Griezmann I think is almost certainly nailed on for this summer.

Other than that, I'll think Jose will go for a number 9 (esp if we dont keep Ibra on as it looks like we're doing). The big question there is who fits? Lukaku is bound for Chelsea (and also overrated) and Kane will be crazy money plus I don't think he would leave/Spurs will want £100mil for him.

Mbappe again would be silly money and given we have Rashford, it may over-indulging on young potential strikers.

Strikers aside, a midfielder is definitely on the cards. Bernardo Silva from Monaco maybe. And maybe a left back. I think we're pretty sorted for centre halves at the minute though.

I'm interested to see what people's thoughts are on the cm situation and what Jose will do. I rate Herrera and Pogba very highly and think both are good enough to be first choice, and Felliani clearly has a future here whether the haters like it or not, but even so we are quite light in that department and definitely need someone to rotate with Herrera and Pogba.

Even if I think we're going to play next season with less midfielders (in a more stablished 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2), I expect at least a defensive one (like Fabinho) to come. And we still have to clear Carrick's situation.

I'm pretty happy to just sit back and trust Jose and Woody on this. They did well with the 4 they brought in last year. I think we will strengthen again and the right players will be brought in.I would like another Bailly type signing someone who is a little bit of a surprise package, for me that type of signing is the most interesting

Would love to see the actual list.
Griezman is given.

Maybe Bale?

Also one of his former Chelsea players like Matic or Willian.

We need about 5 players. Hope the money spent on Griezmann won't get in the way of other business.

The most important player to get this summer is a DM. A very good DM will give our attacking players and fullbacks more freedom and license to attack.

There are limited options in the market while we have 2-3 good options in other positions

Personally, I think we need 5-6 new signings including two full-backs, but, in reality it'll probably

1) CB
2) Carrick replacement / controlling midfielder
3) Griezmann
4) A striker

God, I wish I could get to see the transfer list. How formal could these things really be? Written on a post-it? Is there some sort of standardized paper to fill in that the club have? I can't stop wondering.

RB ( Semedo/Aurier )
LB ( Mendy )
Ball-playing CB ( Varane/Marquinhos )
DM ( Fabinho/Dier )
B2B ( Keita/ Sanches )
Goal scorer ( Griezmann )

Sneijder and Gaitan.
I came here simply to write that and wouldn't you know it someone got there first.

On a serious note though I'd imagine it's Walker, Rose, Lindelof/Keane/Van Dijk, Dier, Nainggolan, Griezmann and a striker if Zlatan doesn't stay.

Possibly on the list: Dier, Morata

My dream this summer - while still maintaining some degree of realism - would be to get Griezmann, Willian, and other players that could replace Darmian, Blind, and Shaw.

First, Griezmann. A lot has been written/said about his fit with United, and many in American media (ESPN and Fox) are claiming that he is not a good fit, but I disagree. The best critique, in my mind, came from Ryan Baldi at FourFourTwo. Essentially, using the 2016 Euros as evidence, Griezmann and Pogba struggle playing together. I have two responses. First, as Baldi notes, Pogba has played well in a 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 at United. And, as he also notes, a 3-5-2 is also an option as Mourinho deployed it a few times this season, including against Leicester and Chelsea.

Yet, my second response is related to the Willian signing. If United plays a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 in a very fast counterattack, then Griezmann and Pogba will work beautifully together. The problem with that for United this season - and France in Euros 2016 - is that outside of Pogba, the midfield was dirt slow. A fast wing/attacking mid like Willian, however, could improve the speed of the midfield. Further, signing a player like James would have a similar effect. Consequently, Griezmann could work as a traditional 10 - or even a false nine - if Ed Woodward can improve this team's pace.

Finally, Griezmann is arguably one of the five best players in football. Pogba is one of the best midfielders in football. Assuming Man Utd signs Griezmann, it is Mourinho's job to make those two work together, and I have no doubt that he will accomplish that task.

In regards to the other signings, we clearly need a pacy midfielder, a CB, a FB, and potentially a keeper and another young attacker. Valencia and Bailey are clearly starting caliber Premier League defenders. Smalling has shown excellent potential, and frankly, can also start and perform at a high level. The dilemma is our other defenders have not shown the ability to start and not be liabilities against the best teams in England. I like Romero, and he would start for Liverpool and pretty much every team below United in the Premier League, but I am curious Jose's feelings.

Ultimately, we accomplished what we needed to this year, but next year we must compete for the EPL title and break through the group stage (at a minimum) in the Champions League.

All these people suggesting upwards 5 big name signings...
When has Mourinho ever done this at any of his previous clubs?

Our major conncern is the lack of goals and I am sure Mou wants one striker and one attacking midfielder:

Striker: 1. Aubameyang. 2. M'bappe
AM: 1. Griezmann. 2. James Rodriguez
CM: 1. Fabinho. 2. ??

A left back would be nice and maybe some CB cover, but our defense is not the problem it is our attacking play. A back four of Valencia - Rojo - Bailly - Darmian is still a decent one and we have plenty of cover.

Griezmann, Belotti, Willian, Lindelöf, Matuidi, Neymar, Bale, Ederson, Morata, Dier, Kane, James, Keane, Mbappé, Silva, Fabinho, Schmeichel, Lukaku, Barkley, Nainggolang, Marquinhos, Dembele, Mertens, and Oblak. According to the media. Did I forget anyone?
That's pretty good. I'd add Walker, Bakayoko, Semedo

If Bale is available it would be a big mistake to not get him. For all the players that have left us to their destiny ie Madrid - they ended up taking one that was destined for us

It's probably broken down into 3 choices per position & were probably looking at 4-5 players (depending on departures, like DDG):

1) CB
Van Dijk
Lindelof
Keane (this was straight off a tweet)

2) GK (assuming DDG leaves)
Donnarumma
Ederson
Oblak

3) DM/CM
Fabinho
Bakayoko
Matuidi (based on a tweet )

4) SS/AM/WF
Griezzman
Silva
Sanchez (prob off to Bayern) - maybe James?

5) CF
Morata
Belotti
Lukaku/Kane (too expensive and clubs won't sell)

That's a lot of money!

I don't even have a RB in there like Semedo etc.

I'd be disappointed if we didn't get a good winger in. All else is secondary.
I think a top winger is essential too.. was thinking last night during the match that with a good winger we'd have had an even better result/performance as the middle of the pitch was always so congested.. It's been something that we've lacked a lot this season in my opinion..
Me too. I can see it being Willian, which would be a little bit underwhelming, but definitely serviceable as long as we strengthen in other areas as well.

RW or AMF depending on Jose deciding to play 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3.

Is what I believe will be our signings, if DDG leaves we may go for a GK.

Because Bayern won't sell you one of their best player unless they get a replacement for him, which is unlikely to happen.

Talk about realistic transfers.

Yeah seems to be the consensus, I guess I'm just hoping pl money will talk and lewandowski might fancy a new challenge, Bayern are strolling to that title every year.

Willian would be underwhelming, we need a winger that can beat a player.
