Big improvement today although it seems to take going behind to start us playing.
No fan of Jose's but loved his reaction today, he just can't stop[ the defensive subs though.

Well its a real catch 22 you know, on one hand if he really wants toby than he should go on war with the board decisions on other hand he got Matic and Sanchez for us in that age group whos signing has went south if we looked at the whole picture till now.

Any experienced player has to be on prime of his game.
Chelsea fans warned us about Matic starts well then his legs seem to go as the season goes on, he hasn't even started the season well this time. Sanchez, maybe the Arsenal performances were not just him sulking over a transfer who knows. Toby has still be performing well for club and country.

It is always frustrating when you concede in the last seconds of a game but I am pleased. I thought we would get blasted 3/4 nil and it looked like it may be the case after the first half. We came out in the second and pressured much better, and instead of stopping them playing we decided to play and attack. The annoying thing for me is why we only start to play when we are down or in the second half. Martial was great today but MoM for me was Mata. Chased that game like anything.

To be honest, I thought we'd get decimated so I'm happy with the point. Even if it was a sickener to end the game. No real opinion of the performance it was very 'meh' to be honest.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
Who lost the header for the second goal in dying minutes?
Smalling was covering Giroud, and both of them started going for that cross. Giroud realised Luiz was coming through and stopped to block off Smalling (and also held him down) who still basically went through Giroud to put as much pressure on Luiz as he possible could. Meanwhile, Young was standing about two metres away just watching what happened without trying to help out at all.

So Young then?

Fair result. We were pants first half. Mata was unsung hero I thought.

Always looked like they will level it. Nothing of our back 4 made me feel otherwise. Young’s stamina was finished at the 70th minute. Did you see some of his attempted reactions after that? He looked gassed. Anyway - Mourinho proves haters wrong again. Bring on Juve

Taking the next corner instead of Jones!
would have taken a draw at the start of the game.

The way it unfolded I think we at least deserved the draw but I just wish Refs had to justify their decisions. They are based on rules so I'm kinda confused as to why they can't easily answer a few questions post match when there's something contentious like 13% of the total time of the second half being lobbed "randomly" onto the end of the game

Predicted a 3-0 Chelsea win. Didn't even think we would score. So would have been happy with the draw and am in a way, but still feel some disappointment we didn't hold on.

I had predicted 1:3 and bet that scoreline too

Can't remember the last time the top 2 score predictions were negative results with us drawing a blank. Until Tuesday of course

Why was so little made of the fact the whole game turned on a goal that happened because Alonso, for no reason, decided to pretend to be dead 2 metres from his own goal?

Why did he do that? The ball was literally bouncing around in the box at the time and Martial practically scored by kicking it over his dead body.

It's one of the stupidest pieces of attempted cheating I've ever seen and is deserving of far more ridicule that it's received.

We were good after we scored. It seems to take something like that to kick our players Into gear and that is concerning.

Pogba, Martial, Lukaku and Matic all noticeably went up a gear. Pogba seemed to go up several. He literally went from being terrible to the best player on the pitch.

It's like it's a confidence/belief thing but they need to start carrying it from one game to the start of the next. Otherwise we're not going to get anywhere.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. If he had kept them on and we had conceded, the post match comments would have been "why didn't we shut up shop?!"
Except it’s not hindsight... not for me anyway. I was screaming at the TV when he took Mata and Martial off. I knew what was coming.

Sitting back and inviting pressure with our shaky defence is asking for it. We should just try and outscore our opponents instead of protecting leads. We don’t have the defenders for it.

Agreed. There was no need to shut the shop. I understand subbing off Mata, but not Martial. Taking off Lukaku and Mata would have made more sense. Ander and Alexis, would make us more potent in the midfield and more productive in counter attack. Pereira could have replaced Matic.

All I care about is that we played with passion.

Unlucky result but well done team!

Firzt half was absolutely shocking. Second half we did well. Cowardly last 10 minutes, and invited them on to us. Still a million miles away from where we should be. Defence is ridiculously poor. Expect Jose to be gone by the end of the season.

Bitter feeling, a 96th minute equalizer will feel like a 5-0 loss for the players. Especially when all the other clubs go two points up yet again. A disasterous day, only a few seconds away from a very good one. Football ey?

All in all none of our players stood out to be fair, if I didn’t know I wouldn’t be able to tell our XI at half-time because some of the players weren’t involved at all. Martial, Mata, Lukaku... I couldn’t see them. Then we score two goals out of nothing and it’s suddenly us controlling the game, weird stuff. Martial took both goals extremely well, our best and most intelligent striker by far. On the other hand, Lukaku was a zero. Not involved, not interested, not even close to getting anything happening. How many touches did he have inside the box? One of the most embarrassing performances I’ve seen.. like he won a fan contest.

I don't want to be harsh but I don't understand the reasoning of our players posting these after a draw we conceded the equalizer in 97th in it. They should be more gutted about it and Smalling should be more worrying about our defense than chanting Martial's chant.

Gutting finish, did brilliantly to turn the game round in the second half. We were poor in the first but did restrict them to a few chances and were really good once we'd got back into the game.

Next time I saw him on camera he was up and complaining. Never needed treatment .

He was fouled by Lukaku (he trod on the back of his ankle). They showed it on Sky after the game.

Perhaps it's just one of our players giving another one of our players a bit of public praise after a good performance. Is team spirit a bad thing now? I'm sure Smalling is as annoyed as everyone else over the late goal but it doesn't mean he can't be happy for Martial.

He can give the praise to him directly face to face you know.

He can, but maybe he thinks Martial is the kind of guy who would appreciate a public pat on the back from his teammates too. What harm has it done? Seems a daft thing to get wound up by in my opinion.

Gary Neville giving young MoTM :houllier:
Just like Valencia he needs to be subtly and quietly shifted into retirement. Watch the game from 70minutes on. Young was gassed. His reaction speed and physical abilities looked like a defender out of a Sunday league. He is beyond finished.

Otherwise master class performance from Mourinho.

It's more likely to be Smalling PR team Tweeting. Most footballers don't do their own social media.
