Can't understand Jose putting Damian in the line up. He's in bad shape and can't be motivated knowing he'll be gone in the summer. Pointless selection imo. Is this the same guy who was turning out for Italy not too long ago??

Solid half. Unspectacular as you'd expect given it's Mourinho in charge, at the end of the day, so we're lacking a bit when it comes to creativity. But good control on the game, solid enough at the back bar a few runs down Darmian's side (surprise surprise), and we're getting in dangerous positions but really lacking enough movement in the box, runners from deep to give that other option, and we aren't even looking to cross is because it's only ever just Rashford in the box.

Lingard's been meh, got an assist but generally wasteful. Pogba pretty good, Fellaini not done much but a few tackles. Herrera easily the MotM, been class. Rashford and Martial when they get the ball have done well, but again could do a bit more in terms of movement and probably you would want both to get right in the box more often.

Just commit more people in the box and take more risks and we'll have more creativity. If the ball is out on the left with Martial, we need Lingard supporting Rashford in the box, then one of Fellaini or Pogba (or both even) breaking into the box to give crossing options. There's no reason for everyone to sit outside the box while Martial is running down the wing. Give options and we'll have more chances.

He's only ever hoofed it when he's won it back himself. When we are actually in possession he's used it as good as anyone.
He’s used it the best from the bunch, but it’s not saying much with some of the passing on display by Lingard and Martial. I mentioned the hoofing since I expect better from him, he is one of our smarter players, I want him to try and keep the ball and distribute it calmer.

The beauty of being a manager like Jose.

Martial plays well - He listened to me and has improved
Martial plays bad - See, I told you he wasn't good enough.
Who the feck is crediting Jose with Martial's performances. It's the complete opposite, with many saying that Jose is hindering him.

Martial was not bad, but not great too. Some dangerous moment in dribbling accompanied by some sloppy passing. Need to rise his performance more second half but I'm not that angry of him so far.

bit more passion that sunday but still some of the passing has been awful, how many times has martial given the ball away? no idea why people are having a go at darmian; we look so much better with proper fullbacks. most of all, however, is that herrera should either play where he is tonight or not at all. he's been terrific, albeit against not a great side, but they are better than wba. this deeper position is right for him. pogba: better than sunday but is it too much to aks that a supposedly world-class player completely dominates an "also-ran" team? which he is not doing

Our attacking players are looking sharp tonight, but my god,our centre backs simply cannot pass a ball!!!Smalling and Jones can't pass to save their lives...It messes up our rhythm completely....

Unfortunately it's the second option . Martial need a strong 2nd half to have any chance of being involved on Saturday

Don't see the point of Fellaini in this game.

    Pretty meh game so far.
Mourinho needs a massive player in there since he's playing a normal sized striker and not a giant. Who is he going to hoof to if we start being put under pressure?

Not a bad half, Herrera fantastic. Martial and Rashford have done okay but need to do more if they want to start on the weekend.
Both centre backs have been good.
Darmian and fat man Shaw poor.

Perhaps, Valencia just needs rest to be able to put in at least acceptable performance this weekend. He has been bad still his potent is still better than his back up.

He's not in that bracket, not until he finds consistency and improves his application. But even players who are world class don't always dominate games, even against worse opposition.

Except for Darmian I'm not too bothered about criticising the players. What's the point? The attackers are constantly changed around; no chemistry is being developed; and we are not well coached. No wonder everyone looks like they're doing their own thing as we don't have a system that I can see.All falls on the manager for me.

Just hoping we get a win here and have a decent end to the season.

Herrera has to start against Tottenham. He's been building good form despite being used as a squad player. Says a lot about a lot of the other players on the pitch that are lacking in quality or effort.

Definitely. We need a 3 men midfield to compete against Spurs and we'll need Herrera to do the dirty work.

Nope, brief instances of flashiness no longer works for me. They have both done feck all other than a fancy dribble or run.

Herrera and Smalling alone have done something of worth. Might give a pass to Lingard for that assist.

My friends I'm not able to see the game. How are we playing?
Not too bad. Herrera’s been great, Pogba as well, keeping it simple and shown some nice passes.
Martial and Rashford are lively up front, and although it doesn’t seem so in here, I think Shaw is having a good game as well.

Herrera and Pogba very good so far. If Martial used the ball better on few occasions we would be out of range already.

Thought the movement for our goal was very good. Why can't we do that all the time?

Herrera is outperforming Pogba. His passing and keeping the ball is so much better.

His awareness of other players and tracking their runs is fantastic.

One of the rare players other than Sanchez and mata in the United side to keeping trying through balls.

Easily motm if he keeps it the same in the second half.

Probably could have used Blind to compliment one or the other in Smalling or Jones.

Only times we commit enough players in and around the opposition box is after a corner when everyone is left over there. Usually we only have 1 or 2 players max in the box. Needs a moment of brilliance to pick someone out rather then having options to pick from and make that movement "easy"

Just took a look at PL table. We are defensive, park the bus ManUtd, while scoring 64 goals so far, and with 45 mins to go, and wonderful, amazing, attacking Tottenham scored 66 ! Charming.

he's barely done it at all. 12mins vs City isn't quite enough for me and he was described as world class when we bought him

Smalling scores and many might overlook his defensive issues. Needs to be sorted in the summer where Smalling is not the first choice.
