The old Jose is on the way back, his reaction after the Newcastle game, his anger after the Chelsea incident and now his reaction to the Juve fans :) after last nights game. He is not quite back but he is getting there and shows how much he loves United.

Keep it going Jose.

If he can beat that other Manchester team in their own back yard the Love can turn into a full blown relationship.

Relationships are two way streets, and he probably wouldn’t want to slum it with someone who goes back and forth depending on whether or not he’s good enough for them.

I defended Jose when and if there was a Paul feud but did vote for Jose time is up when not only the results were going bad but the team well according to the press was having a split in the Changing room.
Now after not only the results but his and the players reaction to the so called crisis I feel the love is on the way back.

I have always liked how he operates but I haven't changed my mind on the football he plays. We're always set up to play on the back foot.

Good.. good.. welcome to the dark side

Leave breakfast on his doorstep and see if he’ll forgive you.

I missed last night's game. Was it a good watch (barring the last five minutes)? That's my test.

I didn't think we did last night to be fair. We aren't as good a team as Juve but our system managed to keep fairly solid while managing some periods of good attacking football.

Can't say I have much love for him but I do support him and the team and obviously hope we do exceptionally well.

A win/decent performance against City and this could really be a turning point (and not just another false dawn!) for us.

Onwards and upwards. Loved his wumming of the Juve fans as well

We were good for a solid chunk of the second half imo. Some of the passing play / link up play up top was good. We were better with Mata on the pitch / Lingard off it, and we should really be prioritising getting Martial signed up to a longer contract.

We're not quite clicking, and need to be more clinical - Rashford missed a peach of a chance at the death.

That said, we got battered at the back for most of the game - Juve were far better technically, and should have put the game to bed, having hit the bar, the post, and De Gea, making some great saves.

"shows how much he loves United" what on earth, last night had nothing to do with United.

It’s all down to the personnel. Before the season started mourinho made it seem like we didn’t have the team to play attacking football. Started a war with Woodward just to prove a point. Has also cost us part of the season playing the likes of mctominay and herrrra in defense all just to prove a point.

He lost the war and now is back to being his best. If he really loved us he would have let his pride go from the start. Always liked the man but still voting him out because he will never change. Sooner or later he will still implode when things don’t go his way.

I only got the second half but we were decent in both defense and attack. It took a wonder goal for them to score and to get their attacking confidence. They had a spell shortly after the goal of about 10 minutes where they could've scored 1-2 more but for poor finishing.

In attack we moved the ball quickly, some lovely spells of 1-2 touch passes to beat their press. Got in some good attack positions and they had to foul us quite a bit. Never die attitude was strong.

Overall it was a good performances given how much better they are and away from home.

I'm not convinced at the moment he will implode. My feeling is we should back 100% and we'll be winning trophies again soon.

Yeah, he doesn’t, no matter how desperately some of you want to believe it.

But at least he seems to have gotten the team somewhat back on track (at least results-wise), but plenty more work to do.

I've never had a problem with the man himself. In fact, I've been concerned for him since joining because I've heard about his father being ill and he's always looked so down for the most part here, so it was nice to see him happy yesterday.

With that said, I still would prefer a change. Our fighting until the end is great, but I still think we're a poorly coached team. We can't defend, are poor offensively whether we're failing to break down a packed defence or are wasting counter attack after counter attack, our pressing is a mess in that we don't press as a team, and there's still no identity or cohesion in this team after 2+ years and hundreds of millions spent.

As for last night, yeah, it was a great result, and, again, our never say die attitude is brilliant, but I thought we were poor again. I want to see an upturn in performances which I haven't seen on a consistent basis yet. Not since José's first season, anyway, and even then it was short lived.

I never had any love for him in the first place but have to admit in past couple of weeks he’s been growing on me - kinda like fungus!

Now if we beat City on Sunday I will start to believe!

Mine isn't. If he completely changed his style to an attacking one , and one that doesn't involve boring me with negative tactics then i would consider giving him my full support but as he has always been this way.. i cant see him changing any time soon.

We have to remember that it was only a frw weeks ago after the first Juve tie that he said they were too good for us.. at home! We didnt even try!

And a few weeks ago he said we lost (cant remember who too) partly because Fellaini was injured and we couldn't play our normal last 20 minutes. (lump it to another lump type football). And just for the record i think Fellaini has more to his game than that.

In my opinion, Jose only has to change a little bit. When the players listen to his tactics and forget that its negative, they seem to come away with something. But the negativity around the tactics breeds negativity in the players and it shows every week with poor starts and conceding early, poor 1st halves with 2nd half come backs. But that isnt sustainable. Better teams will punish us.

The sevilla game was the turning point for me. He has had enough time to get the players playing his way. It still isn't working regardless of our recent record up turn in fortunes. I think we will see the same thing from now until the end of the season.. a few games won, a silly loss to Brighton or Burnley while our rivals progress.

Let's hope it doesn't dissipate after Sunday :nervous:

Hopefully he”ll turn things around now....I didnt want him to get the sack even when everyone on here(about 75-80 percent) was calling for his head.I dont fancy any of the alternatives available right now,i desperately want Jose to succedd....

I agree. We had the exact same spell after we first scored yet there seems to be with more weight added to Juves spell.
If we had another 10 minutes I would have fancied us to score another.

I prefer to wait till Xmas to gauge where he is at. While he is more cheerful and is also making good tactical and selection decisions, the sample size is still small.

Plus, I want Martial and Pogba to stay at the club. To me, they are more valuable than Jose and his tenure should depend on his relationship with them and use of these players.

The anti-Mourinho brigade doesnt like this

They were hoping he'd be sack by now

unlucky kids

I reiterate it is not entirely his fault, players need to man up and again right at the end 1 on 1 rashford misses to which would have made it 3-1 again that could have cost us if juventus had found an equaliser.

Jose is like that girl you have a love-hate relationship with. You fecking love her, but she can make you want to throw her out of the window in a second.

I wanted him to do well. But I just hope he is a bit more positive as we pretty much got nothing to lose. When we finished 6th in his first season the fans forgave him because a lot of those games especially in the first part of the season we created tons of chances.

Stick with Sanchez up front and don’t resort to Lukaku until he gets his act together.

City will be a step up for me....a massive step up simply because of how they come wave after wave and if anything with each goal scored they push harder. In the period after we went 1-0 down thats the time we were poor and that's the time City would really punish our back line. Matic won't keep with the runners I'd be looking at Herrera and Matic as 2 DMs with Pogba ahead at least until the second half.

I'll admit I've fallen a few times into the trap of failing to separate Jose's dour demeanour in the press and during some games with what he does on the training pitch. Players such as Lukaku have come out with warm words about the character they work with day-to-day and I think it's naive in the extreme to imagine he's this storm cloud of a bloke at all times while taking training and interacting with players.

That said I'm all for a bit of bombast, and even some antics, in his public persona as that is part and parcel for me of the insurgent Jose of a decade or so ago.

Also:

Love that picture

He seems to have stumbled on the best formation with Lukaku's injury. Sanchez brings so much more movement to us playing up front and we look a million times better. Some of our close one touch stuff around the box last night was great. Didn't always come off, but you could see what we were trying to do.
Really hope he doesn't revert back to lumping it up to Lukaku when he's fit again, we should stick with this now for the forseeable future.

Longer term we should be looking at a midfield/attack of:

Martial, Sanchez, Rashford
Pogba, Herrera, Pereira

We've got semi decent back ups in Mata and Lingard, but a specialist right winger (I think we should have bought Mahrez in the summer) would help massively.

It's funny how quickly things in football change. Not long ago, Klopp had reinvented himself to being able to win ugly and made himself a serious contender for the title and most people on here were aiming for Zidane or someone else to take over for Jose asap. Now, Klopp is having a bit of a crisis and Jose is again the right man for the job.

Win this weekend and I think we'll see a ramping up of the old Jose. Considering the start we've had and the long unbeaten sequences of our rivals we wouldn't be miles off having played some tuff away fixtures for us. This weekend will shape our season.

People believe Jose can win the biggest games.....not so with Klopp and that will eventually hurt him.
