You make is sound like Lukaku is a target man. Sure, he's good in the air, but that's a bonus. There're many other ways to get the ball to him.
I totally agree, he's not just a target man at all - but he has scored a fair few goals from headers this season/off the back of crosses. If we added another crossing dimension to our attack, surely we'd just be adding to the chances he'll have to score.

Like who though? Wingers are a rare breed right now, if we can get him for around 25m that’s an absolute bargain. We can afford another at that price anyway!
A certain Unhappy Willian comes to my mind.

Lucas Moura is not good enough for United and 25m is not an absolute bargain. Paying 25m for a player that would really strenghten your starting XI now that is a good bargain. But 25m for a player that has not convinced in the frenh league, has a huge risk of turning out to be nothing better than a benchwarmer for us and is transfer listed by his club, is not a fecking bargain.

Also seems PSG is asking for more than 25m...

I'd rather we steer clear of Mourra, he has already snubbed us for PSG and that move turned out to be a dodged bullet for us. Spend our money on players that would be a real improvement. If we can't get anything better than atleast try to take him on loan for a season with an option to buy so we can atleast see how he would work out before waisting so much money on him.

I don't think we should focus on signing an old-fashioned wideman, especially if we are going to play a 433.
Martial have improved his crossing and Pogba is a good crosser of the ball. Even if we want to add more width and crossing to the team, I think we should bring in a quality fullback instead. The new attacker can focus on ground play and scoring.

This bugs me too
He was sold under LVG who doesn't like certain profiles. Can't make sense of Moyes' management at all.

Right now with how the transfer work (Ox fee with one year left on his contract), buying Zaha would cost 40+mil. If report of 25mil for Moura is right, then er can see the reason.

Maybe a proper winger at the club? seems I'd be in the minority, but I'd be excited.

Sources for links seem pretty weak at this stage though.

To be fair, although it worked, our football was pretty tumescent at times in that period, because he went for that sort of style. The great man worked well with what he had, but it was ugly stuff that had plenty of us underwhelmed.
Yet here many are moaning we could be getting a dribbling speedster with basic passing. like it isnt the one thing this side lacks down the right. An unappolgetically direct threat.

Every time i read comments on here his status becomes worse...earlier in the day he was described as the brazillian Walcott but now he is the new Bebe.

Not excited at all

We keep signing these players and are than surprised we can't keep up with City...
City’s last memorable January signing was Wilfried Bony. You don’t get world class players in the exact position you need in January. This guy would at least offer another option with the potential for more in the years to come.

If we can't sign the right players, I'd rather we don't sign anybody.

Feels like signing someone to sign someone and we will probably end up overpaying for a player that will end up as another turd that won't flush.

So, just what we need. Another low IQ footballer. He can join the Pogba, Rashford, Martial group. They can all go out for a brainless chicken takeaway after training.
So you list a group of black players, accuse them of being unintelligent and then throw in a tangential reference to chicken in just to make sure we know how you really feel huh?

He does seem to be awkward with his dribbling though almost like he's barely in control - would be meh a signing if indeed his footballing IQ is as low as people suggest.

Nah, there’s many more of us, it’s just that the naysayers talk the loudest, as usual.
From what info I can gather (don’t follow the french league myself) he’s been playing quite good up untill this season, where he has hardly played at all, but who would, with PSG’s attacking line.
Just because you’re second in line behind Mbappe and Neymar doesn’t make you a flop.
I really hope we’re signing him this window, convinced he’ll be a boost to the team.

Why should we sign underperforming players just because they're cheap?
The same logic was being applied to the Barkley transfer as well.
Its not what we need at all and this will die a death by the end of the week.

If we are interested in Lucas, I reckon he will come in initially as first choice RW, but we'll move for a better one come the summer and he will be a solid squad player. I just think Bale will happen in the summer.

Under a tree.
I would take him, his game has always seemed more suited to England. 30m nowadays seems cheap, that said, hopefully its with addons, and we are not bending over to PSG.

Yes, he didn't exactly join PSG last summer here.
His European career looks exactly like Matas or Mkhis, large disappointing spells followed by.a short run of form to fool you into thinking there's something there long-term only to be easily replaced not long after.
We have enough of those and that's why I'm confident this is all BS. Jose isn't going to waste transfer funds on this.

His stats seem to have been getting better each season until he got benched this season. 18 goals last season in all competitions is decent for a wide player.
