I really don't know where you're going with this tbh....

Anyways, Damian, the Italian Elvis, any fee worth throwing at someone else, plus the wages.
You don't know where I was going with it? It's really not hard to understand.

I have a hard time believing Juve don't have 20mil to spare.
Of course they do. However the €8 million of a difference between their offer and our request is probably needed somewhere else in their budget.

I wonder did they think they would easily get Darmian on the cheap.

They need to get real, they should just offer 15mil plus 5mil in add ons. Mind you if we sold him last year we probably would have had no problems with the asking fee.

I wouldn’t complain at €12m but I expect the club aren’t in a hurry to sell and are trying to hold off for as much as possible. Fair enough.

My only concern is they decide on an alternative and we’re stuck with a player we won’t really use.

Like most Italian players, I’m sure Darmian is a great bloke, but I don’t think he’s ever shown any interest in playing for us.

Well, I stated I could fill 12 sheets of paper with better players (for united) than Di Maria, I then stated he was basically crap. Then you go onto speaking about his quality. Furthermore, accepting he was crap for us. But whatever you do actually mean, is completely irrelevant to this thread...

No. After hours upon hours of reading scouting reports, watching video and brainstorming, they said "Darmian! That's the right back we need to win the CL! That's the missing link!"

Of course they thought they could get him cheap and easy. That's the entire reason for their interest

He just got on a flight somewhere, had his passport pic on his Instagram story.

Hopefully a flight to Turin!

Problem is Marotta is so real this will go on until the very last day and he will get him on a cheap loan with the right to buy, which will not happen, like Howedes this last season

He's probably got one of the lowest wages as a senior squad member so I doubt we're desperate to get him out.

We are desperate to get him out with that Porto lad coming in. He's surplus to requirements and is pointless having him now.

Equally crap on both sides more like. Some seem to put a lot of stock into the fact he's an Italian international, that doesn't mean what it used to. The current Italy team is probably it's worst in half a century, they didn't even qualify for the World Cup.

Who are these top fullbacks he's keeping out of the Italian side i wonder.

Behave yourself, the only reason they're not in Russia is because they foolishly thought they only have to turn up in the play-offs against Sweden, but they played some great stuff in their qualifying Group.

Can't remember what you said last time, so i'll ask again, what has Italy not qualifying for the World Cup got to do with the price of snuff, would you not want United to sign Verratti because Italy didn't qualify, would you not want United to sign Matthijs de Ligt because Holland didn't qualify, would you have recommended United didn't sign George Best because Northern Ireland didn't qualify ?????

And on the fullbacks, i'm surprised you didn't do some research

You still hoping Fellaini signs a new contract ?

Oh thats me told then. I did say probably the worst, you could argue other squads were worse and thats fine. But seeing as this is the first time they've failed to qualify for the World Cup since the 50's and they've won it twice and got to two other finals since then. The current lot are definitely no where near their best teams of the last 50-60 years. And there in lies the problem, i've seen hundreds of posts on here using the fact he's an Italian international defender as proof Darmian isn't that bad. But being an Italy defender doesn't mean what it used to when Italy had most of the world's best defenders.

Could be wrong but i don't believe we ever discussed it before so i'm not surprised you can't remember mate.

It was rhetorical mate, if Darmian is a regular then no research is required.

You still hoping Fellaini signs a new contract ?
I'm telling you mate the worry is keeping me up at nights.

Hang on in there, only a few more days now before he signs a new contract and you'll be able to rest easy again
Oh i will mate, will be a tense 3 weeks of worrying whether or not a player of Fellaini's calibre will do United the honour of choosing to extend his stay. Same with Darmian.

Hope were actively looking for replacements/upgrades. Would like to see his minutes go to someone who has the potential to be class.

£120,000 in yen.
I don't know if i even rate him that highly. Thankfully for United's bank balance clubs in Italy do seem to rate him and don't conduct transfer deals in Japanese Yen.

So Cancelo signing for Juventus fecked us up? Will we able to send Darmian to Napoli? Haggling over a few million euros might come back to bite us in the arse..

Yeah but Juve are tight bstards man, could be another tactic to save a million euro in Darmian. I hope we don't sell to Italian clubs again, they make a straight forward deal very complicated.

After screwing Darmian to Juve up royally, good luck to our negotiators trying to convince Juve to sell Alex Sandro to us, assuming of course we are still interested.

You will never sell Darmian at 20 million, free agent in 6 months

10-12 million is the best you can get.
