feck me we had one maybe two guaranteed starters in our line up. Its a non contest.
Of course and I agree however I don't think anyone can deny than Liverpool play a significantly better brand of football than us and this isn't going to change irrespective of players available, and they have improved the quality of their squad with some astute purchases. What you will find is that we'll be terrible in the first part of the new PL season given that our pre-season isn't going well and our best players won't be at full fitness. We will improve but my feeling is that we will lose ground early and therefore will struggle again to challenge for the league this year. Realistically, I'm expecting a top 4 finish.

Liverpool don’t half have some odd looking feckers in their squad.

Anyway, we were shit but people need to breathe. Pre-season means very little...we’ve had pre-seasons where we smashed some of the best teams in the World in July and won feck all.

And for the people saying we should’ve signed Shaqiri...deary me.

I could agree with that first half, we got mullered by there second string majority of the second half. I agree with the post you replied to though, they have added strength and creativity to there midfield especially after losing Emre, depth to attackign options with Shaquihri (who will be from th bench) and actualyl now have a good keeper. This game is meaningless towards the season ahead of course, but painful to watch

Pre season results mean nowt but added to the transfer window so far, it’s been a fecking shit show, no wins, grumpy manager, disillusioned fans etc.
It will be another long and boring season ahead I reckon with a top 4 battle and many one shot on target games ahead. Really pray we get some signings in and get rid of Darmian the useless turd.

They do but that doesnt stop us beating them in the season does it?

It's the one who's won more trophies you melt.
Eh? How do you work that out? Not that I give a tiny rats arse like, because I don't, but I have to pull you on this whopper. What you said is like saying Wenger is better than Klopp because he's won more trophies.

All we have are two forwards in the entire squad
Is that the excuse now? Do we need to have 5forwards or so to show attacking intent? The whole team should be able to push forward in unison regardless of the number of forwards in play.

This is just poor of Jose,he ought to be doing better. Preseason is there for a reason, to try new things and implement ideas, not just continue where you left off last season.

It’s a preseason friendly
We played with a team of individuals who have hardly played together and bar Sanchez are non starters. In fact some may never play for the team again or will be no where near the first team. It’s never nice losing to Liverpool but people need to relax a bit. The game means absolutely nothing.

It’s almost like the circumstances have changed. It’s easy to be positive and have a productive discussion when things seem promising. Five years of shite football though. It takes its toll.
Come on now. Half the posts these days are just completely pointless sound bites and hyperbole, its got feck all to do with the quality of football and Im not expecting people to be bouncing off the walls with excitement anyway, Ive got no issue with negative comments at all when theres a little effort and thought put into them. I just fail to see the point in posting the same boring one liners every other cnut already has.

Thought Jose hung the kids out to dry in that game. Noticeably more kids starting than usual on this tour and then much more on the pitch at one time than there have been in any other game by the end. Not without reason I'm sure.

This is Jose that Kloop hasn't beaten since he takes over United in 2016?
Look, don’t try and talk sense to me. As far as I’m concerned Mourinho may as well be responsible for world hunger, aids, and the Middle East crisis. That’s how much I hate him. I’ve gone past the point of rational discussion.

I didn't think that losing this meaningless friendly with not even half a team would be the end of the World.

But apparently, it is - .

No idea under Moyes. Dull under LVG. Dull under Mourinho... wonder if the next man will be any different?

A bit embarrassing for United to lose 4-1 to Liverpool, there was nothing riding on this so I can't be too aggravated by it though.

The first half we played well, got lucky a few times but the general approach of countering worked fine. Mata had the ball in the net twice but the flag was rightly raised both times for offside.

When Liverpool's big players went off at half time our intensity dropped hugely. Perhaps the players thought they could relax because they didn't have Salah and Mane to deal with? If so, big mistake. As the game went on tiredness may have become a factor too, given that Liverpool are further ahead in preseason than us. Still the concentration lapses, especially at the back, weren't what you'd want to see even in a friendly.

The defence as a whole probably played well for about 15 minutes of that match. The three centre backs looked very hesitant, was surprised to see them take a step backwards after the Milan game. Demi did Luke Shaw a lot of favours and Darmian made the case for his exit even more powerful.

Andreas was the only plus point really.

I wasn't saying trophies determines who is better, I was just saying the one who has more trophies out of the two is the better manager.

Absolute fecking EMBARRASSING ! Rather give Jose the money to go get the players he wants or sack him because at this moment in time we are gunna fall majorly short again! I know we are missing some big players but we even need to improve on some of them to even think of competing with city or the scouse b@$tards !!!! Sort it out Woodward !

From reading the posts here, one could think that it was a Champions League final  Besides, get a grip lads, if you thought that suddenly Jose would make us play some fast keep-you-on-your-toes football.

It doesn't matter if there were players that aren't going to start for us. Liverpool didn't exactly have their best team in the period they took over in the game. Didn't Mane and Salah go off at half time? We still had some players that will get lots of games under Mourinho like Herrera, McTominay, Mata, Bailly etc.

No but thats not my point. I couldn't care less if they did the double over us as long as we win the league.

I just merely pointed out the fact that Liverpool whether we like to acknowledge it or not play significantly better and more entertaining football than us and have improved their squad, and therefore I think they'll challenge this season. I'm not confident that we will.

Meltdown on losing a friendly with all the main squad absent, against a team we haven't lost against in the league ever since LVG himself was here.

Caf in nutshells.
