Julen Lopetegui and Unai Emery are the same person.

Brazil won a World cup not so long ago, but its actually been nearly 20 years since they last won one.

Since Abramovich took over, Chelsea have won at least one trophy every season.

Jesus Christ this got me.

16 years since my favourite kits, boots and ball at a world cup. 16 years since Ronaldo's silly haircut.

So sixteen years since we had Ruud at his absolute best too.

Liverpool have a 100% win record (excluding games against United) whenever I actually take the time to watch them.

United's performances are completely dependent on my mood before a game, confidence leads to a terrible performance, general apathy always leads to a good game.

The mate I take to Old Trafford whenever my dad can't make it is the luckiest of lucky charms. Shame he can't afford a season ticket.

Messi/Ronaldo will always score within 5 minutes of me flicking to a Barca/Madrid game to check the score.

If I can't remember who won the FA Cup in any particular year, then it was Chelsea who won it. The same applies to Germany and World Cups.

Arsenal being relevant feels like it was about 25 years ago despite me only being 27.

United have never lost when it's raining.
Most of these are bang on the money

Andreas Christensen has been at age 20 for eternity. He also has been at Chelsea for 20 years.

Every smaller European team at the World Cup has a Dutch coach.
Every smaller South American team has a coach from Argentinia.

Mexico have used the exact same squad for every World Cup in their entire history. Their entire squad has 100 caps, except for Rafael Marquez, who has 300.

Marcelo is the best LB in the world despite not actually ever defending.

Seriously I cant ever remember him ever being in his own half.

And every West African team has a slightly dodgy/messianic/Kinski-esque German coach called Gerhard or Gunther.

Every 5 or so years, there is a cycle where one family will suddenly dominate the game in terms of number of players.

Dembele
Diouf
Rodriguez
Costa

In every World Cup fixture, one of the teams is always wearing their away kit.

The further away the country is from Russia, the more fans that country has in the stands.

Marcelo has never won a header in his career.

Despite having the best players all over the world playing; the quality of the teams in the World Cup is average to good.

Commentators are very dense ex footballers that are hired based on their ability to repeat scripts. They all have personalities of a brick wall and would never make it as managers or in any other entertainment field.

Game management is now the new buzzword about town and this totally new concept... even though conservative play has been round forever

Also pundits using first name terms with players constantly... obviously there’s varying degrees like Rio calling Lingard ‘Jesse’ once in a while is ok because they’ve probably known each other for years, and then you get the ludicrous like Alan Brazil saying ‘Cristiano’ on Talksport constantly.

Every time I watch a match which David Ospina is involved in, he always needs a medical help at least once. And he never gets subbed.

So true  got to be the biggest wimp in football. He's always on the floor and makes a miraculous recovery.

The world cup is the only time we consistently see goals scored with the outside of the boot.

Whenever a side scores close to the end of the game as Iran did, they always get another gilt-edged chance to win it before the end and fluff the chance. Very rarely is that second chance scored.

Also related to today, a dodgy keeper often saves pens.
