FFS some of you in here make me piss.
OK so we have played shite and given away 2 piss poor goals ,but FFS Sack Jose, the PL is gone , get a grip.
Even in our best season we have had shite games, one defeat ( if it ends that way does not end a season)
OK we have tough games after this, we are better than what we are showing here !
It's the same every match day thread. Lot of pissed off people.. :D

The results in recent games have been papering over cracks. At the beginning of the season we were rotating and everything was fine. You could see this coming for a while.
Yes for sure, because we have a number of players who just aren't anywhere near good enough.

Team not being coached anything attacking related. That counter attack when Valencia fecked up it just shows.

I was writing a long long post to explain that first half, but bit like the United players today was finding it too much effort. In short DIRE.

I am not sure that was all about Jose.

What has that rubbish play by guys who are supposed to be professional footballers got to do with the manager in that half? Pogba out, Fellaini out, he puts in the boys on the bench and they play rubbish. Mata can't control a simple ball in the midfield. Goal. Lindelof can't clear an aerial ball. Goal.

The boys need to be slapped. Absolutely pathetic display.
I agree. This is on the players, not the manager. He put out the best side he could. Only Rashford might have made it better, but he might not have wanted to chance him after coming off in Lisbon.

The problem is both the players and tactics, we somehow mess up simple passes, and take an age to play a pass.

Where is the interplay, we are playing with no team cohesion. The tempo is so slow.

Mkhitaryan has been poor lately, coinciding with the games where we've just been unable to attack. Changing him for Lingard today has not worked at all.

    1. Lukaku is repeatedly guilty to being lazy and not making channel runs wide to alleviate pressure. A big target man central when there's no one remotely close to him is useless.
    2. Because Lukaku doesn't do this it doesn't allow any space for Martial to roam central (think what Benzema does for Ronaldo, for eg.)
    3. Overlapping runs don't exist. Players either don't have tactical intelligence to read the game and the run, or, as I suspect, Mourinho de-emphasises overlapping runs out of precaution.

Rashford for Mata, Mkhitaryan for Lingard and Blind for Lindelof. Lindelof should never play for the club again. As soon as we sell Lingard the better. Do not care if he is from the academy and homegrown. He is stealing a living.

Impossible, they defend with 2 lines of players and there is no attempt to disturb them... how do you intend to score 3?
It's time now to play two up front. Rashford and Lukaku with Martial staying left. Rashford will get a couple in second half.

Genuinely think this is what we need - kick up the arse and we will have to change shape to become more attacking now.

We aren't that good, we are great on the counter but we need to do more around the box - zero cutting edge. We need more than one way to play.

    Looking for Eric
Lack of cohesion up front but left footed player on the right and 2 right footed on the left does not help. We look quite ordinary and slow from from front to back. Big Dave only bit of skill in 45 minutes.

I can't see us winning. Sorry, Matic and Herrera doesn't create. Mata has zero influence in the game. Lukaku is isolated. Lingard is another headless chicken and Martial is waiting for a red card to happen. Game over, Jose has no chicken sink on the bench to throw at Huddersfield. Maybe the team is still having nightmare after Liverpool game.

I don't think we've played that well at all this season. The scorelines were great; the performances not so much.
You're not allowed to say that on here! Expect the Mouswarm to be all over you for not towing the company line!

By the way lads...this is further proof that Phil Jones "is the greatest player in the history of our club". Him off, and we concede two!

    Are you watching closely?
Collectively we've been shite. When every single player is shite I tend to blame the manager.

Not surprised though, this performance has been coming for a while.

I might just squeeze out a shit onto a plate and tuck in.

Probably be more palatable than the 2nd half.

Put simply, if you tell the team to park the bus against Liverpool and to scrape a result, what you are actually telling them is that they aren't good enough. They will then play that way. Momentum is so key in football...tell them they are champions, ask them to play like champions and you will reap the rewards.

This is the inevitable consequence of a negative psychology.
Exactly. Parking the bus may get you results short term, but in long run it destroy all the momentum, look how shit Chelsea became after their title winning season, when they park the bus all the time regardless of the opponents.

It's cool parking the bus and not wanting more than a draw against the big teams away, because we'll steamroll the lesser teams and win the title right?

Absolutely nothing good right now. Terrible defending, midfield poor and atrack clueless and isolated.

Said in the week we should have just gone 3 in the midfield with McTominay. This formation with these players just doesn't work

Come on now United! Time to step up and turn this around. We have had these games under SAF before. Remember the Blackpool game. 2-0 down in halftime, but we turned it around and won 3-2.

We can do it, but we need to bloody attack them now with full power! Rashford in and play with 2 strikers. Push fullbacks up much higher and go for it!

One goal in the second half and they will start top shit themselves. Unfortunately I can't see us even getting 1! We've been utter rubbish these last few games. To be honest we've been poor away from home all season.

Despite that poor first half showing, we're still more than in this game and if we get an early goal back, I'd fancy us to do it.

Horrendous peformance. It's been coming actually given our level has been dropping consistently. But we appear to have fluidity and cohesion whatsoever and have resorted to either zombie passing or hoofing it aimlessly.

We could be 4/5 points behind City after today despite easier fixtures. Bummer.

Also, our defending for the two goals was certainly special.
