52m Euros is much more reasonable in that case.
It's 52m Euro now, but once the media get a bit of time it will be converted straight from Euro to pounds. £52m, of course because it's us you also have to calculate his wages for the duration of the contract and any agent or signing on fees and it becomes closer to £100m.

Jose Callejon has a €23m release clause, valid for clubs both inside Italy and abroad. Could be an interesting short term option at RW for us.

Its' done. He's just asking Liverpool to hurry up and meet his/the club's demands. Probably all terms almost agreed.

Pretty sad we aren't going for him despite our deficiency in that position, I think he's a clever player, could be their Eriksen. And before anyone says we will play 4-3-3, its' not like we will only play that formation. Pep has the likes of Bernardo Silva sat on the bench anyway.

He doesn't sound very enthusiastic. If he had any interest in joining you there wouldn't be a delay.
Its not up to Fekir. Lyon are in a strong position and are trying to drive his fee up by attracting more interest. The fee is what’s holding this up.

Waiting for a better offer is what is holding this up.
Well yeah, that’s what Lyon want. Personally I think Fekir wants the move but that alone isn’t enough to get it done.

Lyon don’t have to sell if we’re not offering what they want.

I'm not talking about Lyon, I'm talking about the player. How can you read what his agent said and think he wants to join Liverpool?

Wouldn't surprise me if Lyon are waiting for Bayern to make their move for Fekir...

If he didn’t want to join us he’d come out and say that it’s not happening.

How can you think that he has no interest in joining Liverpool based on what the agent has said?

Seems to me like you are his plan B and he's waiting for plan A to come in for him.

You really think we would be in for him if we didn't have an indication from his entourage that he's open to joining? Aulas is known to drive a hard bargain he wants to wait till after the World Cup hoping for a good display for Fekir which will drive the price up.

No, he f*cking wouldn't.

Come out and say his player has no interest in joining Liverpool? What happens if no other clubs want him? You would make an appalling agent.

I don't think he has any interest in joining Liverpool because his agent actually named Liverpool, but said nothing about his player's desire to join them. He also mentioned other clubs and said it will be a long window. It's blatantly obvious what he's doing but you're entitled to believe what you like.

Don't get your hopes up, is my advice.

Who do you think he chooses between Bayern and Liverpool? Of course he’d move to Liverpool rather than stay at Lyon, but they are obviously waiting for a bigger team to possibly come in.

Then he stays at Lyon. Imagine if he comes out and says, “Yeah he’s off to Liverpool” then we can’t agree a transfer fee. Then no one else comes in and he’s stuck with a fan base that knows that he wanted out.

I’d rather we signed him before the World Cup to avoid the potential of another club coming in, but I don’t think we’d be in for him and negotiating with Lyon if Fekir’s said that he’s not interested.

Yes, I do.
“I did not leave Marseille (this weekend), I am with my family, but I will be clear, we will go with Nabil to Liverpool or elsewhere when there is an agreement with Lyon and if Jean-Michel Aulas gives the green light… Liverpool’s interest exists, but for the moment nothing is done and other clubs could come in. The window will be long.”

This is the full quote from the tweet. My understanding from the full tweet is Liverpool haven't bid enough for Lyon to accept. Lyon don't care where there player goes they just want the most money.

There's always an element of tapping up with these moves, how often have you seen bids accepted by a club and then personal terms rejected. Almost never happens because clubs check with agents to see if the player wants to move first.

The player obviously hasn't said that. It's called keeping your options open. If a bigger team doesn't come in I could see him join Liverpool. It's a step up from Lyon and a big increase in wages. I don't believe for a second that you are his first choice, though.

That doesn't change my opinion at all. I still believe they are waiting for a bigger team to make a move.

Im sure hes interested but that doesn’t mean you’re his only option and obviously lyon want as much £££ as possible so stating nothing is set in concrete gives them both options.

Liverpool will sign Fekir. They managed to get VVD and Keita even after whatever happened. If they are targeting Fekir and he has no other serious offer, Liverpool will get their man.

I would be shocked if a player, going to the world cup, without a release clause would OK a transfer before the world cup to be honest

That's a big caveat and it kind of makes your first statement redundant.

Fekir will go to Liverpool once they meet the asking price of 70m euros. If Bayern or Madrid come in with an offer like that then Liverpool will probably not get him, but that's just speculation.
