Last line is mourinho and not a close friend, this article is either dictated by mou or mendes. Looks like the stories in media are correct. When Duncan speaks, it is from horse's mouth. Ed will be under immense pressure.

Well Ed could just fire Jose if he wanted. (Not that he should)

It is a little worrying but I hope this is just the calm before the storm. You wait all summer for a signing and then a load show up...

I really do wish we had a DoF like Everton now have in Steve Walsh. Someone who is experienced and can focus solely on bringing new players in.

Woodward has too many roles at the club.

Yeah this is a bad sign. Jose was definitely involved in that article.

I guess things are going badly, but the market is a nightmare this season. City are the only team to have really done any business and one position was a goalkeeper, which they paid very handsomely for. The other wqs done before all the talk of £100m players and everyone being worth about £60m. Its a bit mental but we really do need players in if we want to challenge for the elite tournaments. If that means overpaying we probably need to just do it.

Hopefully there will be some movement this week in time for the tour.

Great article TBH. Only evidence mourinho is angry is one sentence from a close friend who isn't a close friend but mourinho himself, which is obvious.
It's obvious there has been a leak.

After two trophies and being back in champions league? He will have to answer to a lot of people. In the same notion Glazers could fire ed or "promote" him to commercial department only on advise of jose.

Sounds like Jose passing off blame and getting his excuses in early. No change there.

The day this club gets to the point where Ed begins firing managers because he can't do his own job sufficiently is the day we accept this club will be playing catchup for the rest of time.

TBF I can't blame Ed for not wanting to spending ridiculous money on the manager's pets. We've had our fingers burnt too often because of that (Fellaini, Bastian, Rooney's contract extension etc).

I expected Mou to come with new names who'll do us good without breaking the bank. The club has shown, time and time again that its willing to break the bank for an absolute star. However it hesistates when that is done on some Real's reserve.

Both Jose and Woodward critics are already here. As I said , great article.

By the 6th of July last year, Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan were all United employees

With two of the signings being done on July 1st or later.

What would this place be like if it was a Chelsea forum during Mourinho's second pre-season in his second spell? Only Fabregas was signed by this point with Pasalic (who?) being next on 9th July, Costa on 15th July, Luis on 18th July and Drogba on 25th July.

Hopefully this is Mourinho just trying to push deals over the line rather than an actual case of Woodward doing feck all about transfers.

I'm still calm about everything. If nothing has changed a week from now though, then I'll probably get really frustrated. The tension between Jose and Woodward could be every bit as detrimental to our future as the actual lack of signings itself, if it's as bad as that article makes it look.

So this is when people take sides and start abusing the other person?

I think the sensible thing to do would be to randomly take this article as gospel.

That's 2 reports on this issue released in the last hour, there could be something in this.

Well Ed better get it right else Jose will be leaving, maybe not straight away but he will go into sulk mode before turning on the board.

Maybe Mourinho should be targeting players we could actually get without much of a fuss instead of trying to deal with notoriously stubborn clubs like Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid? That should come into your thinking when picking players, we needed to be smarter from the beginning and it doesn't look like that's happened. Buying players from the 2nd or 3rd tier of clubs is the way to do business as has been proven time and time again by the likes of Real, Bayern, even City. We did it last year perfectly so I don't see why we didn't stick with the same strategy.

Its on yahoo sport which is free. I think that is allowed if not i ll take care in future.

The arrogance of the modern elite football manager is breath-taking. Always after another £40m, £50m new signing. Never any thought about what happened to Leeds, Portsmouth and numerous other clubs that paid a heavy price for financial recklessness. Chasing players that are likely to be difficult to recruit. Wanting players from direct rivals. Never taking responsibility for results.

It's embarrassing.
