Just realised the transfer window opens today on my birthday, couldn't ask for anything more.

Where are these Jose quotes coming from? Is there an interview anyone can link to?

So it’s okay for Man City to have top players over the age of 28 but we should only make use of the likes of Rooney and Young. We should not be signing players like Sanchez and Matic. Got it.

If we had quality players like Aguero maybe we wouldn’t have to buy older players with guaranteed quality. People want us to chase this City team down but dismiss that it’s not a level playing field.
You're missing the point. There is no shortcut to team experience. Kompany, Silva and Aguero are that good for City because they've spent their prime there and know everything about the club and love the club. We had that with Rio, Carrick, Vidic, Giggs in the recent past. You can't buy that experience and passion for the club.

What do we have now? Young and Valencia? Not good enough. We need quality players NOW, so we have acquired Matic and Sanchez. Rio, Giggs and Carrick are gone. People need to accept that. Fergie’s last year was the end of that era and the two managers before Mourinho destroyed this squad. Now we are playing catch up.

Shockingly, 17 hours have been passed since transfer window open, yet I'm here waiting for first official transfer move.

We'll be playing catch up for a very long time if we spend our transfer money on old players with their best years behind them.

We already have Pogba, Herrera, Lukaku, DDG, Smalling all of who will be a year more experienced next season. Anyway, we can take this to another thread if we are still adamant in trying to win this internet argument. ;)

And there it is. The transfer season has officially begun.

The next markers:
1. Several city signings.
2. Castles reporting Jose is frustrated by lack of signings.
3. Smokescreens.
4. A couple of signings.
5. Finally a Bale saga to end it off.

Great news! I read some articles about him, he comes across like a humble guy with good personality and strong character. Im not sure how much of their good news can be atributed to adrenaline rush and the fact Pardiola left but Moor's team looked well drilled.

Also ends racism claims. If you're good enough then you will get hired.

He's really good IMO. I watch Atletico every week.

Can't see it happening though and especially at that fee.
I don't follow Atletico that much and remember him more of his time in Italy, I agree. He's very good and one hell of a crosser. Almost effortlessly consistently putting decent first time cross in the box. Tactical disciplined. Unlikely for it to happen though. It's not like Atletico has replacement for him

Anyone think Claude Makelele to come in as assistant to Jose. He had a spell as coach with Paul Clement at Swansea.

Hope we stay well clear, Dutch posters are not impressed by him and believes he would do a Depay.

Kluivert says Ajax tried to sell him to Spurs last summer with Sanchez without him knowing and that he isn't renewing.
If not us then it'll be Everton.

Just in case anyone was worried we hadn't had our yearly saga!

The only interesting thing will be in about 5-10 years when 4-4-2 interview him and ask "how close did you ever get to returning to Man Utd".

The only even slight chance would have been if Fergie hadn't left, but even then...

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that at the moment, Buffon’s intention is to continue playing.
Currently, the most attractive and stimulating offer for the 40-year-old is a two-year contract from French side Paris Saint-Germain.
While Di Marzio reports that other top European clubs are also interested, he did not confirm reports of Liverpool and Athletico Madrid’s interest in the Juventus legend.

True, I dont think he has it in him. But then again, young talents are really unpredictable so who knows how his career will go.
