Great performance and result. Only early of course but ya couldn't ask for a better start. Delighted for Lukaku, Martial and Pogba with their goals. Matic outstanding and great performances all round. Roll on next weekend.

Absolutely elated with that. Everything went perfectly, really!

- Lukaku scores twice on his debut.
- Matic looks fantastic (I'm seriously eating crow over him already)
- Pogba was great.
- Martial scored and assisted to raise his confidence.
- Mkhi grew into the game and grabbed some assists.
- We scored FOUR bloody goals!

Dominant and excellent, over the moon with that result. Now let's go and give Swansea a tonking next weekend and really show the League we're back with a vengeance.

Bailly-Jones is the partnership to go with for now.

Pogba-Matic were both brilliant. Matic takes MOTM for me though

Mkhitaryan had a poor first half but he came alive in the second and can do special things.

Rashford has to start because of the pace.

Mata was very, very good also. Rarely loses the ball and knows what to do with it in the final third probably better than anyone in our squad.

Lukaku does what Lukaku does. Strong, powerhouse. Running channels, holding up play. Great goals. Loved the second goal. Made the header look so easy. We really should be scoring lots of goals like that this season.

*My only slight concern particularly when 1-0/ even 2-0 up is the left back position. When Shaw comes back in September I really hope he stays fit and gets a good run in this side.

All in all fantastic. So happy right now :)

First observation: Chelsea have done us almost as big a favour selling Matic to us as Wenger did with RvP! I always knew he was good but he was an absolute monster. Hope he can keep it up. The opening 15 minutes didn't seem much different from last season but once we started actually passing the ball forward we looked so much better. It may of course be that West Ham were awful. Great second half showing from Rashford, Lukaku didn't hold the ball up as well as you'd expect from a big centre forward but he did what we didn't do enough last year (killed off games) and you can't criticise him after that showing. Jones was the big surprise, did he miss a tackle? I laughed when Gary Nev said he was a very good CB but he proved he can be. Bailly, who was my player of the year last year, was coolness personified. I do wonder sometimes about Mata. He was very quiet in the first half and needs to put in 90-minute performances like the second 45 he gave. My big worry is Miki. Pretty anonymous, lots of wayward passes and against better teams he's going to be blown away. But maybe it will be him who gives way if we do ever get Perisic. Overall, very good. Now we need to show it wasn't a one-off. Roll on Saturday.

Wow, I really wasn't expecting that. We were superb! Everyone played really well and we looked so imposing which I have not seen for a long time. So much pace too and very little passing the ball backwards and sideways.

I'm trying not to get too carried away but an excellent start :D.

Can't see any negatives in the performance. A few positives;
  • Scored from set-piece
  • Cleansheet
  • Excellent tempo
  • Raucous Old Trafford
  • Scored from open-play
  • Finally have a player score more than 1
  • Mkhitaryan assisted more than 1 goal
  • Defended well
  • Myth that fullback don't attack under Mou dispelled
  • Fluid football
  • High scoring game
  • Varied and quick distribution by de Gea
  • MOTM performances by new signings
  • Had 3 United players in fantasy
  • Predicted 4-0 in predictions comp.
  • Pundits already tipping us to challenge.
Happy as punch.!!

Great performance! Trying not to get carried away but this was very convincing. Considering the depth of talent when had waiting on the bench, today's performance gives lots of reasons to be optimistic for this season. The team and manager are ready to take it to the next level

There's a bit of a first touch of a women after years in a monsetry vibe in here, it was a decent performance, especially the last 25 minutes where we finished them off despite it including the negative Fellaini sub. Pleased to see Martial take his chance when he came on and Matic had a good game, as did Jones.
And you were against matic signing mate.:D

Great performance from the team. Hoping we can continue this level of pressure well into the season. Pre-season obviously paid off, was an exciting game to watch. Something that's been missing for quite some time. Roll on next weekend.

Yeah, I was outraged at Sky because they kept banging on about biggest win in 3 years, and I thought we beat Leicester 4-0 last season, took a bet with my mate, looked it up and right enough, Sky were correct. We won 4-1 against Leicester. Gutted.

I was watching in an Irish pub in Fulham. There was just the video with the audio from that sport of theirs, can't even remember how it's called.
Bit west for you! Yeah they show that hurling stuff too. Real old codger's pub, but it has proximity and cheapness in its favour.

It was an acceptable performance.

Especially happy that Martial scored, maybe he can find some confidence and form and get minutes.

And that new right winger Matic was a revelation!

Too bad Mata won't play much
My guess is that Mata will play against weaker teams, where we will attack alot, to use his intelligence and passing, to create goals, while Herrera will play tougher matches where we need his work rate in the midfield.

Like the way the manager talked about the game, saying it was nothing much, was upset how we let Sakho have chances, etc., just playing it cool and not getting overly excited about it.

Chelsea away at Spurs(Wembley) next week, just make sure we win at Swansea and Conte might be in the depths of despair.
They wont have Cahill and Fabregas either on top of Hazard and Pedro. Hopefully teams take as much points as they can off them before Hazard comes back and Morata settles in.

Not Blinds biggest fan but what a difference without no Lingard or Darmian chocking up the left hand side. Thought we were brilliant from the off today.
