Oranges causing problems, I see. We're simple folk on here. Throw us an orange or a seagull and we're flummoxed.

I don't get the oranges quote. However I'm still worried that Sanchez chose United for the money and not for footballing reasons. It seems too good to be true. Like Rio said City are the better proposition currently and although it hurts me as a United fan it's difficult to say otherwise. Honestly hand on heart what can we offer from a footballing perspective that City can't? Its a bigger risk joining United and if Sanchez really wanted the move to challenge himself then I really respect him for it and I hope he can help bring success back to the club.

I think Mou says that the other clubs wanted to sign him but could not and were content with other players. Aka Chelsea and Andy Carroll lol.

We must consider that Alexis' decision has been brave, he could have chosen to play in the City and practically secure a trophy. He took the most complex decision, endured the hatred of Arsenal fans and his trauma with RVP, and came to play a team that still needs to improve certain aspects, with the legendary number 7 ... which means enormous pressure.

He chose the most difficult path, a brave guy.

It’s a very simple analogy. You’re also vastly underestimating the pull we have as a club.

I would have found it easier with potatoes.
I hear you. Although they don't grow on trees. He would have needed an entirely new metaphor. Problematic. I'm picturing him with a plastic cow and the Caf in the role of Father Dougal.

Looking forward to seeing him next season at Anfield seeing nothing of the ball and getting totally frustrated as Jose plays a 9-0-1 again in a vane attempt at impressing the football world with a 0-0.

United are a miles bigger club... simples. The prestige that comes with that cannot be underestimated, just look at how pleased the press were back in Chile about him choosing the famous red number 7 shirt rather than the shitty oil club.

If you don’t get the orange quote you’re a bit simple.

All the talk about how Sanchez could have joined City if he wanted to win trophies as he's guaranteed one this year is baffling. Are they completely forgetting he's had almost no part in this win? He's a winner, if he wanted easy titles there's a lot of other teams he could have joined. There's much more honor to be had in adding that little extra we need to turn us into challengers.

He's also already played under Pep and wasn't all that good. He's always been a player who thrives with some more freedom like in a Jose team, rather than being expected to attack in a certain tactical manner like under Pep.

Is this in response to De Bruyne who said that City are not bothered and they’ll be fine anyway?

I think the only explanation for it is that the relationship between Guardiola and Sanchez isn't a good one. My feeling is that they didn't have a good relationship and it affected Sanchez's form at Barcelona. Getting dropped for Tello in a must win game vs Madrid says it all. I've also seen a clip where Pep subs him off in a game and goes absolutely mad (probably for giving the ball away) If he really wanted to play for Pep like the media claim then United's offer would've been irrelevant. Sanchez is more of a flair player and doesn't suit the passing game that Pep insists on.

Of Course money isn't the only factor in coming to United but if the above isn't true and there weren't problems between the two of them then money might've been the deciding factor.
Or maybe he just didn't suit Pep's style? Pep is very specific in what he wants his attackers do, some players thrive with freedom.

FFS if he wanted City and City only he'd have seen out the next 3 months at Arsenal. It's stupidly fecking simple.

Honestly sounds to me like Sanchez wanted the top fruit (City), "but couldn't get there", so he settled for the lower fruit (United).

fecking hell
No it means that Alexis is the orange fruit for Man City. When they found out that they couldn’t get him, they made it out as if they didn’t want him anyway.

In short, Mourinho is saying, bitters will be bitters.

Alexis played about 40 games with Guardiola ... he had a tendency to replace him with Pedro. I do not think it's a relationship as close as the media says.

This guy snubbed City when he chose Barcelona, snubbed Liverpool by choosing to play at Arsenal. And now again he snubs the City. LOL

So this is a topic being discussed currently on Question Time on BBC1.

How is this featuring on a politically driven debate programme?!

This is beyond ridiculous now.

The argument is based on Sanchez earning £500k a week. Where’s this figure coming from?!

Pathetic. BBC need to sort themselves out. And to think I’m forced to pay a licence fee for this tosh.

It's nuts, isn't it? I'd swear this was the first time some of these people watched us play at Anfield.

BBC are the most agenda driven, biased news organization in the country. They spin things the way they want.

And funnily enough, often lose.

They were the kiss of death supporting the Remain party in the EU referendum.

Pep wanted him because he had qualities that the other players at Barca didn't´t have at the moment. He said that at a press conference. Sanchez was very anxious when he arrived to Catalunya and get injured a few times because he forced himself too much and that annoyed Pep in that match were he got angry and insulted him. It was a moment because most of the time they were fine. Alexis also declared that he learned to play football again at Barca, he had another alias, he was known as "new dog" because he always chased the ball, one of his former coaches (Borghi) just told the story. Alexis learned to be more tactic and get better at every club because he is very competitive.

In Barcelona he was restrained because everything is about Messi and Alexis wanted that leadership and that was one of the reasons why he went to Arsenal. Alexis shines with freedom but he is suited for every style, because he played most of them successfully with different coaches (very important ones). The quote is about people trying to deceive themselves when they didn't get what they want.

"I lost a fantastic player, Mr Wenger lost a fantastic player. I got a fantastic player, Mr Wenger got a fantastic player, so it was a great deal for everybody," Mourinho said in his pre-match press conference.

Confirmed - Jose is a WUM.
