Rashford is best at LF and he is not ready to be the number 9. I said that all season. What do you think about Rashford out wide? or even as CF?

Oh, you mean the most successful active manager in Europe? Won two trophies last year? Best league season in the last five years? Jose has more than earned a shit ton of slack, Martial hasn't.People would say the same about the mourinho apologists mate...
Doesn't Rashford lack even more at that position?Rashford is best at LF and he is not ready to be the number 9. I said that all season.
Read the wrong numbers on Wikipedia.13 in 55 (36 starts) according to transfermarkt
Edit: You're on about Rashford, right? This is the Martial thread. Your stats are right for Rashford - though now it is 65 games with 11 goals.
No. Both Martial and Rashford are inconsistent but Rashford is just more direct with his game. Martial would suit playing off someone (like Lukaku).Doesn't Rashford lack even more at that position?
He was scoring goals when the whole team was playing well. That is different to being good enough and scoring when the team is struggling. So was Martial not good enough to be starting when he scored those goals in January?
Btw nowhere is one word. As is brainless.
So had van Gaal mate.Oh, you mean the most successful active manager in Europe? Won two trophies last year? Best league season in the last five years? Jose has more than earned a shit ton of slack, Martial hasn't.
Don’t think so pal, smell the coffee and stop making excuses for the lad. He’s not united quality and never will be..stop deluding yourself..Go home mate, you're drunk. Messi would've looked like Jordi Cruyff in that team tonight.
Ok....He was scoring goals when the whole team was playing well. That is different to being good enough and scoring when the team is struggling.
And great to see you being pedantic for no reason what so ever. I have a degree by the way, do you?
Is that why Rashford lost his place to Martial? That debate was settled. Have you forgotten already? No. Both Martial and Rashford are inconsistent but Rashford is just more direct with his game. Martial would suit playing off someone (like Lukaku).
Dont want to turn this into Martial vs Rashford.
Not quite the same level of protection Rooney was granted. He had half the football pundits (those of the English variety anyway) fighting his corner. I get the jist of your post though and I do agree. This is a thread about Martial, go to Pogba's performance thread and he is getting slated as well.
This is Rooney all over again, has a cult following that tries to make him untouchable. The exact same thing happened when he was shite in a game.
'Not the right tactical setup'
'other players were worse'
The sad thing is that Rooney is our record goalscorer and earned that cult following. Martial is a nobody and has the same level of protection.
So you want to turn this into Rashford vs Martial? They are young and inconsistent but their core qualities are different. You asked me for my opinion just so you could be weird and try to attack it.Is that why Rashford lost his place to Martial? That debate was settled. Have you forgotten already?
Rashford lost his place and could not fight back. Mourinho kept on bringing him as a sub but he was dogshit every time so Martial simply retained the place he won. You even admitted back then.
Can you remember now?
Yes you are right, Rooney had the English and former team mate factors going for him. He was supposed to be England's captain, and his friends on Sky and BT were protecting him as well. Not quite the same level of protection Rooney was granted. He had half the football pundits (those of the English variety anyway) fighting his corner. I get the jist of your post though and I do agree.
He was offered a chance tonight, in his favoured position no less, and he blew it. It's a recurring theme with him, he picks up the ball and makes a direct beeline for goal, without taking in to consideration the sheer amount of defenders standing in his path (or where his team mates are for that matter) and precedes to charge smack back to those defenders. He does this at least 5 times a game. Where is the thought process. I don't get it, I really don't. What are the coaches teaching him?
There is no Rashford vs Martial debate. There was a thread for that but it got closed once Martial came out on top. I asked you because I cannot understand how you still think Rashford is better than Martial as LF when we all saw who won the competition between them. I can dig up posts if you continue to deny the truth. So you want to turn this into Rashford vs Martial? They are young and inconsistent but their core qualities are different. You asked me for my opinion just so you could be weird and try to attack it.
Simeone and Martial is not exactly a great match. Can't see why Atletico would invest that much in him.Straight swap for Griezmann (or Griezmman plus throw a bit of cash their way)
Neither are good enough to be regular starters for a team aspiring to be top 5 in the world.Looks like he's given up. Still shows outstanding talent, 50x the player Rashford is.
Absolutely spot on, not sure why people are so rose-tinted about this fact.Let’s be honest. The talent is there and his ability with the ball is top notch but he lacks football intelligence his mentality is questionable. That’s the brutal truth. Unfortunately.
I’m not sure United and the PL is the right place for a player like him. I think Serie A suits him better. Maybe it’s better for all involved that he moves on. Real sad to say this. I had high hopes when I first saw him playing for us.
I keep seeing this repeated. I've never seen United fans mock a team for celebrating winning trophies. They were mocked for making out winning those two and the FA cup was on par with our treble. Amazing how United fans keep getting it wrong and using it to mock our own supporters. Also let's not pretend league cup and Europa League are a massive achievement. We used to mock Liverpool fans for celebrating those.
Not yet, but Martial's close control, speed, incisiveness and eye for goal will take him there eventually.Neither are good enough to be regular starters for a team aspiring to be top 5 in the world.
Would you mind PMing me next week's lottery numbers as well please? Not yet, but Martial's close control, speed, incisiveness and eye for goal will take him there eventually.
Probably not for us.
Think Jose agreesSell the lazy bollox .
"For 10 months I get asked 'why always Lukaku? Why always Lukaku, why always Lukaku? Why always this player? That guy doesn't have a chance to start, the other one is on the bench.' You know why now."
Weird to point this at Martial. It's more about CF role, Rashford against a compact organized defense who exhaust the space he can exploit, and he he no answer in this type of situationThink Jose agrees
yes, i think it was a dig at Rashford. Jose was fuming when he didn't make that pass to Martial and rightfully so.Weird to point this at Martial. It's more about CF role, Rashford against a compact organized defense who exhaust the space he can exploit, and he he no answer in this type of situation
I wouldn't say just about one chance but overall performance failing to impose a presence on the pitch.yes, i think it was a dig at Rashford. Jose was fuming when he didn't make that pass to Martial and rightfully so.
Problem with Tony is in his head... like zaha was at United. Always comes short for the pass them lays it off to other players. Our slow build up and his aversion to taking on his man means it’s lather... rinse repeatHe was completely ineffective, though. Yes he worked hard and he showed for the ball as much as possible, but his end product was non-existent.
Well except that Nani did look like CR7 occasionally, plus poty for one year, and then was injured. Other than that, just like Martial.Very very inconsistent. He's the reincarnation of Nani in our team. One day looking like Cristiano Ronaldo followed by a 4/10 performance next week.
The whole team is incapable of stringing a few passes together and utilizing space. This becomes a coaching issue rather than a personnel one. People can keep going on and on about Mourinho's achievements, where is the actual team structure? If Pogba isn't playing well, the whole team plays terrible as he's the only one who has some sort of ability to structure a proper offense from the midfield with his short and long range passing. The issue is he's too inconsistent, and when he isn't on form the team looks completely devoid of ideas. Ultimately, that falls on Mourinho. Martial is an easy scapegoat for many, but the blame rests on the coach. To expect Martial to pull a miracle out of his arse to rescue a point for his team and to blame him for failing to do so with the starting opportunity he's gotten today is very short-sighted. They were all terrible, but at least Martial looked as if he was trying to make something happen. He does need to fight more when he loses the ball, that criticism is warranted, but he brought more than he took away as opposed to many of his teammates out there tonight.Martial is like sterling was at city before Guardiola. In a possession based system he’d be useful for penetration but the way we get him the ball when a double team is already set up sets him up to fail
