2/10.

Only worse window I can remember is Fellaini's. Thanks to Valencia, Dalot and Mourinho we didn't even get rid of the dross called Darmian. 3/10 if he leaves before August 31st.

I’d say a 3.

Fred looks like he will be a decent signing.
Grants a good back up keeper and useful to have.
Dalot, no idea in honesty. If he can make an impression then I’ll up this to a 4.

Managed to sell Blind, but Darmian, Rojo and Wilson are all still here.

Fellaini signing is probably a positive too. Imagine how many midfielders we could have been linked with and refused to pay for had he left as well

It’s so bad that it’s almost making me feel sorry for Mourinho.

Just extraordinary that no exciting transfers have been done. We play boring football, and haven’t signed anyone - sooner or later it’s going to effect us commercially and for that reason, if no other, Woodward should have done more.

3/10.

Fred looks a good signing for midfield, Dalot looks good for the future and hopefully will feature later in the season once he gets his sea legs, Grant is a fine English keeper to who'll happily play third fiddle.

However Dalot joined us on June 6th, and though I appreciate the WC isn't ideal groundwork can be put in and deals can be done just after and in the following month or so. We were obviously in the market for various players this past couple of months, didn't manage to nail any of our targets and it's blatantly obvious we're not happy with our squad as it stands.

This could be curtains for Jose. Clearly was not backed in this window, so I would say the board are thinking about the next manager already.

It's been farcical summer in every sense.

Last year Mourinho submitted a list to Woody in May and he didn't get the players but this summer we got a repeat but worse as we desperately needed a LB, a RW as a minimum but failed.

4. Fred's a good signing but we didn't fix any of our problems. You could argue we signed Fred as fellaini's replacement and he then didn't leave. Ageing full backs, lack of threat from the right side of attack and lack of a ball playing centre half all unresolved. 4 might be too generous. It's the kind of window which makes you wonder if the board are looking for a new manager.

3/10. I think Fred and Dalot was good business. That being said we are spending less than wolves... This is especially bad after the year man city had. I don't know what is happening behind the scenes, but this does not bode well for the future. We should be catching city up and keeping up with our rivals. 3/10,because I think 2009 +2013 windows were worse. Too bad we don't have SAF to bail us out anymore.

It's a 4 for me, but with 6-7 potential.

Fred can give us something only Pogba can. Agility and ability to run past a high press.
Dalot has potential and could upheave one of Valencia/Young if he is as good as Mourinho rates him and Porto fans report about him.

It's commercially poor, yet, it's potentially a decent one if two of the three signings work out.

France - can't win anything with Swedish turnips
Disappointed we didn't get a RW but otherwise as long as we don't sell anyone before the end of the transfer window, reasonably happy.
Hopefully people like Rashford, Martial and Shaw will blossom this year and Pogba matures a bit more. Fred looks like a good addition. Dalot no idea.

4 - not for us but in general. It just feels like not enough has changed and everything is too similar to last season.

I would give us a 5. Very disappointing in terms of bringing players in, but as long as we don't sell anyone before the end of August we have at least improved our squad with Fred and Dalot, and not really weakened it anywhere.

We've had transfer windows in the past where we've spent a ton of money turning our squad into an imbalanced mess.

Voted 5. Fred and Dalot are good signings. Had we got a good right winger, I'd give it a 7.

After that though, for us to have a great window, it would have taken a top player in their position, one arguably world class to give more than a 7. We needed that I think either at right wing or center back but, there were no real options out there, at least none that readily wanted to come this season. So overall, it's a midling window.

Squad we have now is the one we have - just need everyone rowing in the same direction and that starts with Mourinho.

Yup, only Fellaini's one was worse.
I would say the first under LVG. Everyone seemed pleased because we got loads of players in...but we also let quite a few go that had absolutely no relevance to the players we'd brought in, and ended up having to constantly play people out of position all season in nearly every area of the pitch except for the goalkeeper.

Of the players we bought during that window, none would get in our first team now. Most aren't even here anymore. We must have spent close to £200m too, which would be a lot now never mind then.

Not a bad team, if all goes well we can finish 3rd

Liverpool & City will make 30-40 pts more than us

Naa. Buying Fellaini for more than his release clause, thinking he'll be worth less when it expires (:wenger:), not being able to trigger Herrera's and hiring a muppet at helm surely can't be worse even if you attempt it on purpose.

Disaster window. no right winger or a good full backs and we should have sold smaling or jones.

3 out of ten. Fred and Dalot look like tidy players and Courtois going to Madrid should equal David De Gea stopping with us for the foreseeable future. Still absolutely criminal that we haven't addressed the big weaknesses in our squad (CB, LB and RW) which will come back to bite use at numerous points in the future.

I would give it a 5. Decent addition in midfield and a young full back with potential. However the downsides for me where, renewing Fellaini's contract and failure to address the RW problem. My rating will go up if we can offload Darmian, Rojo and Jones to a 7/8. Still a couple of weeks to sell so I will review my score then

2/10. Too many of our all-too-apparent weaknesses from last season have been left unaddressed. While we have a good enough squad on paper, and Pogba's performances during the WC should be a cause for optimism, he and Martial don't appear to be fully committed.

The best bit of transfer news as far as I'm concerned was Courtios to Real, which is saying something.

I've given it a 6 coz Martial is still here and we bought a RB and CM. Perierra hasn't gone out on loan so he is a good addition.

Should have got a LB for the window to be better. Was surprised we we're chasing a CB more than an LB.

Mate, be a bit objective. Biggest weakness from last season was our rigid tactics and LB, not squad depth or quality. Can't solve tactics with player signings.

Yeah it was pretty bad to be fair  ...there was also the fumbled last minute attempt to sign a left back after for some reason spending the whole summer holding out for Leiton Baines.

I've changed my mind. I agree with you

7 cause on reflection, it was clear early on that the exciting type of transfers like a Bale were never going to happen. Wasnt linked with full backs whether or a winger so if not signing a CB is suppose to be why I'm disappointed, I'm not. The 7 is what I think is going to be an outstanding signing in Fred.

4. I liked what we did but we didn't do enough, incoming or outgoing.

The general feeling seems to be that there was a discrepancy between what Jose wanted (older, experienced) vs. what the board (younger, higher resale value) wanted. My question is, if you aren't going to support the manager's wishes, why hand him a new contract at the beginning of this year? I am not saying that the Glazers are miserly (actually the opposite) but the board should have been fully aware of the type of player Jose prefers and yet this happens...Also, Jose has made it clear that certain players are free to leave but the lack of offers for our players is concerning and serves to highlight the mediocrity that pervades our squad. Overall, there appears to be a significant lack of communication and understanding between the manager and the board. Sadly, it looks like we will have to continue to suffer from all of the poor signings and wasted money in recent years.

Actually there is, he could hire a Director of Football to target players who do fit the profile of the club and/or are reasonably priced. What's the point of our current set up if we don't trust or back the manager's judgement in terms of the players we target?
Jose has a history of clashing with directors or those in similar roles and sometimes even forcing them out of the club - Valdano, Emenalo, Ribalta etc

Gave it 3. We're screaming for a top class CB. If we could have got Mina it would have been a 10.
What...Barca aren't selling him if he was top class, and trust me if we wanted him, he'd have been here for that money.

The Coentrão loan that couldn't be done in time was it ?

How he's keeping the job and Benzema starting each week for Madrid are the two mysteries in modern time I have no explanation of..
