I think your issue is with the president of Lyon. And it hasn't gone through. Yet.
Aulas is notoriously famous for his bullshitting, he was insisting Lacazette wasn't gonna be sold until the day he was eventually sold.

If we get him at the quoted price of around £50m, it's a hell of a deal for us.

Is it not a risk to play Kieta, Fabhinho and Fekir in midfield together? It's their first season in the premier league after all. One is bound to flop out of 3. If they get all 3 signings right and the front 3 stay, then they deserve any trophy. They are bound to get a major trophy after a long spell without one.

Going from Henderson, Wijnaldum and Milner to Kieta, Fabinho and Fekir? I didn't think potentially they could get that much better than last season; it seems like it almost certainly will.

Matic, Pogba and Fred in midfield are on paper better than those trio-but a certain system can make players look better than they really are. Pogba needs to step up and Fred needs to make an impact season (can't keep giving players couple seasons to adjust).
You think that Klopp cares about risk in football? Forget Heavy Metal, they play Suicide football. Blow the competition away or capitulate, often in the same game!

Makes me wonder if Salah is going to leave.

I don’t see them dropping Henderson, he’s the captain. For the money they’ve spent Fabinho and Keita will definatley start, with Lallana, Wijnaldum, Milner and Ox providing cover.

Fabinho/Fekir/Keita must be in the region of £150m or so, and I would imagine they’ll be after another CB, GK and a full back to provide cover.

Don’t see Liverpool spending £300m without some sales.
They basically used the Coutinho money for fabinho, keita and Fekir. Like 15m over probably. They didnt spend too much last summer and the Van Dijk fee was part of that I think.

Could see them spending big on Allison if Real Madrid doesnt get him, never heard anything about them going for a CB though so hopefully they ignore that.

Van Dijk they planned for last summer and they only spent like 35m or so on Salah with not much else, so I think that applies to last seasons budget for them.
They bought Ox for 40 last summer too, don’t remember who else either.

They didn’t carry over the VvD fee which was hugely inflated when Southampton saw what they got for Coutinho.

To be fair, Fekir's agent said the same thing. With regard to the price, I don't think I've ever seen him play, but I know he's highly rated. At today's rates, if he's good, it's a good price. Mediocre seems to start at £35 million.

That still leaves them with £70m to carry over from the Coutinho deal, which buys you Keita and nearly half of Fekir.

@JPRouve is it fair to say his style of play resembles that of Hazard? From what I see on YouTube he's strong for a small player, got trickery and vision and can score goals too. Or am I completely off the mark here?

Good player, good price in the current market.

Their transfer activity has been excellent.

But anything can happen next season, Liverpool would have been a threat with or without fekir, keita and Fabinho.

Are they enough to make up the 20 or so points to city? Possibly. But they could equally flop too. Will be interesting to see how things pan out.

Personally, I think they are building a very dynamic young squad and it will be between them and city next year. We will probably finish third.

As well as Liverpool are going about things, I still can't fathom why their fans come on to our forum to talk about these exciting transfers they are making? Do you need our approval or something?

Look Caftards, if it makes you feel better, last season's stats:

Fekir - 21 goals - 9 assists - 2.5 chances created per 90 mins

Depay - 22 goals - 16 assists - 2.9 chances created per 90 mins

Anyone think next season, that Liverpool will for the first time since I can remember have (potentially) man-for-man a better squad than United (not necessarily the first team)? This is not an exaggeration or 'meltdown' connotation used here.

Well, this question could be answered differently at the end of the window if Man utd bring in Bale, or Liverpool gets a new GK/CB. It's extremely close nevertheless.

People also need to stop thinking that Liverpool are fighting with middle-tier clubs in terms of money spent, they have spent an awful lot.

This is not a criticism but a general observation beginning next season Liverpool could field starting eleven consisting of 8 players bought by Klopp and one he promoted from the academy that is if they don't replace Lovern so basically a whole new team so to speak , ignoring the net spend and the budget compared to other top clubs it is completely his own team players he choose so would he come under pressure if he again fail to challenge for the league.
He absolutely should come under pressure.

They're spending serious money right now, he needs to win something.

Oxlade Chamberlain?
True. Transfermarkt has them spending 150m combined last season and selling 150m (broke even), then with these 3 they're basically at 150m this season without selling anyone yet. No idea what they're budget is like, but I doubt that 300m in and 150m ouy over the course of 2 seasons (essentially 75m spent a year) is too much.

They post in transfer forum. All the transfers are posted there. Don't see anything wrong with that.

I have never linked him with Hazard. Thinking about it for the first time, Arshavin is probably closer in terms of what they do on the field but he is stronger.

He should come under pressure from the media, but I doubt he'll feel much pressure. Their fans love him and the style he plays and they just need to look at where they were when he took over and compare that to their team now so I doubt their fans would care if they went trophyless but finished top 4. It's kinda like a point for them where obviously with the players they have, they should be pushing on and challenging, but nobody from their fans would complain much if he didnt and it would take a lot for any of them to turn on him I feel like.

"Can Manchester United score? They always score"
Watched him in the Europa league.

Very good player that will do well for them. Does seem to get injured a bit spending quite a while on the ground every time I watch them.

Liverpool's attack is one of the best in the league and this cements that.

@Yagami must be gutted.

Excellent signing. But i can't see how three new midfielders, arguably better than anything they have got will get integrated. They might drop some points in the beginning or one of them might be benched initially.

Under pressure by who exactly? The owners and fans alike are extremely happy with the way things are going.

If they keep Salah and add a CB and most importantly a GK then they have a chance of competing for the league. Some great signings

So who will Fekir replace at Pool ?
Klopp said they will be looking for a replacement for Coutinho so I think that's who he is replacing. They found it difficult to shoehorn Coutinho, Salah, Mané and Firmino though and their best form of the season was when Coutinho was no longer an option and the midfield 3 played a bit a deeper. So I think he will be part of the rotation for the forward line and might get extra games in midfield against weaker opponents.

Liverpool under Klopp.
Keita - £48m
Fabinho - £43m
Fekir - £48m
Mane - £32m
Van Dijk - £75m
Chamberlain - £40m
Salah - £34m
Wijnaldum - £25m
Robertson - £8m
Karius - £5m
Total - £358m
That's just the initial prices without counting some of the minor signings.
Jose in comparison:
Mkhi - £27m
Pogba - £89m
Bailly - £30m
Lindelof - £30m
Lukaku - £75m
Matic - £40m
Fred - £47m
Dalot - £19m
Total - £357m
Sure Klopp have been there for one more year, but then I didn't count Lallana and Firmino who joined in summer 2015 just three months before Klopp.
They have spent really well, but surely they must be expected to win or at least mount a serious title challenge next season?
Afterall, Jose was heavily criticized for failing to compete with City in just his second year?
