Totally. I actually have hope we can challenge this season and we were exciting to watch. Posted more today in the footie forums than I have in ages. Early days, but feels like we're back.Without getting giddy, it just felt different. Chelsea last seaon was great, but it felt more like a performance with what we had to counter what we faced.
Today just felt, I dunno, fresh. It felt like we could open them up at will and to see it happen, it just filled me with a confidence I haven't felt in a while. It felt like a United side.
It's better to actually be enthusiastic by that performance than be miserable like the fecks a few posts up!Totally. I actually have hope we can challenge this season and we were exciting to watch. Posted more today in the footie forums than I have in ages. Early days, but feels like we're back.
Disagree. It is probably West Hams best team man for man for a while.nah, we only played against very shit west ham.
The west ham fans were very optimistic before the game about the team they've got.Disagree. It is probably West Hams best team man for man for a while.
We made them look awful.West Ham are awful but it was a satisfying performance.
West Ham were shit etc...They were, but feck it, that was a great watch. More please. It's better to actually be enthusiastic by that performance than be miserable like the fecks a few posts up!
That amazing 4-0 versus Spurs under LVG was the most crushing. Followed it up with with the win at Anfield, securing top four, but then reverted to tumescent zombie football. We have shown many glimpses of the old days since SAF left, all were false dawns. We need to show some consistency now, and hopefully soon teams will fear coming to OT again.
We had a spell under LVG that we were very good. I used to dread upcoming games when that period ended. Finally beginning to look forward to our next game. That amazing 4-0 versus Spurs under LVG was the most crushing. Ditto. Some of those home draws last season were excruciating. Not that I'm getting carried away or anythingWe had a spell under LVG that we were very good. I used to dread upcoming games when that period ended. Finally beginning to look forward to our next game.
My fear is what will happen with a few injuries/suspensions/loss of form for the spine of the team. We have a long season with a lot of games, especially if we make progress in the Champions League.Ditto. Some of those home draws last season were excruciating. Not unreasonable.Ill get slaughtered probably but it's fecking West Ham. Commanding performance against them is what I bloody expect.
I'm delighted but let's hold on until we see how this goes.
If you look at Danny Higganbottoms analysis (was on SkySports.com) of the difference between United with Zlatan up top as opposed to Lakaku you'll see why. He analyses the different parts of the pitch that become the areas that have space by having a striker who plays on defenders'shoulders and has pace. Specifically marked the space between Midfield and defence and the wings as areas where United would be most threatening. Was 100% right too.Leicester last year I think was similar. But I get a different feel off this one, seems like something is clicking into place properly for the first time since 2013.
This was better IMO. We played well at Leicester but wasn't it like 3 set peices in 25 minutes or something.Still say Leicester at home was the best under Jose so far.
We did (Watford), with a very similar set up to today. Its nice to celebrate such an impressive performance, but lets not get sucked into revisionism. We were at least as good, arguably better, a couple of times last season. The Chelsea game has already been mentioned, but our game at home to Watford sticks out to me as well, where we absolutely tore them to shreds, particularly in the first half.
Swansea under Moyes?QPR under LVG.
