I was too lazy to check but I though that N. Hof didn't had anyone like Seeler linked with him. Wow.
He also had Schulz. Of course mazhar/2mufc0 could’ve steered into completely different direction tho.

Was a great find from mazhar to get us out of the mud pretty quickly.

Plessas- Barber - Hof - Seeler Beats the helluva Aldair-Zico-Torres-Kaiser.

I know this is going to hand another wunderstar to Lord Jamballs over there but I've an essential gap to fill so feck it. Hopefully I don't draw him!

This draft's made diarm rich, if nothing else.
If Uwe Seeler had come to Cork a year earlier I was going to say feck my defence, pick George Best and leave him stranded in 1970's Cork Celtic!

Karlheinz Helmut Förster.
That is a great pick. Should be really tough to beat you now

Edit: Enigma would have loved that pick as well. Feck, two invincible squads if he makes the obvious pick. Hope you don't meet up till the final.

Are we allowing players from the losing teams to be picked? Thought they would be blocked

Uwe Seeler was picked by @Šjor Bepo and me

The 4-4-2 dream lives on then.

Not necessarily for the next match, but Rijkaard - Matthaus is what I was looking from the off.

Speaking of der Panzer - he's my next pick:

Dropping Zico?

Let's take him down, @oneniltothearsenal
Maybe Rijkaard as CB ;)

Not sure yet, depends on who I face.

Have plenty of options really. Can drop Iniesta with Kalle on the left and AdS on top (can afford to lose his influence in the middle with that midfield) in 4-2-3-1..

Or not change anything since I really like my team and have Matthaus as a sub.

It's good to have the next opponent guessing the lineup that's for sure.

Frankly didn't expect that. Especially with Stam and Kaiser already there.

I thought he'd definitely go for a left back or Matthaus himself.

Wouldn't mind facing Lord Sinister next, before he fixes that left back of his. :nervous:

Shame Enigma Shame. Especially for Lothar, I have a friend who loves Lothar and every Euro and WC there is a game he breaks out his Lothar shirt from 90. I should replace it with a Zico shirt this summer when he isn't looking even though he won't get the joke completely (it will still wind him up though)

I would have done exactly what he did. Getting a LB wouldn't have made his lineup anymore balanced, something that needed to be fixed immediately.
He can now happily drop Ribery and give Franz the platform he deserves and Messi/Maradona the space they would kill for.
Ziege while still the weak link should no longer be a very big liability in 5-3-2. Can wait 1 more round before fixing that.

Also, I am glad Lord didn't get Matthaus. That would have been an insult to injury for me

You have hereby declared yourself as Sinister's AM. Expect your vote to be discarded, we are very strict regarding that sorta stuff.

Quite literally the best midfield duo there can be for a 4-4-2.

I would rate Matthaus + Beckenbauer a notch higher. Never been a fan of DM's in a 4-4-2. Rijkaard wasn't exactly a Makalele, but I would still rate Kaiser a better partner there.

Yeah, Rijkaard and Matthaus would the best for 4-2-3-1 but in a 4-4-2 one needs to be a playmaker.

Had that midfield a few drafts ago, and got criticised as Rijkaard wasn't considered a big upgrade on Desailly.

Unless you had Sol Campbell at the heart of your defense, nothing wrong in adding Rijkaard with Matthaus or vice versa no matter who they are replacing.
Too obvious?

That’s the worst he could do if he wants to get the best out of Maradona and Messi - by cluttering them together in a 5-3-2. Not to mention that means Ziege manning the whole flank on the left which in an all time QF is to put it mildly - underwhelming. There were two very good options - one from your team :)

Tactics go out the window when you talk like that about Dietz. I would agree with the rest of your post even without reading.
