Nevertheless, football is a crazy sport. Anything can happen. That's why I'm prepared to relax and simply enjoy it. If at all our boys lose, I hope they will do so with their dignity fully intact.
For me it depends. If we lose because we sat back too much, I'll be pretty pissed off, if we lose because we look "tired" or simply CBA then I'll probably equally be annoyed. If we lose because we've gone toe-to-toe with them and they are blisteringly good then fair play.

This is the night Lingard, Martial or Rashford really make a name for themselves if they score and perform well. Hell, I'm getting close to being on Fellaini's side too, he's grown on me no end this season, even if he still can't kick a ball properly.

Also if we lose I'll have to call in sick tomorrow. Sit near a City fan who's been banging on about how excited he is for this game all week, it would be unbearable tomorrow. Kind of sad that the best way some people can enjoy football is by concentrating on a team they don't support more than the one they do though.

One thing that will be in our favour is the physical prowess. The likes of Pogba and Valencia will outmuscle the Ajax players. That's somehing good in a tight and nervous game. Then, the experience of playing big games must also be in our favour. We have players that have played world cup finals, CL-finals, EL-finals and a lot of big games in the PL. If you compare that to a lot of anxiuos 20-year olds, that must be pivotal part.

Anyhow, then we have Mourinho! The man eat, breath and lives for games likes this.

I can't stop compare the game to this clip from the movie "300" where United are the spartans and Mourinho takes the roll of King Leonidas.

Tonight we win - Aooh aooh!

You are right about Jose. 3 major Euro finals, three wins.
On the other hand, Bosz has never won any silverware talk less of any Euro silverware.
Stats like these don't always determine final results but they do count for something.

He's had another inconsistent season and he doesn't really compliment pogba and Herrera, when he plays well he is very effective but too often he is dead weight and over last four years he has demonstrated he is too limited and will never be good enough.

He probably does deserve to start on Wednesday which is a reflection of how ordinary this team is rather than anything fellaini has done.
Pretty much sums up our season. There's no way he should be in our starting XI but he will be starting tonight in one of the most important matches in recent memory.

Perfect illustration. The Wolves are waiting.
There are numerous people on this forum just waiting for a loss, an even smaller section probably begging for it so they can start new anti-Jose threads. But who cares about them today. we have a EUROPEAN CUP FINAL!:drool:

If we give it our all, we kill teams. COME ON UNITED!!!

This game will go the Juve vs Monaco way.

Young, talented, inexperienced, inventive, energetic side taking on the more experienced, hard to beat side with a very tactical manager.

    It was one sided.

This won't be as one sided as that game but I see United dominating this game and winning.

Reports the front three will be Mata, Mkhitaryan and Rashford.

Looking at my prediction and subs and can't see where Rooney will get into this off the bench. If Jose starts with 3 of Mata Mkhi Lingard or Fellaini I can see Martial Carrick and one of the above that doesn't start all being a sub. Where does that leave Rooney?

I think the rest of the team picks itself. I predict Smalling Blind will be our CBs but feel Jones is a better fit. Jose might surprise us all and leave out Blind.

    Nervous for this.

    Where did you see that?

Im in the minority but hoping Lingard starts over Mata.
Lingard's one of our worst players, hasn't even been working that hard lately in matches either, Mata is the much better option. We need actual goal threat tonight and Lingard doesn't offer that.

We need to do ourselves justice tonight. We have one of the most expensive squads ever assembled and the players have let the fans and club down often this season especially in the dismal home draws this season.

I know what happened in Manchester is terrible and everything but I don't like when the media are saying this should come as a motivation for the United players. They should be motivated anyway regardless, they are in a European final and the future of the club long-term depends on tonight.

We need to do this, we have to do this....C'MON UNITED!!

I know Romero is the most likely keeper for tonight however why won't De Gea be selected? I mean if Mourinho knows that we need to keep De Gea, then playing De Gea in the final would be a no brainer.

That's what I would assumed when Martial and Lingard played on Sunday. Mkhitaryan and Mata played last Wednesday so get a weeks rest and the other two get some time on Sunday to stay sharp. They have more experience as well which I think Jose will really value tonight.

Because Romero got us here and because, unlike a lot of clubs, we have class. I absolutely love De Gea but couldn't care less if him playing the final increases the chance of him staying. Romero all the way.

I am still thinking it could be any 2 from Blind, Jones and Smalling and hoping it will be Carrick in for Fellaini to sit in front of the back 4, but I doubt it. I'm also wondering if JM will go ultra-defensive with maybe all 3 CBs or the dreaded "back 6" we have seen a couple of times recently.

I really hope not to see Carrick

No need to go ultra defensive imo, just play good football, we are better, if we fall back on a negative attitude it has always cost us so far this season.

What did you dream about last night? And what do you think it portends for the final? Please share below and don't skimp on details. Because people love hearing about other people's dreams in great detail. Last night , I dreamed about an old friend walking down a road which I think was out of a film. Think it means we're on the right path. Then again, it's a recurring dream and I've had it on nights when we've lost, won and drawn the game the next day. Not very helpful, I know. Nervous.
Unfortunately I dreamed that we lost 2-0, but Didn't bother and I was very optimistic when i woke up and was sure my dream only came from a fear not a vision or something

The team pretty much picks itself tonight. I would say 9 spots are guaranteed. With the only dilemma being who partners Blind at CB, and who plays with Pogba and Herrera in cm

    Romero
    Valencia Blind Darmian
    Herrera Pogba
    Lingard Rashford Miki

I think the final 2 will be Jones and Fellaini

Doubt Carrick will play, more likely Herrera deepest, and Fellaini higher up as an outlet for when Ajax press, which they like to do but aren't brilliant at.

Mata will play if we decide to try and control the game.

Lingard will play if our plan is to counterattack.
