    DDG amazing
Bailly good but also a few lunaticy moments
Lindeloff not convincing but hasn't done much wrong
Darmian...wtf,i mean how come all those good /decent clubs are after him??
    Shaw bit slow at times
    Pereira best on the team
Fred promising af. Given its the first PL game ever for him it's obvious he needs to adjust to the pace and pressing hence losing possession.Great energy, both feet passing and positioning
    Pogba not the best day
    Alexis absolutely woeful
    Mata pointless, passenger
Rashford see Mata. This is why you don't play him alone upfront.

We had 59 expected goals last year and scored 68, but that spread of +9 isn't too far out of line with the other good teams, because they have good finishers (City +15, Spurs +5 and Liverpool +7 and Arsenal and Chelsea +3).

To really compete til the final week for the league, you'd figure we need to go up at least another 15 goals (and that assume City go back down about 90 points and not 100) and it's just hard to see us scoring 80+ goals if we sit back this much and don't look scary on the counter.

Our defence and midfield has been good, although Darmian is clearly a weak point that they are exploiting, but the attack has been poor. Launching long balls to Rashford is not going to work, and Mata and Sanchez have been wank. Get Martial on for Mata, push Sanchez on the right and go from there.

Leicester are a decent team to be fair. Think we've done okay first half.

Rashford up top on his own is just not a good outlet. Has he got a knock? Clearly see what we are missing without Lukaku.

Also I really sympathize with the frustration regarding our style. But it just isn't as bad as it's made out to be. Once we get our transition to be better it will lead to some exciting counter attacking goals

Please take off Mata. Might as well play Sanchez on the right, and bring Martial and Lukaku on.

Midfield has been good and defence very good. Credit to Shaw and Periera for taking their chance well so far.

Sanchez is such a talent and he’s been wasted on the wing it’s scandalous.
Being on the wing is no excuse for being incapable of completing 5-yard passes and running straight in to a defender whenever you try and do anything else with it.

Rashford is not ready to start as 9. Fred is good but losing balls in very key areas.

Started very well indeed. Pogba looked very good, especially early on. He's been the best player perhaps with Bailly. Darmian a massive concern in this game. Looking like a serious liability at times.

Need to get better control of the ball in the second half. Also need to see a lot more from Rashford, Mata and Sanchez. Fred had looked bright but maybe a little nervous at times.

I feel that would work better.
Absolutely. Only until Lukaku comes on to replace Mata, then we get Lukakus hold up play along with Sanchez’s defensive effort down the right and Rashfords useless dribbling down the left but still some defensive effort.

Well glad to see we have picked up where we left off last season by being second best at home to fecking Leicester. Woeful. Darmian, Fred, Sanchez and Mata should all be taken off and shot

    Interesting game. Work in progress:

. How much training have Rashford and Pogba had? Not much.

. Brand new CB partnership (I believe this is their first competitive match together).

    . 2 x PL debuts in midfield.

Some good football going on, but clear to see everyone is not up to speed. Add in Matic, Lukuku and maybe Martial and things are looking positive.
Pereira played for us in the PL before. Made his debut in March 2015.

Darmian is so shite. Our right side has been exploited the whole half, not sure how to plug it. Maybe take off Mata, move Rashford to the right and sub on Lukaku.

Perreira has been brilliant. Shaw has done well. Sanchez and Rashford really need to improve. Fred has been decent but good signs so far. Looks to move it forward more often than not.

We need to take control of the possession. We have been very sloppy with it.

You clearly don’t really understand counter attacking football.
How many counter attacks have you seen today big lad?

Nobody doubts why we're set up the way we are - we're saying it doesn't fecking work.

    Negatives-

    Mata= invisible
    Darmian- useless
Rashford- losing the ball all the time too weak

    Positives-

    Pereira- looked composed
    Pogba- done well both boxes
    De gea- awesome save

Sanchez and fred seem to be trying too hard and not.much working for either

Came out the blocks extremely quick, got the goal and then sat back.

Defended reasonably well, especially on set pieces, and have looked to counter Leicester.

Unfortunately, we haven't been able to beat Leicester's press, which has meant we haven't been able to counter them.

Second half, we need to just calm down a bit when we do win possession of the ball. The counter is there. We've had a few nearly moments, but just haven't been there.

Ideally, we need to have a ball carrier on both wings. Mata is set up for more of a possession game, which we're not doing at the moment.

I'd like to see Rashford on the right, with Lukaku down the middle and Sanchez on the left.

yeah I don't understand football as a former pro, you are clueless if you think this is a good display from us at home against average leicester side, feckign coach potato will tell me anything about football. 1:0 up is perhaps the only positivity from the first half, against a promising but hardly flawless performance form Fred and very good Bailly at the back.

BTW form your counter attacking we created exactly zero chances

Schmeichel moaning about our performance on my telly. Far too negative. United soaked up Leicester’s pressure well and then took control later on despite being sloppy. Has been alright so far overall.

Pogba, understandably, looks tired. Struggled to sort his legs out several times.

I wish we dared to take more risk. Punish Leicester with a through ball when they press high with several players.

Not a bad half, but we shouldn't rely on counters to such a degree at home.

We're playing a midtable team and are neither better nor worse. Looks like that's where we're at - midtable.
Ladies and gentlemen, the first 45 mins of the 1st game and the assumption had been made.

    Incredible.

How Jose can look at that right side and think "yeah, ball playing CB is the missing piece" is beyond me. Starting to wonder if he is on the fizzy pipe.
Exactly, mate. Is he still clinging on Perisic to come here?

    Neither do our players, clearly.
Our final ball out was lacking, and that was the problem. It’s the first half of the first game ffs and we started well. Why can’t people find the positives?

There is an easy solution to this. Just needs to put Sanchez on the right and either Rashford or Martial on the left. I really don’t understand what Jose’s issue with not doing this is.
Perhaps Sanchez is contracted to play in his favorite position on the left, in addition to his £475k per week...

any other day leicester pressing up high is probably jose wet dream. too bad we have sanchez and mata . practically it's rashford by himself.

if we have giggs and beck our counter would be devastating with all that space to run with pace

I understand why Jose wanted a CB then. He basically gave up on any sort of positive football.

On the other note, i do hope Fred will be much, way much better in defence. Because if not, that is 50m wasted (again). Right now, i think he lost almost every 50-50 he was involved in, hardly won any balls with tackles, fouled a couple of times, should probably had a yellow as well.
