Hopefully this means they'll continue to show all United's games in Sweden just like they did last season when Zlatan was there.
Viasat has always shown all United games during the season, except when colliding on 4pm saturdays.

Notice the white Chev behind, who would be in that?
Rooney - wondering why Victor walked passed him into the red car at the airport.

Yup, which has happened only two times these last two previous seasons, one time each in 15/16 and 16/17.

The one in 16/17 was our shite arse boring 0–0 draw at home, hosting West Brom. I made sure of avoiding spoilers during the day so I could watch the replay in the evening. What a waste of half a day that was. If I recall it correctly, Viasat instead chose to broadcast Chelsea–Crystal Palace (the 1–2 away win for Crystal Palace).

The rest of United's matches have been broadcasted live on Viasat at least since the 14/15, so this was the case even before Zlatan signed for us.

And this pisses off all the other fans in Sweden, annually. Quite amusing, especially as most of them are Liverpool supporters… mwohahahah :D

Good signing this. Hopefully forges a good partnership with the Ivorian hardnut.

Of course, signing a Swedish does guarantee that Viasat will cover United a bit more, which is nice for us United fans in Sweden. Although I personally had hoped we would sign Virgil van Dijk instead. Seeing as that didn't happen, Lindelof has my full support, whom I've changed my mind about in the last few months.

Also, it just hit me that Lindelof perhaps could even be tried in the centre of the pitch. Who knows what José is up to. Remember where you read it first ;)

Who knows. You may be right. Mabye Jose sees something in him for that position.

But if that was the case, I'd assume we'd still be looking at centre halves, because we're in desperate need of some quality in there. Because of that, I think he's being signed as a centre half.

I keep seeing the same free kick from Lindelof being re-tweeted on twitter and have to ask, was he a regular free kick taker for Benfica? Or is that free kick he scored similar to Gary Pallisters on the final day in 92/93 where it was probably the only free kick he ever took?

Yes, Lindelof is indeed being brought in as a centre-back first and foremost.

However, he is versatile to the extent that he can play as a defensive midfielder too. I wouldn't necessarily say as a playmaking midfielder who controls matches' pace, but rather more of a destroyer/reader, with the ability to serve fine key passes once in a while. I think he even played that role a few times in Benfica… or am I mistaken?

Here is a nice article - https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/whats-medical-how-pass-one-and-why-some-players-dont

Test 1: Heart and health
A club medical includes cardiac screening with an ECG, echo monitor and heart health history questionnaire; these may also feature blood tests and a fitness check. The club doctor may include a urine test to detect proteins or ketones that indicate health issues such as diabetes.

Test 2: Musculoskeletal stability
The physio team's in-depth look at possible weak spots like the lower lumbar (back) and pelvic region – areas where hamstring and adductor problems can originate from. They may also check for any defects in function or muscle tightness when performing straightforward moves by using drills such as squats, hop tests and lunges.

Test 3: Isokinetic issues
Focusing on muscles and movements (like the quads and hamstrings, for example), the physios can work out the ratios between the two muscle groups as they work together and identify weaknesses which may predispose injury or have developed post-injury. Knee flexion and extension drills are among those used to check the player’s movement.

Test 4: Deep scanning
In the event of a history of problems, the medical team will have a hospital on standby for a magnetic resonance or ultrasound scan. Scanning units can be used to assess the majority of muscles and joints in the human skeleton.

Test 5: Body fat score
Clubs may use Bioelectrical Impedance technology – a body fat monitor that sends an electrical signal through the body to measure lean tissue and fat. Most professional players are expected to be around the 10% body fat mark. Fat callipers are still used in many instances for reliability, as long as the same examiner is involved in any re-testing.

Test 6: Ergometric sprint test
Does what it says on the tin – measures a player’s speed over a set distance. A result of sub-three seconds for the 20m sprint test would be expected for outfield players in the Championship.

Yes, he is also quite connected but only shares "breaking" stuff soon before it happens
Thanks i always wondered what it entailed

Excited by this signing, as much as I think it shows Mourinho is thinking beyond the short term. By the end of next season I can see Bailly and this guy being our first choice pairing, depending on how Rojo comes back.
Very correct, if things don't pan out with Mourinho at least we won't be in a position like we were with LVG or Moyes and have a lot of dead wood, ofcourse it's providing his signings don't straight up flop. Based on last season's signings and his track record I feel like we can be fairly confident. If things go tits up with Mourinho I'll definitely appreciate the fact he's trying to plan for the future.

Welcome Victor.

I really hope he meets the high expectations fans have of him. Hopefully he can form a formidable partnership with Eric.

One signing down. Three or four to go. The sooner we get the rest of the players signed, the sooner we can start looking towards the new season.
