I've wanted Griezmann for that RW for a while now. Will operate as an inside forward and a fantastic foil for Lukaku. Knows the system due to playing for Simeone and a gifted player with fantastic work rate.
That reddit thread is fun. Brings back lots of memories though, about the Griezmann saga.
6/10 and what not.

Also a few takeaways.
If we are actually having Kohler as our sleeve sponsor, how do people feel about the logo?
It looks OK to me.

Also something has happened to the Griezmann Barca deal. The deal seems to have fallen through.
From reports on it everyday to silence for about a week now.
Not suggesting that guy is right, but something is going on with Barca Griezmann.

And finally if it's Griezmann for 89 mill vs Bale for 100 million plus,I would prefer Griezmann.
Younger, cheaper, not injury prone, knows the system, great work rate and looks like he wants/wanted to come here as he loves Becks.

Odds for Griezman halved. Still 6/1. Not convinced it will happen. Probably just a tactic to get Barca to take their finger out.

Griezmann for £89m is ridiculously good value. He has been carrying Atletico's attack for multiple years. 42 goals and assists for a team like Atletico is astonishing. He's contributed to 50% of Atletico's goals.

Simeone plays almost the same system as Jose, defense oriented counter attacking system where he expects everyone to put in a shift and track back.
Griezmann won't find it difficult to adapt to Mourinho's tactics as he plays in a very similar system/tactical setup

Sure, they're both counter-attacking setups, but the formation and how the team goes about it is very different, I'd say. He'd also have to adjust to playing as a RW rather than as a second striker. Can't remember the last time I saw him play well on the right wing either (his dribbling is pretty average). Not convinced that just giving him 'freedom to roam like Mata' will be the perfect solution some think it will be.

Do you think it's Barca who are holding up the move?
Barca players and management have been tapping him up for about a year now, with their French players like Umtiti even confessing the same in an interview.
They kept their #7 shirt for him.
If the move has collapsed, it's certainly not because of Barca

I can't see Griezmann coming here unless we agree to subsidise Sanchez wages as he goes elsewhere
thus freeing up the No7 shirt that Griezmann would want

Why on earth would we sell Sanchez? To free up the #7 shirt?
That's a ridiculous reason to sell a star player.
If Griezzman comes, Sanchez will be moved to #10 or Griezmann will take the #10

Probably because he posted some silly videos of him and Pogba hanging out.

I'd be gutted if he went to Barca. Gutted because Atletico is my Spanish team and they have a great shot at silverware with him and it would be shit going to the champions and because if he's going anywhere I want him at United.

I have no idea what any of this means.
It means players are fickle and a shirt number means a lot to them

Griezmann hero was David Beckham and he would want the No7 shirt if he signed for Man Utd

No7 shirt at Man Utd holds a lot of prestige and i can't see Sanchez giving that shirt number up to any player

We pay sanchez a fortune and no club could afford his wages

So how do we sign Griezmann if we can't give him the shirt number he wants ?

Is there some serious link with Griezmann or is all this because some random guy posted something on reddit

Look up Sanchez' past. All he wants is to play every game, he'll wear the 99 number if it means he gets to run on that pitch. He had a tough upbringing and is a very humble and quiet person.

If you honestly think a shirt number can make or break a transfer, you're bonkers.

I don't think any player would base their transfer decision on whether they can or can't have a number on their back.

Haha, com'on dude, can't you see that what you're saying is preposterous? Surely you are not serious?

Dare I propose the solution of, him choosing another number?

Really

Ibra wanted No9 from Martial who has been in the huff since he lost it

Lukaku wanted No9

Neymar wouldn't sign for Barca or PSG until offered No10 shirt

told you players are fickle the number is a brand to them

hence Ronaldo CR7

Strange that Ibra 'wanted' the no.9 shirt when he has had the no.10 shirt for so long. Almost as if he didn't care that the no.10 was taken by Rooney so he took the no.9 instead.

Not sure if serious but Kohler are an engine manufacturer.

Edit: worth $6B https://www.forbes.com/companies/kohler/
What? Engine manufacturers?

From Wikipedia :

Kohler is best known for its plumbing products, but the company also manufactures furniture, cabinetry, tile, engines, and generators. Destination Kohler also owns various hospitality establishments in the United States and Scotland.
In February 2017 Kohler Co. acquired UK-based Clarke Energy from the management team and ECI Partners, a multinational specialist in the engineering, construction, installation and maintenance of engine-based power plants and is an authorised distributor of GE’s reciprocating engines in 19 countries worldwide.

They are in the plumbing business mainly.

Think you missed the 335 million price the papers were reporting yesterday.

Also these deals City are getting are very suspicious. Why on earth would any club sell to them at a discounted price?
Either they have an excellent negotiating team or there is a lot of under the table transactions going on
That can get accountants to make accountants lose the ability to count or recognise numbers? That is some team indeed.

exactly, nor would they kick up a fuss, cry and threaten to leave because they did not get a birthday cake.

Sad to see people believing these so called journalist who know nothing. This is an easy guess, the same bull would be when creating those articles... United considering a bid, United were scouting this player or the opinion articles, that could be all written but totally made up. Then join the bandwagon at the right time when everything is clear to get some more credibility and happy to spout shite for the next few months. One funny saga could be the Fabinho one, would be interesting how many of those "journos" got it wrong. and the rest is trying to take the advantage by saying United were never in, and creating a counterstory...

This is just one sad comedy.
Never understand posts like this.
Romano seems to have a decent rep and that’s probably what he’s been told. Things change in football and they can’t get everything right. They might be told things by agents or clubs for a number of reasons and a transfer might not happen but that doesn’t make it shite. There is the usual usual tabloid shite, of course, but it’s a bit weird for people just to dismiss everything.

sorry for the German tweet. According to Welt, Borussia Dortmund are about to sign Werder Bremen midfielder Thomas Delaney for €24m plus €3m in add-ons. The deal could officially be announced on Friday.

Greizmann is announcing his future in early July?!? Wow what an event. I'll schedule time in my diary.
