Given our lack of creativity I have changed my mind and would take him on a free on a three year contract. Don't like too many attackers closer to the age of 30 in the team, but selling a 30 year old Mata in the summer and upgrading him with Ozil on a free could work out for us; even when you know that Ozil's current excellent form is due to him looking for a substantial sign-on fee and contract in the summer.

Lemar and Fekir would be my top choices. If not them, Ozil will be fine.

I think Wilshere will be free agent comes summer? In that case, nothing Arsenal can do, or us to be blamed as they failed to extend their players' contract

I would jump at the chance to swap Wilshere and Herrera, Ozil and Mata, Darmian for Debuchy, Rashford for Welbeck

We should get him for free in the summer. We don't have enough creativity in our team but a lot of goal scorers. Having both Pogba and Ozil on the pitch should take care of that issue. With Mkhi leaving and Mata following him soon in the summer, we'll need one more player either on the RW or in the No.10 position depending on where Sanchez plays. Lingard can't be the sole option. Ozil will make perfect sense to us.

Ozil also doesn't have too many options. Madrid and Barca won't want him. PSG and City also won't be interested. That leaves Bayern, Juventus, Chelsea and us. Bayern and Juventus love their free deals but they won't be willing to match his pay demands. That leaves Chelsea and us and I'm sure he'll join us over them. The last option would be to stay at Arsenal but why would he want to stay at a club that's out of the CL and won't be back in it for the time being.

He is indeed. Actually didn't know that. I'd have him here...though I wonder if City might fancy him.

Merson was on about arsenal want him to take a pay cut for another contract. Though Merson talks alot of shite obviously.

Wilshere still has alot to prove...but I'd happily take a punt for nowt. There is definitely a top player in there if he gets his head down.

Given his recent form I expect arsenal to make him a good offer and possibly tempt him with captaincy.

On paper that's better than what City have IMO. Add Alex Sandro at LB which is more than feasible and United would have a scary good starting XI.

If we can get him for free in the summer Ozil would be a great addition, adding that creativity Manchester United have lacked at times, especially without Pogba on the pitch. We most definitely need a Ozil type player in the summer. United are improving in terms of goals and chances taken compared to last season, but we need more chances created - Hence Ozil. This type of player is all we really need in attack now, someone other than Pogba that can create exceptional passes and opportunities. Oh, that and possibly a player that can cross.

Mourinho needs to get in contact with him convince him to wait out his contract because at the minute its looking more likely each week that Ozil will sign a new contract - I mean he would come on a free what could go wrong, as long as he gave 100%.

Would swap him for Mata in the morning, he's certainly an upgrade. He'll be a far cheaper deal than Sanchez, would likely cost United about £50m over 3 years. United would probably get £15m for Mata and would saves another £20m in wages in that 3 year period.

I reckon it's a no brainer. Replacement for Mata. When we play 4231 he'll be perfect. If he can fit in 433 he's be the only signing we need, if not we need someone who'll fit into 433 too.
