That's how they operate. Fabregas, Coutinho - you name it.

Atleast Madrid are pretty upfront about these things.
They have by far the worst antics in the transfer market. They'll have their best players talking up a move for Pogba every other day in the media. They'll want your player and if they can't afford him, and I dont think they can, Pogba in this market, then they'll resort to their shithouse tactics in a hope to drive down the price.

Hope, We Lose
I think Andre Gomes can get back on track to becoming a good player and I do think Mina is a potential star CB for the future, but we'd have had to have been nuts to trade Pogba for that.

There's no way that offer was made with any expectations of us excepting it, literally only done to rock the boat and destabilise Pogba's position at the club. Classic Barca tactics.
Yep, this is all building up towards trying to get him for a knock-down fee next summer.

We are fecked.

He WILL push to leave...
Barca have until the end of August to make transfers too right?

I don't think you'll sell him though. He's not just a player, he's a huge asset commercially. Surely your board will realise how much they lose by letting him go.

Of course they do. His face is used in practically all our advertising  he's our poster boy, the cash cow, every level of the club knows how valuable he is to us on and off the pitch.

Worrying if true. Barca would not be testing the waters without some type of a go a head from pogbas camp. Just knew that getting into bed with the fat b****** Mino would end up costing us in the future.

If we sell Pogba at all during his current contract, which has 4 years left to run, then it should be for a world record fee.

Tell Barcelona £300million, all up front. No negotiation.

If they want to act like silly beggars, then treat them like cnuts.

Offer more money in wages to Pogba than Barcelona could afford, and withold larger bid offers from Barcelona because we aren't Liverpool and don't need the money as much as they do.

I'm not sure there are wages you could offer Pogba that Barca couldnt match, I mean just check how much they pay their best players.

Also Coutinho was not sold because we needed money. It was because he made it clear he wanted to leave and was refusing to play. If Pogba would do the same I'd be shocked if you didnt want rid.

When you said they shouldnt be messing with a big club like United I genuinely thought you had something in mind. The reality is that at any club if the player is unsettled or wants away (we'll see with Pogba but a bid only comes in if a player is interested) then it becomes unfeasible to keep him around.

Not sure they can do it, which might be why they are trying to cobble a cash plus player deal. If somebody is going to do that offer better players than you have.
Yeah if they are gonna give us a player that will have to replace pogba which they can't. Do see this deal happening in this day when we can credibly ask for 200m plus

We have all the power, and are not in any sort of position where we need to sell. It's just not happening.
:lol::lol::lol:

We have all the power...

He has just won the world cup, we are shit, he has fallen out with the manager (who is a busted flush) and one of the best teams in the world want him. Oh and his agent is infamous for moving players.

If he wants to go he will, him and his agent will pull every trick the the book.

Oh well, we have McTominay.

I mean you got 150m for coutinho so we could realistically hold out for 200m plus which they can't afford. These offers are very clearly just games to get him to force a move. Even coutinho couldn't do that tho

I would not be selling Pogba, you build your team round him. Also don't agree with Jamie Redknapp much, but he is right that Jose took easy option picking Valencia as captain, when it should be Pogba.
You got a link to what Jamie said matey?

Likelihood of Pogba doing what coutinho did is slim given he's been here barely 2 seasons and has an affinity to United being a Manchester lad in his own eyes. I'd be very surprised if he pulled a strike like that.

And Liverpool did need the money tbf. That bid would have been accepted even if Coutinho didn't force the move. Liverpool tend to lose a key player as soon as they become world class. We aren't really the same, especially when they're a commercial goldmine like Pogba is.

Knock down fee ? He is not going below 150m atleast for the next 2 years
Look at how they signed Fabregas from Arsenal. Rumour after rumour, shirt swapping and other bullshit tactics. Eventually Arsenal yielded and sold him for €29 million - for one of the top midfielders in the league. They turn players heads so they can force a transfer, or the club has to sell on the cheap.

They didn't even have the gall to put in a respectable offer. What they have offered is insulting and derisory. It's like us offering Darmian, Rojo and Phil Jones + €50 million Euros for Messi.

They are a shithouse, unethical, money-laundering, ref-surrounding, diving, parent-napping, HGH-injecting, Ronaldinho-hijacking, look-at-me-I'm-the-president-of-Barcelona dickskin of a club.

I wouldn't put anything past them. I hope we stay strong, but players hold all the power thesedays unfortunately.

:lol::lol: What a terrible offer.

Maybe they throw in a roll of Pringles next to up their bid?
Just perfect! Because all was going so well for us already. Even if he wants to go we can't allow the Barcelona or Real Madrid to treat us like we are less. He must see out as much of his contract as possible.

And we need to win stuff again. We've fallen so far off track. Losing Pogba would only make our situation worse.

:(

Not that it matters much, but the deal for Coutinho was something like 105-110 million up front and the rest in add ons.

Willian and Toby would be great for me. I know Willian isn’t everyone cup of tea because of his age but he can actually play right wing and he can deliver crosses consistently... a damn sight more consistently than what we’ve got now apart from maybe Sanchez.

The difference is Barcelona had money from the Neymar transfer. There is no way the club would accept anything less than £150m upfront. I don’t think Barcelona would match that.
