If we were to finish on the same points as Juve in the groups, we'd go ahead of them right? Since we scored more away goals?

Best result for over 5 years. And thats with a useless pogba and no attack from the RHS at all. Bringing on Fellaini, a bit of muscle and Mata a cool football brain made the difference in the end.

Jesus christ  He should be banned from ever commentating again
I'm sure Fletcher (commentator) said in quite a negative way that Utd hadn't beaten Juventus in 15 years - when in fact we have only played them once in that time, which was a fortnight ago. He then went on to.say, we had only ever won 4 from 15 matches in Italy, yet forgot that two of those were against Juventus! Appalling commentating.

yep. A draw in Juve v Valencia would see us qualify with a win against Young Boys and freeroll for top spot in the final game.

feck's sake

They should actually host a casting call and get a couple of fans who are knowledgeable, articulate and charismatic instead of the idiots they have now. There must be loads of people out there who could do a far better job than these guys

We should stop pretending we can play football and go for the nuclear option from the onset
It's amazing how in the last 15 minutes as soon as we decided to attack we showed that we have players to terrorise that Juventus defense yet listening to some people talk about our players one would think we're some championship team players wise compared to Juventus.

Juventus boost world class attackers like Cuarduadro, so we can't compete.

Unbelievable. Finally the first genuine great feeling of joy and pride of this season.:devil:

Crazy, crazy season. A miserable o-1 at OT, but then guts and balls and faith in Italy, 1-2. Insane.

How the feck did we manage to win that?

Unreal result and momentum to bring into the derby on Sunday. Was dreading the City match before but now buzzing for it. GGMU

Not seen the game (at the City Match) but well done on the result.
Should be a cracking Derby.

I sort of watched it in the pub.

I'm honestly in shock that we beat them and played relatively well too.

Kinda feels like the late 90's when we used to get beat by them and a draw was a good result and then we finally beat them in '99. That also makes me miss both playing Juve regularly and that treble winning team.

We stuck in there and took our limited chances. How many times in the past few years have we had the game by the scruff of the neck and not taken the gazillion chances we’ve had, to only lose or draw that game? Certainly in Jose’s first season.

Could have taken a lot of positives even losing that 1-0, when comparing it with the first game.

Beat performance in Europe for many a years that!!

City, Spurs, liverpool even Chelsea would turn this Juventus team over. They're a very good side but with the way some of our fans were talking you'd have thought we were playing prime Barcelona of 2011.

We attack, we can give anyone a game. Our front 6 are decent when we play without Lukaku. So much movement and interplay. Like the old days. Good players that enjoy playing with eac other (like the LFC 3). Lukaku slows us down as he never holds up the ball or runs the channels. Martial has been immense plus Herrera has changed the dynamic of the midfield. No idea why he was ever dropped. Didn't expect to win but obviously I'm over the moon.

Many many many of Fergie's European away victories were not unlike this win tonight. Under pressure a lot of the game, second best at times, giving away chances but staying organised and playing until the end to get something.

If you can't enjoy the win then that's a real shame.
Well said.

Their CB's combined age is something like 65/70. We should be tearing them apart

Cuadrado, again, was just meh. Everytime I see him at either club level or international he has a few good moments but is generally so wasteful. If he's a regular starter then that's a worry. It could be that I haven't seen enough of him.

I'm not sure if today Juve underestimated us or we just improved a lot on the first leg. Even before the Ronaldo goal , they were obviously the better team but it wasn't like the match at OT when the gulf in quality just seemed embarrassing at times.
Halfway through the first half someone on BT Sport remarked on United’s possession stats; how much better they looked than the OT game. The comment was made that José had strengthened midfield and United were doing well winning the ball back. I would have been proud of them even ai 0-1

I actually didn't celebrate the second goal for about a minute. I was sure it was going to be disallowed. It's been a long time since we had such a great win. As someone said earlier, we did this under Fergie lots of times. Everyone should enjoy tonight, no need to overanalyze a win over probably the best team in Europe.

Ok, I thought Liverpool lost yesterday against the mighty Red Star Belgrade, Spurs got a late winner against PSV, and I can't seem to find what team Chelsea are playing in the CL.

You have had too much Red Bull, go to bed.

Weird game. I didn't think the players were bad individually but the team looked very passive collectively at times.

We were extremely fortunate not to be 3 or 4-0 down at one point but that's obviously a lot easier to take when the game ends in a win. Let's hope we see more of the final 10 minutes against City than the previous 80.

Beat the Young Boys is paramount regardless of result last night. We now force Juventus to play their best against Valencia which would be doing us a favour. I won't think too much about being 1st or 2nd of the group, ranking has lost its usefulness in past few seasons as many hot favourites went out as 2nd of the group.

You need to pick a different team or sport mate. If you can't derive enjoyment from wins like that then perhaps it's time to move on?

Nights like tonight are what we need to savour. They can also give players a huge confidence boost and confidence in sport is huge.
Yes, hear, hear. Failed attempts at anti United sarcasm after a great European night. On ignore already.

Well there's a smash and grab if you ever saw one. After 84 minutes, I was relieved it was just 1-0; ten minutes later, Rashford could have made it 3-1. We've conceded a couple of very late goals recently, so it's great to get a couple. Magnificent results against a very good team; the type of victory United of old used to earn. We're right in the mix for the last sixteen now!

I’m struggling to sleep and I have a 7am start in the morning! Smiling from ear to ear! Our best victory in Europe for a very long time!

Went into this game thinking we were going to get completely outclassed all over the park like what happened at OT in the previous game! Just glad that Jose and the players made me eat my own words!

By the way, how the feck did Sandro not get a red for the challenge on Ashley Young. He was so fecking lucky, Juve as typical with refs.

Ridiculous. Juventus are a much better team than Spurs, Liverpool & Chelsea. City would give them a game but those other three you have mentioned wouldn’t turn this Juve side over

Thank the lord because him and Bonucci put the goal in to the back of the net. Football aye?

Liverpool just lost to Red Star, Spurs' comeback against PSV is basically the same, and Chelsea didn't qualify for the competition because they're too good for it. City though? Now you're taking the piss.
