He isn't a pure wide man either, he likes his freedom and thrives in it. Carrasco would be my favorite alternative.
He's not a touch-line hugger by any means but he would be more traditional out wide than most of the players we play on the right.

Seems to be a problem.
Douglas Costa, who's not that good seems to be the best on the market. I can't even draw a hypothetical list of wide players I'd like us to buy.
Dembele?

I'm not saying he's on the same level as Suarez or Messi, I just think his dribbling is similar and I can't think of many better than him at it.

I love a player that can take on and bite beat a man and we seem to lack those kind of players over the last few years.
He's not the only one who can take on a player. Remember Hazard came from that league too, so they are out there. Hazard is head and shoulders above Silva plus he has the goal scoring ability. Dembele,Mbappe are all far better players

Oh sorry I assumed you had common sense to not state something without ever checking whether it's true or not. Next time, I'm just gonna assume you talk bullshit, gonna be easy for both of us.
Wait so we're now supposed to take a guy seriously that was blacklisted for being a bullshitter and then later unblacklisted after he got a few things right? Yeah screams reliable there.
Oh and KM talking about bullshitters, you would know them best wouldn't you? Ever provide that supposed link for the Barca deal?
Don't worry, I've assumed you were a bullshitter long before now, so feelings mutual.

I suggest you stop acting like you own the site and allow people to have their opinions, you're just a mod. A forum is there for differences of opinions.

How about this we both stick each other on ignore and stop derailing this thread any further.

If Pep Guardiola were an architect his houses would have 11 palatial dining rooms and nowhere to take a s**t.

Hopefully this means that we're signing Fabinho. Silva is City bound and maybe Mendy too so would Monaco really want to sell three players to one club? Sign Fabinho up, Woody!

The boy is a special talent. I'm gutted he's going to City but there isn't much to be done about it now. Hopefully we get our first choice targets, the ones which Mourinho wants as I trust him to sign the players best suited to his vision.

But to all those people saying we didn't need Silva, he's not the kind of player any team will be screaming for, but once you have him you'll appreciate his qualities and he will make a difference to any team.

Same mould as me - absolute confidence in rival transfers but absolutely none when it comes to your own. Still haven't convinced myself this one is real yet. All 3 isn't possible, surely!
Haha it's actually true, but I'm a true muppet and believe every signing will happen

You was linked to Fabinho the most out of all the Monaco players, seems likely you'll get him. You've just axed all your full backs sort from Kolarov, you need a LB and I think Mendy will be that player. Those are the only 3 players I can see Monaco selling this summer and you'll have bought them all, quite the coup!

Plenty of overreaction already over this, no doubt he is a very good player but this won't boaster City's defence which is there biggest weakness and is just another flashy player to add to the already crowded department they have.

We do? Costa has been average since his honemoon period at Bayern. Doubt any top team would want him.

I will take Costa. An average first season in a new club, doesn't always tell the whole story about the quality of a good player.

Cool now that you understand it, maybe next time don't try to patronising to those who believe Palmeri.

Be a good signing, but City are already stacked going forward this was never their issue. If I was a city fan i'd be thinking about what defenders they will be buying because that's the problem area not the attack.

We haven't really even been linked with Fabinho though :(

Doesnt make sense on any level for City. They are stocked in the wide and number 10 positions already. De Bruyne, Silva, Sane, Sterling

They need defenders

Mendy would be a fantastic signing for them, Mendy and Fabinho more so than Silva (even though he's very good but much more what they need is fullbacks).

Relax folks.

Jose is way better than Pep in the transfer market.

Look at how long ago he said he said he gave Ed his wish list? That's a guy who knows exactly what he wants to build a winning team.

If he was never after Silva, then he certainly has a good alternative in sight.

Disappointing but no doubt we'll have a muppetastic transfer window. I guess we can't just drop money on this guy, land Griezmann and possibly Morata and have change for someone like Fabinho and a decent CB.

Not sure we really need Mendy with Darmian Blind and Shaw.
Attacking fullback who is good in crossing would transform a side completely. Shaw and Mendy would be my left backs and wouldn't mind selling Darmian and Blind both if needed.

if there's going to be panic every time a rival gets a top player over us this summer (and, hell, it's not even over us, seeing as it doesn't look like we were even interested), then there are going to be a lot of panic attacks on here this summer.

Would you be happy if we miss out on Silva but get Griezmann, James, Renato Sanchez plus a good DM?

I fully expect them to add even more force to their attack other than him and then fill the center of their defense with Harry Maguire and Mason Holgate for 150 million secured by the strong hands of Bravo. :D It's always the same.

He hasn't been as prolific as he was in his first season at Bayern but still been pretty productive (7 goals, 9 assists).

I can't think of many other natural wide players who are able to use their pace and trickery to beat their man on a regular basis.

Thought he was fun to watch for Monaco against City but I can't say he's the sort of player we need. We have plenty of attacking midfielders (even if he's perhaps a bit better). We need proper back ups for Herrera and Pogba. We need a goal scorer to help up top. We probably need a centre back. His position is no where near the priorities.

I suppose it does make sense for City though if he's to eventually replace Silva.

City seemingly have no problem spending loads of money every summer. That FFP has turned out to be a real success.

I'd say we need a top, pacey winger more than anything.

Surely Jose will have known about him for ages, and yes he is a good player and one I'd have at Utd, BUT is he any better than what we have, I mean who would you compare him too at Utd?
Hearing that Mendes is pushing him for City with James to come to Utd, bear in mind we won't know till after the 3rd June at least about James.

The list of potentially gettable players is Mahrez, Cuadrado, Perisic and Douglas Costa. And maybe Neymar.
