Agree with you and perhaps add one of G.Neville,Giggs,Scholes to the coaching team. This could work if we brought in a DOF to support them

Hoffenheim midtable at the moment. But as far as I know, they've lost a couple of players. How’s he been getting on?
I honestly don’t at the minute. It feels like we’ll never get back to where we used to be.Who do you suggest?
Conte would be more.of the same style thoughZidane is definitely worth a punt for right now. Conte is definitely an option too - very underrated after his last season with Chelsea.
Otherwise Carrick as caretaker with whoever he wants in his staff. Just something for us to get behind the team again.
Hockey. Anyway, very progressive coach. One of the best among this excellent generation of argentinian managers, imo. In terms of style.Didn't he come to football from a completely different sport?
I don't think we will ever be as dominant as we once were with Fergie in charge. My problem with the current team is that it lacks an identity. I doubt we'll win the league for many years but that does not mean watching United cannot be enjoyable.I honestly don’t at the minute. It feels like we’ll never get back to where we used to be.
He's definitely not the ideal scenario but I didn't think he was as bad as Mourinho (in general). Usually I seen some sort of proactive plan from his Chelsea team.Conte would be more.of the same style though
Well that's right up united street then, they love to be spending mega bucks for absoluteWith him signing a five year contract it would probably go down as the most expensive managerial change in history. Will cost £40M+ to sack Mourinho before we're confirmed to be out of the top 4 (assuming they've got that clause in) and another £40M for Levy to release Pochettino.
Simple Facts will dictate the decision to
1. Sack Jose Mourinho
2. Appoint a New Manager
Finances - United will not want to pay huge compensation to other clubs for their current Managers when they will have to pay Jose between 15M and 20M.
Therefore Zidane is available, a recent winner of CL and was one of the 10 best players to ever play the game. The last being point key to managing the Egos of Martial, Pogba, Lukaku and Lingard.
Even more important to this decision is that Zidane can definitely attract World Class players and young talented players in the January Window. The deciding factor will be that if we carry on with this current toxicity, the Club could have played 21 games in PL by the New Year and have less than 30 points, some 10 to 15 behind 4th place. We could also be out of the CL after losing to Valencia and Juventus, already knocked out of the Caribo Cup with our season depending on a FA Cup 3rd Round game.
Even Woodward is not that much of a fool not to act now why Zidane is available and without compensation!!
Hadn't thought about that. Maybe not him then. With him signing a five year contract it would probably go down as the most expensive managerial change in history. Will cost £40M+ to sack Mourinho before we're confirmed to be out of the top 4 (assuming they've got that clause in) and another £40M for Levy to release Pochettino.
To be honest, I'm not all that worried about this part at the moment. The attacking football/giving talented youth a chance I'm fully on board with, is there anyone like that knocking about Europe not already tied to a good club?A manager who is under 50 years of age
A manager who plays attacking football
A manager who has won something
A manager who gives youth a chance.
just find someone who meets the credentials above and I'd be happy.
I’d take all of the above (of course) but I’m actually past caring about whether they’ve won trophies already or not.A manager who is under 50 years of age
A manager who plays attacking football
A manager who has won something
A manager who gives youth a chance.
just find someone who meets the credentials above and I'd be happy.
So I've heard.Hockey. Anyway, very progressive coach. One of the best among this excellent generation of argentinian managers, imo. In terms of style.
I'm with you. What Mourinho and LVG have proven is the club needs a manager than they can rebuild with, rather than rely on to build for them. The club needs to quickly sort out the recruiting method, with the technical director we are supposed to get who can work hand in hand with the new manager on transfers. A technical director with experience in dealing with agents and transfers, so we can get players suited to the philosophy of the club in terms of both skill and personal values. Instead of hiring a manager, we should hire a coach who is willing to build with the club rather than concern themselves with legacy issues. This is why I would honestly prefer a British personality who fully understands the gravity of managing utd or a young hungry manager, rather than a guy like zidane, who might not even want to stay in man utd long term. The goal is to get a coach willing to stick with the club, bring a style and pattern of play that fans want and the club can afford to want, while respecting the conservative nature of the club. In hindsight, post sir alex, if we had this structure in place, we should probably have hired Quieroz or Mulensteen to give a continuity to the club. As of right now, I would suggest Eddie Howe ( as his football even for a lower side has recieved praise), Giggs, Carrick, Mckenna or Nicky Butt.We have chased big names to replace SAF and it has gotten us nowhere. We need to appoint someone who is United to the core and will get the team playing with pride or will bin anyone not pulling their weight. It is difficult to judge the former players as so few of them have done much if anything in terms of coaching but I lean heavily towards giving it to Neville or Scholesy with a good DOF to sort out the transfer business.
I am firmly in the never Zidane camp. With far more talent than us he did not come close to challenging for a League title at Real, the cup success is impressive but still involved a large slice of luck and stellar individual performances in one off games. Overall he showed he had no appetite for a rebuild there and was hated by a number of his players at the end including Ronaldo and Bale, it was telling that the vast majority of the Real squad were totally not bothered when he decided to resign. I also gravely doubt that he would want the job if offered anyway, he is going to flounce around on French TV until the PSG job comes up again.
We just need to find the bolded and stop worrying about getting a manager that's won something.A manager who is under 50 years of age
A manager who plays attacking football
A manager who has won something
A manager who gives youth a chance.
just find someone who meets the credentials above and I'd be happy.
Tuchel is really not a good pick. Very confrontational media wise and is more an idealist than a proper coach. Very overrated manager that gets praise because his team play pretty passes. We have had this philosophical manager before in LVG. They key is for recruitment to be top notch, hence the technical director, then get a manager who can get us scoring.I'm honestly not sure who we could get. Most top coaches are tied down at their current clubs, we missed the boat on Tuchel and Sarri, Jardim has Monaco in the relegation places (possibly due to the club selling all it's stars but still). Zizou looks like the right option on paper but I'm very sceptical he can replicate his Madrid success. Maybe we'll go for a left field option like a Fonseca/Howe/Nuno but I doubt this a lot.
Didn't he win the La Liga in his first full season? We have chased big names to replace SAF and it has gotten us nowhere. We need to appoint someone who is United to the core and will get the team playing with pride or will bin anyone not pulling their weight. Not Zidane as manager, Cantona as DOF?Laurent Blanc as manager, Zidane as DOF, the french connection.
Well said. Exactly what needs to be done. A list of those 5 is what is needed.I'm with you. What Mourinho and LVG have proven is the club needs a manager than they can rebuild with, rather than rely on to build for them. Then sign Pavard, Hernandez, Kanté, Griezmann, Mbappé.Laurent Blanc as manager, Zidane as DOF, the french connection.
