To make it happen, Real needs to get Kane pushing for the transfer. If Kane stays indifferent/happy to remain in the club, I could see Levy turning down everything below 200M pounds.

Yeah I think he’ll end up Ronaldos replacement as a Madrid main source of goals.

Inevitable link this. Madrid need a replacement for Benzema that fits their style and there are none better than Kane.

I’m living in a football manager simulation. Can’t believe an Englishman might just be the most expensive player ever, and leading the line for Real Madrid :annoyed:

I think Levy and Florentino get along after all. I think if Levy is resounding and clear in the beginning, saying that they do not sell, -by the new stadium + having the flagship player - there will be no soap opera in the summer.
However, I do not think that Levy will make Florentino look bad, making him negotiate until the end of August and then saying no.
About the player, I do not know if he is so loyal to endure that kind of offer. Not every day a club offers 200 million pounds for you.
Do not you think United could offer 200 too?

He costs the same as 20 bottles of Casillero del Diablo?!

Woodward, you know what to do.

We should go head to head against Real again. Whatever they offer we can offer more. Maybe offer Blind and Darmian to sweeten the deal for Spurs.

£200m for the best striker in the world? Worth it.

£200 is a bit cheap for Kane in my opinion.
I think it's a fair valuation - pretty much Neymar money, understandably Kane is also much less of an icon and a marketing force, and I guess it's quite flattering for Kane to be regarded as as valuable as peak Neymar.

Could Spurs afford to turn 200M down, though? I guess they could.

Weak sources but it's predictably Madrid will for either him or Hazard or both. They need a complete overhaul of their attack and it must be hurting Perez to see Barca are throwing money here and there on top players.

Nowadays you don't even prepare bids. You are just willing to prepare bids.

You missed the joke. Title of the thread said £200 until @Samid edited it to say £200m

I'd be pretty gutted if we spent £200 mill on Kane. Obviously he's phenomenal but we could use that money to upgrade players elsewhere (ie buying a CM to complement Pogba). We also have Lukaku who isn't bad whatsoever.

Real can have him.

Madrid made a Welshman (Bale) the most expensive player ever, I'd say that's even more :annoyed:

Going to be interesting to see how his World Cup goes. Chances are he'll be shit, like every other Englishman usually is. But as we all know, that's less to do with his quality and more to do with England being shite.

Wasn’t €222m equivalent to £200m at the time Neymar moved from Barca to PSG? I know the £ has strengthened slightly since then but fairly sure it translated to just over £200m at the time, so he’d be the second player to move for that fee if it were to happen.

£198m

Levy wouldn't even sell us a virus so no point even trying to start negotiations with him. If we are to waste time chasing unrealistic targets then I'd rather prefer it being someone like Verratti.

Why would he want to leave Spurs?

[/Glaston]

Indeed. Can’t wait to hear all the positives about staying at Spurs on a wage that some Top 4 squad players earn, under a manager who has outgrown them while other players get itchy feet.

feck Spurs, if they received £200m from Real Madrid for Kane so they will invest £200m in rebuilding squad to become even stronger. I hope Harry Kane will stay at Spurs rest of his life.

No thank you

Last thing I want is United inquiring about Verratti and PSG triggers Pogba’s buyout clause

I don't think he'll leave the country, he seems reluctant to leave London never mind England.
I think he joins us or City. Levy can mess about and be a tough negotiator but when you're talking 200m plus then there's little you can say no to.
Say he wants Utd and has 2 years left, do you take the money or risk seeing it halved in 12 months?
Your hands are tied more with the likes of Kane, Pogba, Salah etc than Bale, Ronaldo back in the day. You could be talking transfer fees totalling the worth of EPL clubs as a whole.

No way we’d be trying to buy him. We would have to offer Lukaku to them if we even considered it, as having both would be wasteful.

I’d honestly give Lukaku plus £100m for him though. He’s gold.

Worked so well last time when they had the Bale money. Kane is world class and you can't replace his goals and contributions overnight.

Replacing Kane's goals will be hard and signing a centre forward for them over the past few years has been a weak point - €30m on Soldado, €22m for Janssen, €14m on N'Jie. It'd be hard for them to become even stronger when first they'd have to spend a lot to get back to where they were originally with Kane's output.
