It'll be sad to see Zlatan go, he'll be fondly remembered but a deal ahs to be beneficial to all parties and if someone's not happy, best to part ways.

Jose will not risk going into next season without a potential 30-goal striker

Odd considering we haven't even signed his replacement yet.
I doubt its entirely our choice. he hardly seemed nailed on to stay even prior to the injury. Will probably go to LA Galaxy for his final years.

Rooney, Zlatan, BFS, Depay, and Schneiderlin all gone without replacements. Im sure I'm missing someone as well. We will have a LOT of free wages. I can not see it not being a huge summer for us.
Young I guess ? Coming to your point, I honestly don't think it will be a huge summer. Jose said he likes his squad to be a set of 22-23 players. I think he will promote the likes of TFM, Tuanzebe and get in 3-4 quality players.

Ref IBRA, I believe he was going to leave and under that premise there is no way we should turn into a charity.

You really should have signed before your injury, shouldn't you IBRA. Let that be a lesson to all players in their last year. The Aston Villa defender did the same iirc(Vlaar wasn't it?)

Happy with that, he was earning £340k a week, I already found that a stretch given the way he was playing but paying it for him to be out injurred for half a season makes absolutley no sense.
As I said in another thread, I wouldn't have expected him to receive the same contract again, a 6 month rehab/coaching role and then a 6 month playing role. Financially it would make sense to him to take a reduced contract as he's not going to be signing any huge deals at his age with his injury and having him back in January in addition to what we have would be a huge boost and he wouldn't come with a transfer fee either so we could afford to bring in a star 9 and have him as a hell of a luxury during squeaky bum time.

Makes perfect sense to everyone involved IMO and gives him a shot at some trophies with us too.

If we are not offering him a contract, then surely we're super confident of signing 2 strikers.

Just imagine if we fail to get Morata. Aubameyang heads to PSG, Costa to Milan, Mbappe stays at Monaco, Sanchez heads to Bayern, Lukaku signs for Chelsea, everyone else just stay where they are and we start next season with Wayne Rooney leading our line and Rashford as back up.

Actually, a lot of Madrid fans called for Morata to lead the line ahead of Benzema this last season. The word out there is that Zidane is biased for Benzema and Ronaldo also sees him as his ideal attacking partner. Without those factors, Morata would have had a very fair shot at that center forward position judging by his good performances whenever he played. Having said that, nothing should be taken away from Benzema's quality. He had his difficult spells during the season but he delivered enough to convince everyone of his capability.

I am convinced Morata will shine at United if we sign him. He ticks so many boxes for us: height, pace, technical skills, eye for goals, youthfulness etc.
Three CLs in 4 years attests to that. Don't fix it if it ain't broke. That's actually where I'm not hellbent on assessing stats and stats vs. quality of rivals or "just a sub".

He is in a very odd situation. It's almost like Pep breaking up Xavi-Iniesta because some kid looks promising. You don't.

I hope our sources who Sky find can shut the feck up for once. Not a good time to say Zlatan will not get a new contract if we have not someone lined up.
If I was Torino or Real I would say £80M for Morata / Belotti or no deal.

Everyone knows Zlatan was irrelevant for at least half a season and a huge feck off warning sign in terms of being abñe to contribute after. Nothing has changed.

It might have for Torino and Real when they now know for sure Zlatan won't be here and our sources has said that we want a number nine. I knew I would make it difficult for United if I was having a striker the club wanted.

Good, that's the correct decision - we might as well try and solve the striking situation for the next 5 years NOW. We hang around for Zlatan and it causes us all kinds of problems. Loved having him here, and he was excellent, but even without the injury I'd have been in favour of moving him on.

Morata scored 12 goals in Serie A and 20 goals for Real this season. Belloti has more goals than Morata this season and I saw a tweet in this thread which said they want 56 million for Belloti. I would take Morata if he was available for less than 50 million.
Either he's good enough or he isn't, what difference does it make (football-wise) if he costs 50 or 70 million? If he's not good enough then the fact we get him for £20 million cheaper means feck all... And of he is good enough then £70 million is probably around the going rate (like it or not).
