It can't be money again, can it? He must be worth over €100 million at this point with salary, image rights and endorsements.

He'd make us serious title contenders even without investing more creativity into the team.
I think you make numerous very valid points, but we just don't know how Ronaldo would perform in a team that doesn't dominate every game. Real Madrid are just much bigger and better than every team in La Liga other than Atletico and Barca. They have performed so poorly this season to finish third. At Real, he is guaranteed chances because they dominate possession and play in virtually every game. At United, there are numerous games where this wouldn't apply, and to fair they've hardly dominated any matches over the last six months.

And you saw last night what Ronaldo contributes without service; ie. nothing (not that this is unusual; most strikers are like this, particularly as they get older).

Ronaldo is much more likely to move to PSG where the conditions suit him; ie. it will be a massive move, he will be the focal point of the team at the expense of everyone else, PSG batter everyone in France, he is guaranteed to score goals. If he moves to United, there is no particular reason to believe that the team would get better in terms of creating chances and progressive attacking play. He is likely to convert more chances and score more goals than Lukaku, but as he scored 28 goals this season and was arguably United's second best player after de Gea, it's hard to believe that this is what the team really needs.

In terms of contributing outside the box, or playing as a winger, those days are finished for Ronaldo. And he's not a Messi with some fabulous skillset and technical ability; he basically scores close range efforts, scores headers, or does nothing.

I don't care what he does any more but i hope he doesn't plan on coming back here. We don't want an aging, declining primadonna.

Ronaldo and Bale to United then?! I'd actually be up for it for a few years.
Would help our attack that's for sure.

I really think he was trying to steal the spotlight yesterday and I find it small time.
Agree with this. He is a diva.

The obvious one is him going to PSG in a swap for Neymar or Mbappe.
Makes too much sense. Suspect if anything is going to happen it will be late in the window and after the world cup.

Ronaldo won his fifth CL trophy. Top scorer for six consecutive season in this tournament. Probably the best goal scorer ever. Talent, determination and hard work. A perfect role model for younger talents how to maximize your potential.

I still remember when we bought him from Sporting. Instantly a love affair. Since then my connection to him has been strong and loyal. Like everybody else he’s a human with flaws and rough edges but all in all I think he handled himself good. He’s a global superstar and with that comes 24/7 media coverage. I prefer to focus at the good things he do, other prefers to hate. Different perspective I guess.

It was a loan for the first year so PSG wouldn't have to put it on this years accounts for FFP. He will become a PSG player as soon as the window opens I think.
Unless I'm wrong, I think it was a "loan" because of FFP but he'll be a PSG player soon enough.
Is the permanent transfer something that's already solidified though? Or do all parties have to agree to it this summer?

edit: and isn't the window already open?

Trouble with wherever he moves is that it will probably involve a noticeable degradation in his performances. If PSG, United or whoever wants to buy him think he is going to replicate his Madrid form then they are severely mistaken.

Some details here but they are not 100% clear except that it is a one year loan initially. The window opens on June 1st for Europe I think. Ours is opening earlier because it is closing earlier, it has to be open for three months under FIFA rules.

Not writing him off - just not expecting the sort of peak Ronaldo experiences we've seen from 2013-16 . He would still knock in 30 in all comps wherever he goes, which is better than most.

I think he got asked a question and simply answered honestly, he shoudn't have said it but I'm also sure he didn't do it because he needed attention or because of his ego. He can literally say anything and get attention for it.
Cristiano is not a fool.He knows that every sentence will be analyzed. If he uses a sentence in past he is perfecty aware of it.
The celebration was also weird, alone, while the team was signing the song of chiringuito "dónde esta CR7..."
although it is also true that he should have received more love from the board. Yesterday the president answered "Cristiano has 5 Champions, like me", instead of softening things. Maybe it was his little revenge for what Florentino said the day of the ballon d'or gala

He loves the sun and has 4 kids - no matter what i can't see him causing upheveal in his family when they are settled
in Madrid - think this is a plea for more cash as he has a big tax bill to pay soon by the looks of it

Likely Upgrade on Lukaku and Sanchez. Definitely an upgrade on Martial, Lingard and Rashford. Ibrahimovic came here at 35 and gave us one good season. I know Ronaldo won't return, but he has the legs to play two more good seasons (on goal number return) whatever place he wants.

They're not exactly settled in Madrid when three of his kids are below the age of 1. It wouldn't therefore be much of a big deal to move to another nearby city. Its not like he would be moving to Uzbekistan or the Phillipines.

He has 44 goals in 44 games (26 goals in 27 league appearances) this season. If he joins United and gives us 30 goals a season in the next 2-3 years, that would be great.

We need players who can put the ball in the back of the net, and Cristiano is still more than capable of doing that.

Not that we'll ever know, but i'd put money that he wouldn't be brilliant for us at his age. He has all but stopped running unless he thinks he can get a goal and he really isnt the player he was a season or two ago. Against a Liverpool side known for leaking goals, and at their hapless best, he didn't get anywhere near scoring.

“Irreversible decision” last year, “something is going to happen” this year, still at Real Madrid next year.

Do it. I will take you to a tour around the country (Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and eastern Tyan Shan mounts are awesome). On a serious note, of course he wont come here. Ask Rivaldo and Scolari. They must have enjoyed it:nervous:

Fair points. I don't see too much difference in pace of the game between premier league and la liga though. Would he really get ''found out'' in a PL return ?

He had just finished giving an interview. People will analize every move he makes but sometimes it's too much, I have no doubt that there are things bothering him and I agree that he shouldn't have been as direct as he was but all the drama is unnecessary.

I watched the interviews and the media is making a storm in a cup of water. Wether the problems are due to his contract or due to the tax thing it was obvious there were problems since last year and it's in both Perez and Cristiano's interests to reach an agreement so I think it will happen.
