It's modern football though. Roberto Carlos has three Champions Leagues, and Marcelo has also three. If the formula didn't work Zidane wouldn't insist on it.
I'm not necessarily suggesting that the formula doesn't work, i'm saying that perhaps he should be a little more prudent when it comes to tonights match. Salah can wreak havoc tonight if left slightly unchecked.

Real was lucky against Bayern when Marcelo wasn’t on his position a few times and if Ribery was a better player - playing with his head up and not down all the time, he could had a kill pass at least twice when a player was completely unmarked

Real Madrid is going win 3-0 or 3-1. It's going to a very one sided final. I feel as if they'll totally outclass Liverpool.

Game will be won in the Marcelo vs Salah battle. No doubt Marcelo won't be able to stop himself marauding the Pool penalty area and could really do damage up front, but that would also allow Salah a clear run.

If I wasn't so fecking nervous about this game, I'd admit its' an intriguing one. But hopefully the bald Messiah saves us all today. La 13 Decima or however you say it in Spanish.

Oh my bad mate!

I completely agree with you then. This entire season would almost be worth it if Liverpool lost to an offside goal in the 97th minute. Marginal utility and all.
Haha its all good. that would be a pretty sweet finale.

Yeah so mainly I was understanding my own hypocrisy with wanting better football. I guess it makes sense - we watch our team on a weekly basis for both results and entertainment. The former depends more on the results of rivals.

Anyway too much philosophizing. In conclusion feck Liverpool

Please god let it happen. Last minute heart-breaker from Madrid (I dont care who scores). Not bitter but that would be ace. Hahaha. I dont think I could stand them winning another one. We will never catch Madrid so thats fine.

Carragher's career has sunk to the levels of Norwegian TV. He's spending his day at work showering the microphone in his usual gobs of spit by speaking Scouse into it.

Can't see it being so one-sided myself. Liverpool have smashed pretty much everybody they've played in the CL this season (on aggregrate anyway). I think a lot of teams are underestimating them. Real Madrid better not tonight or they are in for a big shock.

Suffice to say if the scum do win, the rest of my year is ruined

The one where Liverpool were 3-0 down by half time? I remember it , yeah. Think that would have happened at Anfield? Not particularly relevant to today's game though. Madrid have been winning big games at every venue in Europe over the past few years. Nearly every big Liverpool result has been at Anfield. It's hardly a controversial statement.
Apologies for not being clear. I bolded the 'neutral venue' part. What I meant was that it is highly likely that Liverpool fans would make it seem like a home game, just like in 2005 CL final.

Ramos will commit GBH on Salah and get away with it because that's what happens when you play Madrid.

As a non-United fan, this is a tough one.

In principle, I don't like Liverpool. But Real Madrid are the Evil Empire, and must be stopped.

I think I'll just concentrate on mocking whoever loses.

I don’t think (or hope we won’t) get smashed, but they’re favourites for sure.

I wasn't a member then. But I was nervy as feck. I couldn't wait for the game to start. Cautiously optimistic too, because we were good then. Missed the 11 final because I was in hospital unfortunately.

If I was a pool fan I'd be just about vomitting right now.

Real Madrid will probably win, they usually do.

If you beat Real in a European final then you deserve all the accolades, and undoubtedly deserve the trophy. I would just view your team as a plucky underdog giving it their best shot. If you succeed then it will be a nice surprise.

We need a last minute towering header from Ramos. We need him to be a bastard today.

I hope Casemiro brought his invisibility cloak. Him on an early yellow won't be good.

42 pages on this thread when the game has yet to kick off. it goes to show how much we really hate Liverpool and they are and will always be our biggest rival. On paper, man for man, Real Madrid's starting 11 is superior to Liverpool and they really should beat Liverpool but football doesn't work like this. I know Real Madrid has beaten PSG, Juventus and Bayern Munich to get to the final and this is the hardest path to the final and if they win tonight, they would be deserving champion but I am rather concerned about their last two second leg games against Juve and Bayern where they have shown they are beatable. Liverpool path to the final is a sham. Besides City, no disrespect to Roma, they have not faced a top European team, not to mention the easiest group they can ever get. All the so-called top pundits and experts are also going for a Liverpool win and a quick look at the betting market shows that the majority is going for a Liverpool win tonight. Maybe its destined to be their year. I'm so fecking nervous now. :nervous:
