Darius Vassell - had the worst celebration ever.
Emmanuel Frimpong - What happened to him?
I remember back when I used to watch KSI videos on youtube years ago he absolutely lost his shit with excitement when he got to skype with Frimpong. He was as star struck as I would be seeing David Beckham. Crazy considering where they both are now.

Buster Phillips, his name popped up on my twitter feed last night and I'd forgotten all about him, he was supposed to become a superstar according to Alan Ball, ended retiring due to CFS

Morten Gamst Pedersen - decent for Blackburn
Matty Taylor - had a knack for scoring screamers or at least for a period of time iirc

Leandrao Damiao (sp?) - his constant links to Spurs is probably the only thing I know about him

Gamst has been playing for Tromsø, Norway, since 2016

A player that defines the fact that statistics don't show the whole story.

He was always brilliant against us for Juve in the CL and Middlesbrough in the Prem but his stats aren't that good at all

Gervinho scored against Juventus this weekend. He now covers up his gigantic fivehead, so he goes largely unnoticed, even when scoring.

Class player. Played in a fairly miserly era, especially in Serie A, and often off the left or in the hole. Think his record at Marseille was more productive iirc.

Wow, Andrey Arshavin, someone mentioned. I remember seeing him on the pitch for Arsenal and he was half the size of all the other players, like a munchkin from the Wizard of Oz or an eight year old had wandered onto the pitch. Nasty little sod, though.

Alex Song - he signed for Swiss side FC Sion a fortnight ago. I had completely forgotyen about him until I read the news.

Also, Grant Holt

Andres D'Allesandro's name popped up whilst I was watching Cruzeiro vs Internacional, still playing at the grand old age of 37. I could've sworn he played more than one season over here back in the Redknapp days of Portsmouth...

Tomas Vermalean.

Saw his name in another thread and remembered I’d forgotten all about him.

“The Verminator”!

Indeed..

David Villa in the sense that I didn't think he'd still be playing. Knew he went to the US but that was a few years ago and I assumed he'd have retired by now.

Just had a goal disallowed as I was typing this, Wayne Rooney on the opposing side.

Hatem Trabelsi. Linked with him every summer from about 2003 onwards, only to sign for City and never be heard from again.

Mateja Kezman. Scored an obscene amount of goals in the Dutch league and signed for Chelsea before flopping like mad. Is there any other club with as many strikers who failed to deliver on the hype?

Wilson Palacios. Always linked with us from Wigan, rather than the player we did actually sign from them in Antonio Valencia who was never linked with us at all.

Pato at Chelsea has to be perfect for that "they really played for them?" thread. I'm far too lazy to go and look for it though.
About half of all former Chelsea players fit that description, to be fair. Marko Marin, Loic Remy, Filipe Luis, Samuel Eto'o, Oriol Romeu, Mark Schwarzer, Fabio Borini, Franco di Santo, Scott Sinclair... The amount of players they shuffle through their ranks is obscene.

Booted up my old CM 01-02 game the other day, Fulham had some solid at the time but very forgetful players back in the day - Steve Marlet, Jon Harley, Bjarne Goldbæk et all, i also remember the Latvian super striker Marians Pahars, signed him now and again.

Actually signed sort of for Arsenal before he went to City.

He was in their team in Pro Evo 4 or 5 if I remember correctly before it was confirmed that the deal hadn't gone through.

Check the website and there is a patch for players now.

Before Gaitan, the next Ronaldo Greek wonderkid Sotiris Ninis. Apparently 28 and a free agent.
