Ralston has probably thought it was a friendly game against Inverness Caledonian Thistle F.C.

So, he naively thought he was capable to disturb Neymar familiar with all the possible an imaginable provocations since his childhood.

He's 18: he will learn

And that idiot Ralston was saying after the match he was just doing his job and he doesn't fear the likes of Neymar and he was prepared for Neymar same way as any normal game. I was angry when he said "I did exactly the same routine (as any normal match but stupid enough to realize this is not a normal match). It's just another man on the pitch you are playing against. I don't put him on a pedestal. You just deal with it". No wonder Scottish football is only good in Scotland. This was a team that went unbeaten in the league and they get to the UCL and think players are the same as the farmers they play against every week. You were kicking Neymar all day but hey you don't put him on a pedestal....Dude you just freaking did. You laugh in his face and you want a handshake and his shirt. The snub wasn't enough, deserved a punch in the face. What a clueless lad! Neymar costs more than the Scottish league. If you can't respect his talent which made you a laughing stock of a defender after shipping five goals, then respect his worth cause you'll never made that in 2 lifetimes.
Calm doon, mate, you're slevering.

They don't like it when they aren't steamrolling teams week in week out.
This.

Can we have Rangers and Celtic banned from football forever?

And Scott Brown forced to work in Lidl part time. Hate that guy.

That player was a fecking idiot. Unnecessary anger throughout the whole match, kept making ridiculous fouls after ridiculous fouls. The worst thing is that the crowd loved it each time. Like cheering him for committing a FK against Neymar :houllier: and then they wonder why Scottish football is shit.
Scottish football is shit because it doesn't get ridiculous amounts of £££££££££££££ thrown at it.
Also, it may be shit but I prefer watching it over the so called big Leagues.
Bunch of overpaid wankers playing in front of tourists more interested in taking pictures than watching the match.

No player is worth 200m, I don't give a shit who they are.
If Neymar didn't behave like a bigheaded prick when on the pitch maybe he would get more respect.
Great player but I have little respect for him.
Fantasy football, the game is fecked.
PSG aren't even Champions ffs.

For those bashing Scottish football - do you realize that Scotland has a population of 5 million people? Do you also know that Scottish football produced United's greatest ever managers?

It's like looking at Neymar and thinking Brazilian football is full of greedy, spoilt brats with fragile egos.

That was 14 years ago to be fair.
Rangers fans laughed at them for days. Since then, they've never looked back.

That award is heralded as the dark era of their history.

They see that award as we see Moyes. A symbol of how far you can fall. It's a cautionary tale to all that walk through their turnstiles.

There is something fundamentally wrong with cheering one of your players commiting fouls on your opponent, over and over again. I mean wtf

Re the Neymar stuff; he's had a pretty tricky relationship with Scotland since the 2011 Brazil match when he accused the supporters of being racist for booing him and throwing a banana on to the pitch. He was actually booed because he kept feigning injury and the banana was thrown by a German supporter in the Brazil fan section, so he was talking shite and had insulted an entire country with his off the cuff remarks.

A Scottish supporters club demanded an apology off of him, which shouldn't have asked for in the first place, but Neymar made things worse by saying that he had nothing to apologise for since he hadn't actually accused anyone of anything. Technically he hadn't accused the Scottish fans, but we're a defensive and precious bunch who refuse to let go of anything.

His remarks at the time after the match were "The entire stadium was jeering. This atmosphere of racism is totally sad."
We all support the Ireland team though?

I hope as a fans sake that they at least take into consideration the fact that he didn't actually touch mbappe. However I think the amount of sanctions in recent times speak for themselves, and a bigger punishment should be handed down. In which case I'll be staying off Facebook for a good while, as it'll be labelled the biggest conspiracy in the history of the world by our fans, and the green brigade will further their cringey credentials with some shitty banner unveiling at the next home league game.

Most fans I know were significantly more excited about the Bayern home game, if that ends up being behind closed doors there will be calls for Celtic to withdraw themselves from the competition, which based on last nights performance they may aswell do anyway.

Well that's because Neymar is a cnut.

I think the first one was after Neymar had just been booked for diving and was gobbing off to him.
He is always diving the little cheat. Lucky for him it wasn't Roy Keane in his prime marking him, then he would have something to really cry about.

no not really. The thing fundamentally wrong is that due to the finances involved you have an 18 yr old marking the world's most expensive player in his CL debut.Ralston played him rough, as you'd expect. Fair play to the young lad, he didn't get sent off and he'll learn big time for this experience. I assume you and some of the others criticising the player, for god forbid, actualy putting in physical tackles on Neymar, didn't actually watch the game.If you did I am sure you'd have been more repulsed by Neymar's constant diving and goading of Ralston. The world's most expensive player getting so wound up by an 18 yr old, he held 3 fingers up to him when PSG went 3 up. He wouldn't shake his hand at the end and even winked at him to rub salt into the wounds. Come on, shit like that ends once the whistle goes. If an 18 yr old kid whose team has just been destroyed on their home pitch can offer his hand at the end, surely Neymar can to.

They can't handle the fact that outside of a piss poor Scottish league they are just as piss poor as the tinpot teams that beat every week.

Scottish football is shit, because a certain club 'Celtic' earns more than the rest of the league combined & has zero competition in it. Not helped by having the game there run by some of the biggest morons in football.

You assume completely wrong. I did watch the match early this morning and I have zero problem with physical play when a team just cannot keep up with the technical level of its opponent. That is absolutely fine by me. I just find it pathetic to resort to fouling in every opportunity as the cheapest way of defending.
I'm not talking about Neymar because for all for his shitty arrogant and cheating attitude, you don't see him hack opponents for the sake of it (just like Costa or Suarez would for instance) and besides just because I didn't talk about him at first doesn't I'm a fan of his antics. Also why would Neymar shake the hands of a cnut who spent the whole night hacking him and his teammates ? Since when does not shaking hands such an issue anyway ?
You're the one who assumed things about me my friend. I have no love for PSG nor Neymar.

In fact, I retract my earlier sentiments. The actions of few-when bad- should lead to punishment for the many but the actions of one?

Why on earth would you voluntarily watch Scottish football? Scottish football should only be watched because 1) you feel pressured to do it because all of your family are watching it, and they themselves are secretly doing it for the same reason or 2) because you get a kick out of being bored for two 45 minute sessions of scuffed passes interlaced with tinny speakers blasting out Vengaboys and Scooter.

Yeah but i dont think that was a dive

That second one is embarrassing. Get a needless yellow card and then celebrate as if you've achieved something  he clearly let the occasion get to him and struggled with the pressure

Neymar refused to shake Ralston's hand at the end, instead laughed and winked at him before being pulled away by his teammates.
Ralston's reponse:

"It wasn't a big deal. I won't dwell on that too much."
"If that is the case, and that is the way he wants to be, then fine. I don't care. Everybody is different so I won't lose any sleep over it."

which one here is 18 and making his debut in Europe and which one is the world's most expensive player. Complete lack of class shown by Neymar here, surely he has been the target of rough tackling all through his career- why get so wound up over this . I could maybe understand his reaction had they lost, and even then I'd be critical, but to behave this way after spanking a team 5-0 is disgusting. If Pogba or Lukaku did this for us, I'd be fuming. You can kick lumps out of each other, dive etc, but at the final whistle you shake hands, it's always been the way.

calling that celebrating is a bit rough. He was trying to gee up the crowd and they responded accordingly. His team were getting badly beaten, he's just ran the length of the pitch in an attack, he's out of position and Barca have possession. He went in too robust and got a yellow- end of. Many players will take a yellow when they are caught out of position. I wouldn't read too much into that.
I though he handled himself well, considering his age and lack of experience. Neymar was trying every trick in the book on him and he stayed on the pitch. His inexperience did show at times, but to be expected. Ilike his aggression, he certainly wasn't intimidated by the occassion. I could see more experienced defenders having big trouble with Neymar this season.

Aye meanwhile 'Super Sunday' really illustrated the quality right the way throughout the Premier League. Another Scottish football thread just filled with arrogance, what a surprise.

Although that tossed Ralston could've been sent off last night. I'm also not surprised Neymar wanted nothing to do with him.

I did have a laugh at the Celtic fans complaining about the difference in resources between them and PSG, forgetting they've a ridiculous budget compared to almost every single team they'll play at the weekend.

Oh poor Neymar.
Is right. He's the classic example of the pampered pouting tish and fipsy louche pansetta that would have been studded out of the game before making it past reserve level in any other era, including those coming in the future.

aye, its hypocrisy. that being said, PSG have two players who's combined transfer fee (when mbappe joins permanently next summer) is more than the "other" 10 scottish clubs have spent on transfers combined. In ALL of their histories.

In fairness it's not just Celtic fans complaining about their resources, it's pretty much everyone, even La Liga president Javier Tebas. There will be a lot bigger clubs in Europe complaining if PSG win this yrs CL.
