How can a team with Matic, Pogba, Lukaku and Sanchez be playing so poorly?

City full value for their lead, and unlucky not to score more.

0 shots on goal, forget on target. Embarrassing.

They are a class apart, and that is without Aguero, Jesus, KdB and Walker.

Absolute shambles, we've done nothing so far. The defending was pathetic, it's time for Smalling to go, can't even get in the England team! As for Pogba, what does he actually do?! Nothing but a glorified YouTube footballer, I'm starting to see why SAF wasn't bothered about keeping him.

Humiliating, spineless, weak, lethargic, apathetic training exercise. A discredit to the club in all honesty. At least get hammered with some semblance of pretending to care about the fans that came to sit among their biggest rivals to get humiliated. Not a single player on the pitch gave a half worthy of the club.
    This.

players to get rid of ASAP, replace them with mannequins and you'd end up getting better results:
Valencia, Young, Smalling, Jones, Mata, Herrera, Shaw, Fellaini

No more sentimentality, no more "ohh but hes good at this" excuses, these players arent good enough to be 1st team players at Man Utd. Compare them to City, Madrid, Munichs squad and you'll see why

Another goal from a set piece. jesus christ. Match completely changes because of that goal. Criminal that they score from set piece given how taller and stronger we are man for man. I can guarantee Mourinho has told Smalling to closely watch Komapany at set pieces and he messes up again. We were containing them up until that goal. It is exactly like when Liverpool scored against City midweek.

Look at Liverpool bro. Look at the output the manager gets from his average players. Mourinho needs to feck off big time.
I wonder how he'll throw the players under the bus
Agreed. We could pick a world 11 of players, and would still play the same way. Its all he knows.

I am trying to remember the last time I saw a worse performance than we had in the last 25 minutes of this half. I can't even remember anything as bad as this under Moyes. Unless we improve dramatically in the second half, that's it for me - I absolutely want Mourinho gone. Second place or not - i said before the Swansea-game I want to see something to make me believe we are going in the right direction, and we are served this crap ?

    45 minutes left Mourinho...improve...a lot!

I'm taking a nap. Wake me up when our players can string 3 passes together without losing the ball or smashin it to City's defenders.

    Haha.

It's a good thing I went into this not really caring. I didn't realize that the Man United players would do the same.

Joke's on me though. They get paid a lot at the end of the day.

I wouldn't be saying that if I think we will wake up in near future. Getting tired of getting thumped by City for years now.

He will too, it'll be everybodys fault but his.His style of football is truly being left behind.

This match highlights Mourinho’s decline - think back to Anfield 2014 when Chelsea basically denied Liverpool the league. Today, and to use JM’s words from that day, United are the clowns.
And man for man, I'd say this United side is better than that Chelsea team. Obviously City are better than Liverpool too, but the performance has been shocking from all 11 players. No excuses. They don't seem to care about the impending humiliation of City winning it infront of us.

Smalling, Valencia and Young all should be squad players at best next season.

 All I can do is laugh, this is so horrendous. We're lucky it's only 2-0.

We are the fresher team and not even playing against their best players.

This Loss will be hard to stomach.

For what this game is; an away fixture, to deny our rivals the PL title today, 2-0 down at half time, and playing the way we are (shite) this would have to be one of our greatest PL second half comebacks in our history.
For that reason, I do not see us scathing any more than a single goal in this game.

    Sad, Just sad.

Right? It's shocking to see so much said about the players when these exact players have been seen performing way better in inferior teams. It's not like we didn't have enough transfer seasons as well. Why did we buy Sanchez for example? Especially when we have 2 perfectly good players in that position. It's far past the time for a center figure to take the responsibility. We've been performing poorly, bought expensive, dropped from the CL, and our football is uglier that a Pug's face.

Who is actually gonna torture themselves and endure the second half and subsequent title celebration? Media blackout for me.

We're just lulling them into a false sense of security, second half will be when we show what we're really about so no worries.

    or not...

I can't wait for us to have a defence that is composed on the ball, that is the main issue I feel.

Its not a B team. Its full of internationals. It just goes to show how strong their squad is.
Exactly. And i hope people can realize that we should not sell any player - like Martial - but in fact we need to keep what we have and bring much more.

Klopp and pool beat trash this team
Yet we can’t even have a single shot on target
They're a better team than us though. Not better individual players, but definitely a better team with a clear philosophy. Probably going to take 2nd from us as well.

Disastrous half of football. In attack, midfield and defense, even De Gea made a massive mistake before the 2-0. Some people will claim that you parked the bus, but it is not true. You didn´t play with a low block, tried to win the ball high up the pitch and even managed to do so a few times. Just the offensive transition was absolutely horrendous, which resulted in City recycling the ball very easily. So they were always in control and outplayed you on their way to the box. Maybe it would have been better to play like at Anfield where you just stayed deep with 7-8 players and tried to close the spaces completely.

Are we pretending Eric Bailly isn’t every bit as bad?
At least he tries to pass the ball instead of hoofing it. These 3 I mentioned seems like they see the ball for the first time in their lives. Waste of space.

I blame the players, but the manager has to take a big bulk of the criticism. I don't get him or what we're doing as a team. It's just joyless ugly tumescent shite.

City are using delph and Danilo as fullbacks. Come off it. Pep is just a God compared to Mourinho, and Mourinho doesnt know how to stop him. Simple as.
They don't play as full-backs, they play as auxiliary midfielders and if we got at them, like they're getting at us, we'd see that they're shit at defending. Problem is we can't hold the ball past the half way line because everyone's bottling it.

Pep is no god at all. No one was saying this last season, or last match when he got schooled off Liverpool. It's this daft notion that makes teams turn up a roll over like we are today. Stop it.

Different matches, different days, that is football.

Funny how we beat Klopp a couple of weeks ago
Not saying Klopp is hot shit either but it's concerning that Mourinho keeps being schooled by Pep when other managers with lesser sqauds are able to beat them.

We were playing well up until two feck ups. We weren't sitting back and tried to play through the middle.
That was Jose approach, now its gone to shit thanks to our defence.
This tells us more about the players than Jose imo. Its a carbon copy of Spurs away.
Jose wanting 4 more defenders (according to Castle) should make sense now
Playing well?! At no point did we even look like we might threaten City, which is the root of our problems. Like I’ve already stated, it makes no difference where we start pressing them as long as we have no idea what to do once we gain possession. That’s the root of all our problems.

They are sprinting all over the place and we're are playing at walking pace. Too slow and weak.
