Must have been 2006. He was named in the UEFA team of the year that year as well as in 2007 so was probably that season. Can't remember too well but just remember being a huge fan of his back then and a couple of seasons where not just Kaka but the whole Milan team would be very average in serie A and the Champions league before February and then they would suddenly look like the team to beat. Ancelotti seemed more interested in the CL than anythign else back then and seemed to be priority over everything
I think is fine to let them be and cling to whatever confirm bias though that crosses their head. This are indeed dark times for Barcelona and Messi fans so is normal for them to be this way. I'll bet they will cheer on Juventus like if they were hardcore fans since ever and would make a loud campaign in order for Buffon to win de Ballon D'Or.You got to admire the dedication of that lot in that other thread. Despite the fact the Ronaldo looks like he'd win it all this season, they are still clinging to the dominant CL group stage and one off goals.
I for instance think it's not that deluded to claim Messi had a better league campaign than Ronaldo; ha played more matches, scored more and bailed them out quite a few times in the season when they were struggling. Also you have the fact many Barcelona players were underwhelming which only contrasts Messi's figure.
Still I don't consider this Ronaldo league campaign to be bad but what I do consider deluded is to say Messi was better in UCL this season. There really isn't no contest in that regard as to who performed better.
Anyone who says or wants that is batshit crazy.
