We need to be careful, Newcastle are more dangerous than they look. Thankfully we have the lead, so we can pick Newcastle off when they come for us.
Your sentence would seem right if it was Real or Bayern instead of Newcastle. Pitty how far we've fallen.

Calling our players and manager shit and constantly being negative isn't something our fans should aspire to. Moaning culture in here is rife and a lot of the time out of order and embarrassing.
It is what it is and just calling as i see it No exaggerating or OTT moaning here. We have constantly performed badly for a few matches now and smalling and martial saved our blushes. it could've been 3-2 right now to them. The start where we struggled to even play a simple pass or had no midfield was crap. Same goes for the defence. That was schoolboy stuff right there

When will we actually have a full team to choose from. I'd like to see that happen in the next few weeks. Just have everyone fit and ready for selection.

I'd go out on a limb and say we would be pretty decent and have ALOT of depth for the Christmas run in.

This place moans about us being too disciplined and we should start both Martial and Rashford. Within 20 mins people are moaning we're shit defensively and Rashford should come off

Newcastle very good at neutralizing Pogba and Matic by having Joselu and Gayle marking them. When that happens we need Lindelof and Smalling to step up as support for our midfielders, instead they never did that in the first half bar the one time Lindelof created a chance for Lukaku.

Hopefully the game will be more open in the second half, which should suit us better.

If holding the team to a higher standard than others and wanting the team to do well and play well is being a rival fan then you're seriously deluded. We have been crap this season consecutively.
Yeah, clearly. The fact that we're currently second in the league table whilst performing as a crap football team only bodes well for the future.

Can't wait to see how where we finish after we upgrade from a crap team to an average team.

Not sure why ALL of our attacking players are swarming the left side of the pitch. Just makes for some major congestion.

Would like to see Rashford run at defenders from the right side and give us some balance.

At the moment our best pairing has to be Bailly-Rojo. Absolute wall.
True. How long is Bailly out for?

I just think it's a bit much asking Lindelof without any confidence whatsoever to go into a back 4 with a super attacking line-up that offers next to no cover. Why the need to field Mata when we're going with essentially 3 attackers and a superstar midfielder. That's plenty.

Good response but our defending is so, so poor. Shaw gets put through hell day after day but Lindelof keeps getting chances while not looking comfortable (or able to stand) in the slightest. Can't wait until Rojo is back playing for us.

Mata, I like the guy, but he's like an overgrown fingernail. There, but serving very little purpose except to scratch your eyes. Mkhitaryan has been disappointing but at least he can offer some quickness. Even Lingard can supply that.

Pogba with an impressive assist, made it look ridiculously easy. Martial looking like he has a real point to prove.

Don't know how this half will pan out. I would get Mata and Lindelof off and replace with Fellaini and Rojo. Won't mind seeing Ibra as the third sub, either.

Well we've been leaving big spaces in behind which the pacey Newcastle players have exploited, so it's not even about the quality of team. Any pacey team will cause us trouble if they can in behind which they've done. We don't need to urgently chase the game now, and that's where our quality can now shine through because Newcastle's strength is their defensive organisation. That's been shattered now.

I'm desperate to see Ibra on, in the No10 role. Finally, we get to see just how good he is when he is the one pulling the strings.
He had been dropping at 10 all last season contributing in the build up.

    What's strange?
    "I don't think so."

It is clearly evident how many people refuse to see the fundamental problems we have, particularly in attack. We have missed Pogba, that is obvious but we have looked completely useless against any team of note, that includes Spurs which was a random flick on goal.

This game is proving nothing, Newcastle have been cutting us open and we are hardly creating an abundance of chances for our striker. When we start to do that, and perform like an actual proper team in the bigger games, then we can say we are getting somewhere.

    Thoughts?
I still think we're a mess, regardless of it currently being 2-1.

Do you watch us as see a team that looks like it knows what it's doing? I don't. It's just a little bit of magic from an individual which seems to be getting us the goals.

Yes, all goals count so it doesn't matter how we get them, my point is our overall play leaves a lot to be desired. Not enough cohesion and fluid football.

Every time we play simple attacking football with crosses in the box, things happen. Why not do it all the time ?
Because "it's not beautiful". It's working, and I expect it to work more often than not when we need a goal.

Pre-game, excited with the very attacking looking team.

20mins in - suddenly very concerned

Now - looking forward to turning it on a bit more.

Need a Lukaku goal, and then bring Ibra on for 10mins to take the roof off.

He doesn't use his brains when he is on the ball and always has a lapse of concentration in him where we conceed.

    Not a intelligent footballer.
    Ah, i agree.

TV2 were sending clips of Newcastle taking out Pogba and Matic in our build up play, and the importance of having centrebacks that can go forward with the ball. Needless to say, Smalling got slaughtered for his sideways passing

The way United are playing (hoofball and crosses) Afro would be better suited to the game than Mata. Even when defending, Mata gets shoved off the ball too easily while Afro is like a tree, hard to get around him. Mata is a good player, but does not fit in to Mourinho's style of play. No wonder he sold Mata to United.

Lindelof made the right read but slipped. That's pretty shite fortune on your first league start.

Newcastle are throwing a lot of players forward when they have countered and it's been an open game. Matic has been bypassed easily. Another United goal and Jose will bring on Felliani.

Mata, outside his urgency post Newcastle goal, has been nonexistent with Rashford.

Ibra for Mata after 60 minutes, lingard for rashford to play on the right later too. Seems well balanced.

Mkhitaryan, Herrera and Fellaini would have been better choices today IMO. Mata has been really poor this season. Has not been consistent in his time here and is nowhere near the level of the other midfielders at top clubs. It might sound harsh but he needs to go.

Cannot lose or draw this game now, City will be pulling far ahead from the pack if United gets anything less than 3 points tonight.
