Southampton are utter garbage. The only reason this is entertaining is because of our line up

Rashford been great. Lukaku is looking much better. Horror show to start with but got better.
Wow apart from the goal he has been poor-but second thoughts you are right poor is a few levels up from sh*te of his last 12 games

With this defense, I am quite fearful of how many we will concede if we draw Barca or PSG (assuming they finish 1st) in the CL. 5-6 maybe.
Hahaha can you imagine neymar and Mbappe against us Jesus Christ

We will almost certainly win this, but if we have to be pulling out Nou Camp/Istanbul type of ‘heroic’ comebacks every week just to beat the likes of Bournemouth, Newcastle and Southampton it’s far from good enough.

And this Saints team is easily the worst of the lot. City would be 4-0 up at half time. They are terrible.

Yeah. I think the comments about Rashford being stupid are mainly a race thing. It's an easy go-to criticism for black players.

He's quite clearly an intelligent player. What he lacks more often than not is compusure and technique. That's got nothing to do with intelligence. Getting into positions is about being clever. Shanking a shot is about consistency/ability.

It's fairly ironic to see certain posters comment on another human being's intelligence.
You are getting into dangerous territory now playing the race card.

Southampton are astonishingly easy to play against. Lukaku is actually having a better night with his back to goal, but look at the space they are giving him, no pressure on him, no stress on his touch, a ton of time in midfield to pick a pass. If Utd were playing at even 5/10 they would be winning this game comfortably.

Worst Southampton team in a long time.

    Red Card for Casemiro!
Lukaku's crosses are abysmal. Immediately after the ball went to midfield, I don't know why he just stood there and started pointing, instead of getting into goal. And Matic is a disaster wherever he plays. Responsible for the first goal for 2 errors in a row.

Trying to make sense of this frantic half. I think there was nothing anyone could do about that freekick. His 1st goal in 100 appearances, once in a while those things happen. The first goal, however, could have been entirely avoided if Matic hadn't been shit, or Fellaini knew how to tackle, or if we had some organization in defence.

Going forward, the lack of width is showing, especially since Lukaku has been as poor as ever despite his goal. Rashford has been very good, and has been a constant livewire. We wouldn't have been level if not for his commitment and 2 assists. Pogba as inconsistent as ever, world-class one moment, and making school boy errors the next.

I love this team's character. Jose questioning their 'heart' is absolute bullshit. We work hard to come back and level, time and again, and I love that. Given some good coaching, we can be a very good side.

Stupid formation, team selection. Matic and Lukaku shouldn't be on the pitch. All on Jose.

Excellent assists from Rashford, fair play to him. I just wish he could start doing the simple things clinically too like the pass at the start of the game or the chance vs Young Boys.

Why blame Jose? Okay, the line up. What I just saw was down to those 11 on the pitch. They ARE good enough to beat Southampton so let's stop making this line up excuse for them. The same eleven that played crap in the first 20 minutes and went two goals down, started playing a lot better in the last 20 minutes and scores two goals. The same eleven for goodness sake!
Yes, so that shows they possess the individual quality to play good football and beat the opponents. If so, them not being motivated all the time is due to the Manager. For all their faults, have you seen teams coached by Klopp, Poch or Sarri swing from looking like pub players to the exact opposite next minute?

And this nonsense happens almost every game.

Southampton are utterly crap, we really need to win this. This could potentially be 2-5 if we step it up, but we are not a team with confidence at all are we.

Well done Ander for making the run for the goal, too many times we have no one in the box to get on the end of those, credit Rashford too. We need to use the momentum we've got and go at them in the second half, they should be absolutely gutted to have lost a 2 goal lead so go for the throat.

Dalot Fred and Martial on for Young McTominay and Lukaku unfortunately we know there is no chance of the last one and little chance of the first
McYominay has played better than Pogba in this game.

Honestly we should be 3 0 up against the Soton side. We should be finishing the game 5 or 6 nil. The fact we came from 2 behind is nothing to be proud of yet all we will hear is why cant we start well and Jose saved it in the end. I'm not one of those that wishes we lose this game or any game, but i barely celebrated either goal, just a smerk. We should win the game 3 2 but it just means Jose stays here another month. I really really do not trust him with 100m in Jan.

Fully agree with this. THis Southampton team is one of the worst I have seen in the EPL and we were 2-0 to them

No chance Mourinho subs Lukaku after he scored a goal. And I doubt we'll see Martial again this soon.

But there is a problem with their attitude when it takes embarrassment for them to step it up. They do not naturally go on the pitch in a normal Prem game and get at it. It seems when they play at their best when they know they have licence to attack.
