Catching them and mounting them is easy, but when I’m on it the thing keeps bucking me off. I’m spamming the calm buttons and trying to move against it. Longest I’ve lasted is about 10 seconds.

Controls are far from horrific. I find them very well done. The wheel let's me access whatever I want with ease.

A message popped up saying I was in Legendary Animal country. Hmm, may as well take something back on Seabreeze 4.0. Search the clues, and find the legendary white Bison.
I stalk it...I study it through binoculars to ascertain how to get a clean kill. Long scoped rifle, ok then. I whistle for my horse and fetch my customised sniper rifle and take aim down the scope. Boom, right between the eyes, but it hasn't died! I panic, it panics, everyone's panicking. I whip out my repeater and chase after it, I'm taking pop shots at it from distance, desperate to kill it before it runs away.
I kill it. Yes! I run over to it, it's decided to die in hip-high water. I can't skin it, I try pushing it around onto land to see if that works, but I balls it up and it's furry corpse descends into the lake, it's expressionless face is the last thing I see before it's sucked into the murky deep. feck sake.

It came mightily close to falling in the lake. Would have lost my shit if that happened.
You could have lasooed it out of the water.
That horse is beast. Handles amazingly.
You can still get your old horse to follow you. I use two horses at once, I take an extra as a pack animal for hunting.
You should still get the pelt if you go to the trapper anyway. You just won't get the cash for selling it or the meat.
I got pelt for legenary coyote. Apparently I skinned one, but didn't kill one. Every time I tried to hunt it bounty hunters turned up.

Glad you get money back as I had $1500 at the time. Although when I went back the first time she stabbed me in the head as soon as I walked in the door.
Tried to hunt the legendary fox but after wandering round the white circle for ages I just gave up. Stumbled upon the KKK and as I drew my gun the fecking autosave popped up and when I left that screen my gun was no longer drawn and I got shot to shit. Second time the KKK have killed me.

My game is really starting to lag at times for some reason, especially in cities. I'm in chapter four at the moment and everything has run completely smoothly until now. Also other bugs starting to appear, like the dialogue sound in mission video segments is sometimes missing (subtitles are still there), and the video segments sometimes freeze and I have to hold A to skip.
Anyone experiencing similar issues or have an idea why this is happening and how to fix it? Running an Xbox One X.

I actually shot the guy before I left, then his Mrs killed me... Went back and everything was gone, nothing but tins and cans in drawers. Woman nowhere to be seen. Dunno whether to expect her to show up again or not ... Probably murder me during a mission or something

it's a prequel, you don't need to have played the first one. there's also loads of quick recap videos online.
Should you buy it? Well, depends on whether you like OWG's and are happy to put up with the slow early pace. But yeah, it's an incredible game once you get past the first five or six hours. A bit like The Witcher 3 in that respect only with an even better world.
Little bit naughty but I did the gold bar glitch over the weekend and ended up with £15k. Enabled me to fully upgrade the whole camp and buy some snazzy gear with plenty left over.
Also killed the legendary buck and made the trinket which gives you a better show at getting good pelts.

Personally I find grabbing money whatever way you can one of the best aspects of the time, so that would ruin it for me,
Yeah I couldn't find those trapper's people said were near Strawberry and wherever so I just went to St. Denis.
Actually, anyone know what the story is with perfect pelts? Like.. if I donate them to Pearson will they still show as me being able to upgrade my satchel or are they gone and i need to get another to bring him? Same with trapper's and clothes.
