Obviously how you rate a player is highly subjective and there is no right or wrong answer. However I’ll stick my neck out and list my evaluation as follows:

Arsenal: Özil

Chelsea: Courtois, Hazard, Willian

Liverpool: van Dijk, Salah

Man City: Walker, De Bruyne, Sane, Aguero

Man Utd: De Gea, Pogba

Spurs: Vertonghen, Eriksen, Kane

Let’s go!

Defensively I think is where the league is lacking as far as world class players go.

World Class is the most arbitrary term in football, so what's the point?

Is it the starting XI vs. Mars FC?
Is it the squad of 23?
the best 3 or 5 players in each position?
the best 30, 50, 100 players?
everyone who's just very, very good at football?

Oh and I’m not having Özil. He’s not performed at that level for a while.

A lot of these players being mentioned aren't world class. I'm sorry but Hazard and Azpilicueta are not world class. Very good players but not world class IMO.

United: DDG, Pogba , Sanchez
Chelsea : Kante
Spurs: Vertonghen, Eriksen, Kane
City: Walker, Kompany, Silva, KDB, Aguero
Arsenal : Ozil, Aubameyang
Liverpool : Salah

Is as far as I'm going to go. There are others who have world class potential but these are the players who I believe can play for any team in the world.

I think Sanchez is world class, just because he hasn't adapted to us yet after moving mid-season to a team with a completely different style of play doesn't mean he isn't. I don't quite know why a few people are leaving him out.

You can't exclude Hazard and include Özil. In fact, Özil is only there based on reputation and hasn't performed at a world class level in years.

This term "World class" is something people only seem to have started talking about in the past few years, and nobody seems to know what it actually means or how to quantify it! That being the case, while it might be completely arbitrary, you can't say Jan Vertonghen and Kyle Walker are world class but Eden Hazard isn't.

Not sure how Hazard doesn't qualify as world class but players like Kante, Walker or Özil do. Opinions, I guess :)

My list would be DDG, Pogba, Sanchez (not at United so far), Hazard, Courtois, Silva, KDB, Aguero, Aubameyang (not seen that in a while), Özil, Salah, Kane. Son of Erik as well, possibly, dunno.

Ozil is there is because he's proved himself at International Level. The lack of success at Arsenal has clouded a lot of people's judgement but he is still world class. Even now he's one of the first names on the teamsheet for Germany. A very star studded Germany as well. He has shown his ability for the last 8 years. Hazard I think has flattered to deceive and although he's shown glimpses of World Class quality he isn't consistent enough and doesn't seem to be taking that final step. Salah in one season has scored more than Hazard for the last 3/4 years. He doesn't impact enough games to be world class IMO. A few fancy dribbles don't make him World Class. One of the most overrated players in the PL.

I think everyone would have said Sanchez was world class this time last year/before we signed him.

The bolded are not world class in my opinion.

Courtois and Hazard are over rated and Hazard showing up for a season then being inconsistent for the next does not warrant world class status. Willian is great but a level below world class.

Van Dijk world class is laughable. Makes a mistake every other game and is not very good at actually defending.

Walker is not world class as of yet, and Sane is a great talent but far from world class.

I might be a little early on Ederson. But every time I’ve seen him, I’ve been really impressed. Don’t think there are better keepers out there except for Neuer, ter Stegen and DDG.

There are quite a few players in the league who are quite close but not there yet. Think the league will be really good in a few years.

This season/currently:
De Bruyne
DDG
Silva
Aguero
Salah
Kane

Been there before:
Ozil (IMO, not been WC for a while now)
Pogba (if you believe UEFA team of the year rankings with Juve)
Sanchez (struggled this season)
Yaya Toure (past it)

Debatable:
Eriksen
Kante

Van Dijk is not world-class. Liverpool are suddenly heralded for being defensively patched up - when they’ve just let in six goals over two games against an average and ageing Roma. VvD makes a cock-up every other game on average, he is not even close.

Ozil? I cannot fathom how he can be considered WC, he's the definition of a luxury player - looks good with great players around him, I've barely noticed him this season.

Did you forget Kante? He's arguably the world's best in his role.

Genuinely world class?

City: De Bruyne, Aguero, Silva
United: Dave
Liverpool: Salah (assuming he's not a one-season wonder)
Spurs: Kane
Chelsea: (Maybe) Hazard

That's it for me. Think people grossly overrate some of the players in the PL. I'd certainly put Matic as world class as a midfielder before Pogba right now.

On the specific topic of Ederson - he’s actually got a couple errors in him, especially when he’s constantly under pressure. He’s just been immensely protected by Pep’s system imo.

Very talented though, and fairly young still as well. Good distribution too. Does the sweeper keeper role well, too.

But that’s for another thread.

Haven’t seen much from Kante that impressed me. But I don’t watch or care for Chelsea much, so I don’t know that much about him.

I think Özil is the best passer there is in the final third. Nobody is close to him. For that alone he deserves a mention. But I get the sentiment.

Arsenal - none

Chelsea - Hazard, Kante

Liverpool - Salah

Man City - De Bruyne, David Silva, Aguero

Man Utd - De Gea, Pogba, Sanchez

Tottenham - Kane

Sounds about right. 10 world class players. I think Eriksen, Alderweireld, Azpilicueta, Ozil, Aubemeyang are right on the cusp too and could be argued as world class.

Ozil is definitely world class. More assists than anyone since his arrival in England. Playing in a shite Arsenal team doesn't drag him down to that level. Look at his performances for Germany and then you'll see why he's WC.

There are quite a few top class players in the league, but what separates them from the actual world class players is consistency. That's why there's no Arsenal player in that category for me.

Özil's playstyle makes him very dependent on his team mates. He cannot play passes if they don't make the runs and he has zero influence if they convert the chances he creates. In terms of key passes per game, he is still at the highest possible level despite Arsenal being sub-average at best. That's the difference to a dribbler like Sanchez who gets the ball and starts the action himself without need of team mates' movements. But Ozil's technical ability and his decision making is absolutely world class. It jsut tends to not get the attention it deserves since Arsenal is garbage. Would still say he's the best passer in the final third alongside Messi. Would set the world on fire in a Guardiola team I think.

If we're talking about players who walk into a starting XI of any club - not too much. I'd say DDG, De Bruyne, Salah (as of now), Kante and maybe Kane, if he mans up a bit.

If we get it a bit broader and take players of just great ability and effectiveness, who were/may become world class with the right setup/manager, then I'd go with this:
Arsenal - Auba, Ozil (both are declining)
Chelsea - Hazard, Kante, Courtois
Liverpool - Salah, Firmino, VVD (doubtful, early to judge)
Man City - De Bruyne, David Silva, Aguero
Man Utd - De Gea, Pogba (needs another team/manager)
Tottenham - Kane, Eriksen, Alderweireld

Sanchez burnt out, even Martial has more to it than him atm, os he's not in the list.
