and didn't solve the root of the problem, too many average players in the squad.

Having more players would have allowed us to maintain the quality of the first team squad when vital players are out injured, giving us a chance to compete or give us an extra dimension in changing game plans where we needed a Plan B. That could have helped massively in our draws. We were too rigid and stuck with doing the same things over and over again that didn't work.
No the fact that he should have bought accordingly. There are rules.Let me remind you as you're clearly uninitiated.

We can't just go out and buy players when one gets injured.

Pogba,Bailly and Mkhitarayan were the only players he bought. Hardly patch up. The rest aren't his. Unless you believe he should have started the season with 10 new players, in which case we'd be 10th
What team and sport have you been watching btw?

Misery compounded by the appearance of Chas and Dave, perhaps a response to our very own Chas and Dave playing at CB today.

It's games like this today which make me long for the season to end and the transfer window to open. Don't know if I'm more excited about new arrivals or potential departures.

Simply no true or you have some serious issues when it comes to effort. The guy doesn't care anymore and we shouldn't either. The club before the players. Also, like he hasn't received anything back...Embarrassing is seeing people overdo it with poetic bulcrap about yesterday players who haven't tried to adapt and sit tightly on a huge contract.
Would you say that Rooney overall in his career has put the effort on the pitch more often then not?

Rooney is the only one on that list playing professional matches at 16 years of age. More mileage and the well known (hypothesis) of young attackers breaking through at a young age declining faster then others.
What does that matter? What excuses do you have for the rest of the team?

Right lads, sweepstake time. In which 5 minutes will Rooney be sent off? My guess will be 5 minutes after Spurs score a second.

    I'll take 70-75th minute.

This match has the importance of a friendly, get a fecking grip.
I don't see it that way and my grip is fine thanks. And even if the manager does see it that way, then play Mitchell or McTominay or both rather than load the team with centre backs.

I am able to sit back and watch this game objectively as I don't feel invested in it like I usually am. In my mind, and probably Jose's, its a good opportunity to assess the individuals when they are outside of their comfort zones without the likes of Pogba and Zlatan to lean on. Here is what I have learned or had confirmed....

    - Bailly actually contributes going forward at RB but wierdly loses some of his defensive instinct

    - Smalling is fine when playing up against a centre forward but not at all comfortable when he is asked to run backwards towards his own goal or play the ball out

    - Jones will always get embarassinly skinned once per match despite being generally decent

    - Blind lacks the dynamism to be a PL LB

    - Rooney. Won't bother, it's all been said elsewhere

    - Lingard is just not up to standard. I feel of all of our squad players, other than the obvious one, Lingard is most out of his depth. I genuinely think you could stick him in a good Championship side and he wouldn't really stand out

    - Mata, sorry this will be the most controversial ones but for me he embodies the problem we have. Too small, too slow, can't press, doesn't have the ability to go past a player. See Carrick, see Rooney, see Blind, etc....too many players who when you compare them to their Spurs counterpart are way inferior physically

    - Martial, said it before, will continue to say it, never a #9
Agree apart from Martial.I think he needs a break, not a break from playing but a break as in a bit of luck. His confidence seems shot.
