Our main newspapers are saying Sporting will buy Marcos Acuña for around 11 million euros. Any info on him @IFC 1905?

I like him. He's been playing for the national team. I wouldn't say he's a great, great player but he has a lot of sacrifice in his game, and that's appreciated. I think he's one of those players you wanna have in your squad. He's great defensively, and not that bad ofensively.

Yesterday he scored a goal in a crucial game for his club. And you can see he has some quality as he shoots with a good technique and trying to put the ball exactly as he did.

Thanks! Hopefully the rumours turn reality

Looking very like Morata, Lindelof, Matic and Perisic. These are good quality additions in the most needed areas. 200m pounds doesn't buy you much these days does it.

Gylfi anyone??

Scores a decent amount of goals and he is a quality set-piece taker.

I know he isn't in the World class bracket, but i doubt we will find one who is and we could really use a goalscoring AM behind the striker.

He's Swansea's most valuable asset. I don't think we should splash £30-35m on him. Mata is better anyways.

I think a window of Lindelöf, Perisic, Morata and a DM would be decent enough and would definitely

Worried now. Not because we didn't sign players( except lindelof), it is because that all our potential( according to press) targets becoming too complicated to finish. For perisic we must overpay, for morata and lukaku hugely overpay, fabinho( are we really interested at all?).
What is backup plan? I am afraid that this will end like those 2 summers with lvg. Spending 200 mil on squad rotation players.

If Inter need to recoup €30 until end of June for obeying FFP rules, then it means that for FIFA the season closes down on the 30th of June.
If we do go big and splurge before July 1st, won't that affect the balance books? May be some clubs are not doing all their transfers before July so it won't affect the balance sheets.
I have no source to back me up - I'm purely speculating, but it does make sense to me, that this could be a reason for delay.
Trying to sign Perisic on the cheap + Lindelof, that's €65m in fees, which is not so much, I think

I'll be honest and say that Perisic and Matic are players I really hope we avoid along with Dier. Morata I am not overly enthused with but we are in dire need of a number 9. Think the first two are nailed on to be honest, if not Jose's first choice options.

Find it very hard to stomach that the likes of fabinho, veratti, aubamayang, James, bernado silva and possibly dembele were all potentially available this summer and yet we wont be getting any of them.

the players we are strongly linked with aren't good. Morata, perisic, matic aren't the type of players to improve us

Going to be another massively disappointing season if those are the only 3 players we bring in (along with lindaloff)

I couldn't disagree more these guys would improve us a lot.

That left hand side looks better with Shaw and Martial there imho.
How many times did you see Martial delivering an accurate cross?
I remember Rashford registering an assist and other cases of very dangerous crosses.

Morata realistically needs to score 25+ goals and hot zlatans figures he managed I can't see that.

Matic isn't the player he was a few years ago which is why Chelsea are happy to sell him to a rival

Perisic I like but he really needs to step up too and get double goals and assists

So we are looking at this right now.......

Both wings look weak to me. Neither of them will offer us any genuine width. Matic was fantastic when Chelsea resigned him but he lost his way in their 2nd season, i'm not sure what version of Matic we'd be getting, so jury will be out on him. Not seen enough of Lindelof to comment. Morata won't bring in Zlatans goals, so we'll be needing Rashford, Mkhi and Pogba to step up. I'd throw Hererra in with that group but he's useless at shooting.

Is the transfer business going really slowly this year, or are we becoming more impatient/obsessed?

He doesn't. In 2006/07, Ronaldo was our top scorer with 17 goals, followed by Rooney with 14 and Saha with 8. We scored 83 goals that season. There's a good chance we could see a similar return next season. I don't think it's unlikely that Pogba, Mkhitaryan and Martial are going to score more next season. If we bring in another attacking midfielder or winger, we could add more goals from elsewhere. Nainggolan or James could provide quite a few as well.

Morata will give us mobility and goals up top. He should be able to compliment our wide players better. Matic is much better than Carrick nowadays giving us stability and continuity in our play. Lindelof hopefully turns out to be at the same level as Bailley. We will be a better team imo.

Just need a winger who will score 17 then!

No, let's say Morata scores 18, our new signings score 8 (Nainggolan for example) and 5 goals (Lemar), Pogba increases his goal tally from 5 to 9 (which isn't unreasonable, if he play in a midfield 3 with Nainggolan and Herrera), Mkhitaryan improves from 4 to 7 and Martial improves from 4 to 8, that's 55 goals and without Mata, Lingard, Herrera, Rashford and Pereira/Fellaini. Is that looking at things too kindly? Probably, and most likely not everybody will improve their goal tally, at the same time, I don't think it's possible that we will be as unlucky as last season.

All I'm saying is, you don't necessarily need that reliable goalscorer, you are completely dependent on. Zlatan scored just 17 goals in the league and was wasteful, especially during the first half of the season. There's also the chance that we sign him for half a year for the second part of the season. Last year Liverpool's top scorers in the league were Mane and Coutinho with 13. Nobody was complaining about them offensively. The key is to give Morata as much help as possible and we have a few players, who can do that. If we add one or two more, I think our team could share the responsibility.

We're not even in July yet so no need to panic over lack of signings we've made. All our rivals are quiet at the moment too.

We've got a couple of weeks before we (and other teams) go on summer tour. If we don't get it done before then things tend to be put on hold and we're looking at deadline day type territory.

Or even Mata on the right and Mkhitaryan on the left. That´s why I think an LB is a greater need than winger, since the first choice XI looks pretty good with either Mata or Martial starting opposite Mkhitaryan.

Isn't that how many Martial scored in his first season for us  but seriously I can't see us repeating that. We need a 20+ goal striker.
We had one of those last season - that wasn't the problem, it was the players behind him that weren't good enough.

The problem is all these guys we are linked with are players that if we sign they need to step up and play at another level than they have been playing at their current clubs.

Morata, Perisic and Matic are all potentially top players in the right system and on form but it's just potential, potentially they could take us to a title challenge but also potentially it wouldn't work out and we'll struggle again next season. It's not a great situation compared to City who are buying genuine top class, ready made superstars. Even Chelsea to an extent are looking decent with Alex Sandro and Bakayoko

I think a lot of people would prefer signing players who will instantly improve us but those players just aren't available or totally don't fit our system so we'll have to wait and hope that the guys we bring in slot into place perfectly. That said if anyone can get players to step up to another level and become greater than they sum of their parts it's Mourinho

City/Liverpool have signed a couple and city seemed to be linked to everyone. Not worried yet but we need a lot of strengthening and it all seems a bit quiet.
Think all major clubs need strengthening this summer. You have to give City credit for coming out the blocks and signing Ederson and Silva but they have gone quiet since then. City like us get linked with everyone.

Liverpool signed Solanke and Salah and we have got Lindelof so no real major difference since then.
