I only saw the ‘breaking news’ and headline of serious knee injury. But looks like he’s out for 2 months, whilst that’s a blow to him, I wouldn’t call that serious, I was expecting it to be 6 months or more, seems like an overreaction from the media.

Glad it’s not serious, he’s a wonderful player, even if he does play for City.

I'm no Dr.but if the injury was severe would the medical team allow him to walk about town even assisted by crutches?

Nothing Dr. Cugat won't be able to fix, a short trip to Barcelona for few weeks and he'd be up and running!

Sorry for the guy but he'll get a special medicine in Barcelona and he'll be well in no time.
I must say it's funny seeing Liverpool being mention so much. Redcafe overrating their biggest rival, nobody mentions United.

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
Hope City fail this season, but I don't wish a miserable injury on a young man that stops him from doing what he loves.

So I hope he recovers well - but wins as few trophies with City as possible!

He should go to Barca I reckon, he's much more of a Barca player than Pogba.

Best possible timing and increases his chances of being fit for the business end of the season when he ran out of gas last year.

This sucks but they have serious depth, the Silva brothers plus Mahrez will plus the gap.

He'll be a big miss, but I think Man city will do fine without him, they have tons of talent on their bench.

Wishing injury on a player
My hope now is that Fernandinho suffers something similar. Then they only have Gundogan/Silva/Silva as options with Delph as backup. Since Gundogan is injury prone too, their squad will get a bit stretched.

Not good to wish an injury to someone.

People on the caf always bemoan this sort of thinking but I’m with you 100%, football isn’t a game to me, it’s a way of life and I’d happily see every rival player get injured if it meant we come home with the league title. You’re right that a Fernandinho injury would severely limit city but they really do have a super strong squad so I think it would take a ridiculous injury crisis to destabilise them that much.

Nice to see have signed a Phil Jones type player going round injuring his own teammates in training. Any news in who it was??

What a sad perspective.

I’d rather we earn the league title by beating strong teams.

 a blank cheque in january says no. City need to have a freak run of injuries to feel any detriment

IF they fail this season, their excuse is here already.
When everyone points to United's failings last season, no one ever mentions the fact that Pogba was out for ages and we couldn’t play a settled centre back partnership because of injuries either.

Who gives a feck if a footballer's leg goes twang briefly? They'll have a limp, do some physio and play Playstation. Hardly anyone revelling in their leg being removed.

It’s a shame for neutrals as he is a fantastic player. But for United it is great news as he is by far City’s best player and their performances will be effected.

But wishing injury on a player is a bit ridiculous.

Exactly, but it's always the same on the Caf, the holier than thou trying to take the moral high ground even if they're secretly delighted. Football is tribal, if one rival is missing a player then it benefits you. I'd rather have my team have an advantage every week than not.

I'd rather he played to be honest. Liverpool look likely to finish 2nd so we may need City at full strength... unless of course, we put in a challenge.

They have so much depth, I don't think it would harm them much. If anything, Foden might get minutes for them now. Or St.Pep will pull some weird crap like converting Stones into a ball-playing midfielder!

On what basis? We finished above them last season whilst playing worse football than them. Don’t see why we can’t do that again, and our football can only improve.

Yeh I agree 100%. I’m not a football fan, I’m a Man Utd fan that means anything that aids us is a bonus.

I'd break my knee on purpose if I were to recover in a luxury spa making 100k a week, but it seems there are things I can say and there are things I cannot say... otherwise I will get fined, so I'll leave it there!

Let's just hope some of the minnows can shut them out when their most creative force is missing. I'm having hopes for Wolves-City to become a classic.

This is not good news for United fans :(

We need City at full strength to stop the Liverpool juggernaut. Oh how the mighty have fallen :(

I'll go slit my wrists now

You can bet he’ll be back for the United game in November. Wouldn’t be surprised if he was back for the Liverpool game in October with their ‘miracle’ recoveries from injury.

I can't stand this "fan of football" spiel. I can evaluate cognitively that he's a fantastic footballer, and still hate his guts for being a city player, and be glad when he is out of the picture for a while.

They'll be fine.
Also people being happy about this, we won't be anywhere near the title so the only beneficiary is Liverpool.

Unfortunately you make it sound like you're one of those fans who gets a bit too passionate. Football is just a game. Overpassionate fans and those who dissociate themselves from the actual humanity of it all can be the same type of fans who go to a game to hurt opposition fans.

Am I saying you assault fans? No. But fecking hell mate. It's a sport and a job for these guys. If your world revolves around your passion for football, then something needs to change.

It's literally the same as someone wanting your family member to fall off a pavement and break a bone. What really is the difference?
