Lions: they don't wait until the end of their contracts like humans. :(

All the best, Zlatan. Thanks for the memories. He provided a season with leadership when we were crying out for one. Kept himself in peak physical condition and was a role model on and off the pitch.

Like others have said, the biggest disappointment is him not joining us sooner and wasting all those seasons at PSG.

I wish him well for the future.

If he hadn’t got injured I don’t think we would have seen an improvement in lukaku throughout the season as he would have been in and out of the team. We’ve been lucky that lukaku hasn’t got injured this season.

Very annoying he won't win the title with United. One of my favourite ever players and he showed what he can do in the PL when everyone thought he was finished. His personality, character and winning mentality is what we've missed since the likes of Rio, Vidic and Evra all left. If he'd joined us 5 years earlier no doubt we would've won the league by now.

Was great last season amazing amount of goals for a guy his age. Should have left it at that though after his injury or went straight to the MLS.

Good luck to him. It was a pleasure to see him play.

First sign of wages being freed up in anticipation of the summer transfer window?

I'm sure one last crack at the CL was the plan and when that went it made no sense to keep him on.

He was a leader last season and brought character. Love him. Hope he has a good career out there. Legend.

We got him a few years too late, but glad we got him for a bit. I feel certain he had at least another year of top quality in him if not for such a nasty injury. He was solid right up to that point. Real shame.

It's the right call, I think. Pretty glad we got to see him in a United shirt.

Yes, we bought him too late/he moved too late and to top it off that injury fecked him up. At least he had a good season here and proved that he still was class at 35 in the mighty PL.

A legend of the game on and off the pitch.

Bit stupid of Mourinho to re-sign him after that injury though.

I wasn't best pleased, to be honest, but I suppose that's loyalty! Zlatan would go through a brick wall for Mourinho.

Harsh. He done his very best for us in his short time he was here, will be remembered fondly by most.
Not relevant at all to the point I'm trying to make. Evra will be remembered fondly by most too, doesn't mean I want him playing professionally for United again.

Amidst squeaky bums.

Inconspicuous timing of this appearing on the YouTube channel!

EDIT: I was beaten to it, apologies. Zlatan also looks quite sick in this video...

He came to the club too late, 4-5 younger, he would have been incredible :( He really wasted a big part of his career at PSG when you think about it.

Hard to believe that him and Larsson were the same age at their respective stints at United. Larsson seemed ancient in comparison. 28 goals by a 35 year old in in his first season in a top country is no mean feat.

They just posted a video of all his goals last season on Facebook too.

Announcement imminent I guess.

Living in Stockholm a good part of my life, followed him since he came through the ranks at Malmo. He was a cocky bastard even then, and the "more established" older players had a problem with him. He's never changed since those early days. Zlatan never gets in line for anyone. When you take Zlatan on board you get the whole package. He was enormous in Italy which is where he played his best football. I'm in debt to the guy for being in the stands and witnessing one of the most spectacular goals ever against England. Did well for us last season but shouldn't have come back imo.

I'm sad by Zlatan leaving. He is and will always be one of the most liked footballers in the world. He has won everywhere he's been and has always shown how well he can play in any conditions. His overhead kick for Sweden will forever be in our minds as one of the best goals. The man scored 28 goals for United in his first season for us at the age of 35, for anybody else that's ridiculous but not Ibracadabra. If what we hear is true, i hope he plays until 40 and have a jolly time in America. Thanks for all your contribution to United, it's been such a pleasure!

I think it was the 'good riddance' bit that made you sound harsh.

Awful news if true. One of the players who could provide both goals and clever passes, not to mention the guy's a world class legend.

He connected with Pogba better than anyone else. Class albeit it was a short. I remember a lot of people blaming him for us being slow and ponderous. But in fact, we are just slow and ponderous with or without him and he actually managed to show a lot more class in our game from time to time. At the age, I wouldn’t have expected anything more.

I hope it's not true. He's a character very much worth having around the dressing room.

If he wants to play though he's very much earned that rite.

On a more personal level, I managed to get United to win the League and CL in 2018-19 with him in FM17, before he retired that summer after having won everything in England and Europe over the past three years. He was great for 16-17, still reliable for 17-18, but aged startlingly in 18-19 much like in real life this season.

(Maybe that's why I'm more patient with Mourinho. It took me three years on the game despite us both winning silverware in our first two seasons!)

I'll miss Zlatan. Shame he is not going to get a chance to sign off properly at Old Trafford.
That's how I'll choose to remember him as well. The guy who did well in your computer game.

Not a surprise really.

Good luck to him in his upcoming move. Was really happy to see him with our shirt even if it was for a short time. A true legend of football and a great character. His 2 goals in EFL cup final will cement him in our history as any other player shared in any trophy we won.

Proved that the EPL isn't as tough as we all like to pretend. Shame he got injured.
