Fellaini, not that I massively rate him but the exaggeration of his ineptitude is pathetic by now. You can’t just say something over and over and make it true, he’s actually decent on the ball, can do a good role defensively when needed and just because chest control and heading is a strength, does not mean he is limited to these things or ‘hoofball’. It’s a redcafe myth.

Valencia. Bla bla bla defenders shins bla bla bla. One of the best right backs in the league, still effective going forward if not as good attacking wise as the highly defensively suspect Marcello. Easily has another year as a good right back for us, has been let down by blatant ignoring of our right side for years, and when he was at his best as a winger, he was one of the top wingers in the league. Redcafe myth 2 is that he is a kick it and chase it, slam it against the first man guy

Players that played with us down the years often referred to a shite despite not being remotely shite, just didn’t happen here- poborsky, Chadwick, veron, Taibi.

I think Mignolet is a better goalkeeper than some realise. He just makes too many glaring mistakes.

Would have been Harry Maguire before the World Cup.

I have always thought that Jack Cork and Steven Davis are very good under the radar Premier League midfielders.

Henderson. He's like Darren Fletcher. Loved by the fans but everyone else think's he's a goofy looking nothing player.

Smalling, definitely.

Henderson is a better footballer than most give him credit for but it's understandable. And he's still not very good, mind you.

Players I rate in the sense of what they could be

Adama Traoré - He was slated on here before (rightfully so) but I think he has incredible potential.

Ki Sung-yueng. I think it was a cocktail of tactics, attitude and poor team performances that stopped him ever really showing what he can do here. Technically very accomplished but was shoehorned into a more defensive role than I think he was suited to, emphasised his poor tackling and his passing was very conservative and sideways. When given more freedom his passing impressed me.

Not current but Nani was always one that was criminally underrated by our own fans and others.

Marouane Fellaini. He is made out to be a joke and I think he's a dirty fecker at times but he's not as poor as people make out.

Emre Can.

Remember being really surprised that Liverpool managed to get him for £10m - he looked like a Madrid signing.

Juventus could be the making of him.

On what basis does he look like a Madrid signing? If you think Khedira is the typcal Madrid signing then sure, but not if you look at the talent level of Modric, Kroos, Alonso etc.

Before he moved to Liverpool (and even in his early time there), it just looked like the kind of player Madrid would move for - in that role as a no.6. But yeah, not as a rival to Modric or Kroos.

Was suggested Madrid were keeping tabs on him when the Juve deal was stalling. I always thought he'd outgrow Liverpool, though that was under Rodgers. Klopp was getting a tune out of him, but then he just became inconsistent - in hindsight, it could've been because he wasn't happy at Liverpool.

There's a good player there though, that's for sure. Would be typical of Juve to get the best out of him.

Adama has the understanding and decison-making of a child, he is nowhere near. He has tons of speed, but so does Usain Bolt and he too would make a rubbish footballer. Adama is the kind of player that would dribble the keeper and two defenders 10/10 times instead of passing the ball to a completely open player in front of the goal.

Chris Smalling , I feel people tend to overcriticize him and he rarely makes mistakes and is always fit. He's only shaky with the ball and for a defender that's not much of a big deal

Mandzukic. Quality goalscorer and absolute warrior but never got the admiration he deserved.

Who doesn't rate Perisic though? Weird.

On this forum?

Blind, Smalling, Mata come to mind immediately. Not that I think all three are world class or something but they're much better than you'd think going by the average comment.

A Crack Habit.
Most of Liverpool's first 11 who get slated on here for tribal rather than footballing reasons.

William Carvalho - Very disciplined, neat and methodical would work wonders at most premiership sides outside of the top 4 -5 where he may be offer too little going forward but offer a brilliant platform for more talented players around him to play.

Fellaini - Nowhere near as bad a footballer as most on here make him out to be and a very effective AM/Deep lying target man when used correctly.

David Luiz - should never be played as a CB in a 2 CB partnership as he is a complete disaster but as a Libero or DM/Half back he's truly a force to be reckoned with.

Emile Heskey - One of the best support strikers/Target men around during his time, selfless and made runs that other more talented strikers wouldn't make and always there to make sure the ball stuck in the final third, if he didn't have the major flaw of poor finishing might well have played for some of the best clubs in world football.

Blind: incredible reading of the game, stunning technique, just a little slow at times.
James McClean: a true workhorse with very good end product. What he may lack in talent he more than makes up for with heart, desire and workrate which puts him above many other more talented players for me.
Claudio Yacob: prone to a hefty challenge or two but once again reads the game well and works extremely hard in the middle, a decent ball player too.

I think your 2nd sentence might need some work if you're gonna win anybody round here, :D.
